My guys, this is very true. With my own eyes, I saw an offer letter of employment dates 24th of September, 2018 that was given to one lady that just finished Nysc.

My colleague told me she applied online ohhh but never went for the screening nor visit any poo office. She has connections to any government agencies.

To be honest, I just give up for nigeria at that moment. If I didn't see the employment letter, I would have said Na lie. God dey for common man

Except God directs you to go for any government job, pls forget about it because it has been shared.

Apologies but please kindly check the tyres of your friend if they are not yet expired. Check the expiration code by the sides.

Concrete roads are done in most communities in Bayelsa State. So it's not new.
They should just ensure that the surface is not too smooth.

The only problem I have with this road as shown on the pix is that the sides are exposed. They should use sand/laterite to lap the sides of the concrete so it does not wear out too soon.

You dey mind them ?

But the technology is good, but the governor is supposed to do a better job. Drainage is needed, and all he needed was to replace butimen with cement and construct a nice road with gutter. But he bleeped up in attempt to show the 'thickness' of the cement to justify his inflated budget.

I love politicians, because they can lie, and steal without being jailed. I will like my kids to be politicians, but for me, I have politicians in my pocket.

Stop deceiving yourself that a drainage must necessary exist in road construction especially for concrete asphalt roads or pure concrete roads.

Do you know that the thicker a road is, the more difficult it will be to erode it especially when it is not being covered by water and the edges are reinforced with concretes in order to prevent water from washing away the soil on which it was built on.

Besides, a concrete road is like a rock that water can not break up.

But we all know that to diversify, we need funds to achieve that. Funds that are needed to pay salaries and still develop public infrastructure while government revenue from our crude oil economy is still not back to the level it used to be.

Or you want people to be owed salaries while the FG devotes funds into aggressive diversification? Are we that selfless in Nigeria and willing to make such sacrifices?

And any effort to diversify, would not suddenly become evident in government revenue under 4years in a period that was marred by economic recession.

At least with reduced corruption, IGR from the likes of Customs has improved significantly. Even JAMB has tremendously improved their returns to government.

You don't need to owe salaries because you want to increase IGR.

What you need to do, is to prioritize it equally with infrastructure.

Example
Instead of spending #500b on infrastructure, you can spend #250b on infrastructure and #250b on revenue generating ventures.

By the time you have spent 4 years in power, you would have acquired revenue sources worth #1tr and capable of generating billions of naira every year.

Mr throwback, a nation must have plans to keep increasing her revenue in order to be able to meet up with her financial responsibilities.

Another Example

Imagine a civil servant that invest in income generating ventures and another who never does.

Which of the 2 do you think will escape poverty faster.?
Politics / Re: Governor Umahi's Cement Technology Road In Ebonyi, The Most Durable Anywhere by EternalTruths: 8:38am On Sep 27, 2018
Fawklicant:
It's a good idea but I have some reservations about it.
One is frictional drag on the vehicles. Frictional resistance on the tyres will be greater thereby slowing the car down considerably requiring the driver to apply more torque to move faster with increased fuel consumption as the attendant effect.

If it is coated with asphalt, then it would still be vulnerable to faults and cracks hence potholes would surface in no time. Though the depth of the potholes won't be as deep as using asphalt on compacted earth.

The wear on vehicle tires would be much more due to increased friction. Such technology as well as the use of interlock should be limited to inner city roads like streets and all because of durability. It's use on the highway and interstate however would have higher economic disadvantages especially on users as millions would be spent daily by users on car maintenance.

Just my humble opinion.

The only thing missing, is the absence of Asphalt as a finishing material with concrete blocks at the edges to help increase the compactness of the Asphalt and in turn prevent pot holes from arising.

@ laplace19 have you guys tried the use of concrete blocks at edges on concrete roads in your research to see the impact on the compactness of Asphalt especially in preventing pot holes.

The practice is to use a lower water-cement ratio making the concrete mix a little stiff(and not slippery) with higher compressive strength (minimum of 30N/m^2) achieved.

But with which money do you want to get higher minimum wage, when the N18k that is too small was the best the FG could do when crude oil was selling above $100/barrel?

And the drop in that crude oil price reduced government revenue and reduced state allocations that has led to owed salaries and half salaries in most states with poor IGR?

So with what funds will the FG now pay above N18k? Or is crude oil that is running our mono-economy now selling above $200/barrel?

As for allegations of opposition sponsoring strikes or protests, that has always been the easier scapegoat of blame.

Since 2015, Buhari refused to work on the IGR and EGR of Nigeria in order help better finance his government.
