What is it that is pushing you to send the innocent woman into a white man's land for prey. Haven't you been hearing news of what is happening to those who sent their wives there ? A friend of mine went there with his entire family only to lose his wife to another man. Another one resigned from oil company to relocate abroad with his family because he had sent his wife and children there ahead .. as am writting here now the family is in shamble . His wife has turned to a white woman who wants to go naked to beaches and enjoy herself in Chinese restaurants .. I beg let your head get sense before you lose your jewels
grin Charly this your story na wa o.

There is nothing wrong in what he is told the wife. I think he himself lack ideas. He is not creative enough to give her options and hence not convincing. There are many ways to relocate, I think she wants to relocate but doesn't want to be encumbered with PhD. This man think say PhD na walk in the park. Lol

Education also has to be purposeful, why is she doing a PhD? To what end? If he is so crazy about the idea of doing PhD abroad, he should go do it!

Happy New year my People

please I want experts in the house to help me with some clarity

I have an interlocked compound that isn't up to 2years but it gets messy during raining season and changes colour completely. I want to do a stamped concrete or even ordinary concrete flooring.
Is it wise to do my concrete flooring on the interlock or to remove the interlock completely. I was thinking leaving the interlock might give flooring some added strength but I am worried it might crack if there is no proper adhesion between both the interlock and the new concrete mix.

To be honest I don't want to waste the interlock.

Please what's your take...any expert advice from the house.

Look for a marine company, apply as an Electrical Officer Cadet.

Do your Cadetship for 12 months (sea experience)

Go to Ghana or Uk (do some research), enroll for an ETO Certificate of Competency.

Go back to the ship as an Electrical Engineer onboard.

There is a mad demand for you.

Walking down to my apartment after coming down from public bus, with two full bags of groceries, I was practically limping cos I somehow managed to sprain my ankle. A police officer stopped to offer me a ride. I went into supersonic shock for few seconds, my mind was trying to see where I broke the law, I couldn't even utter a word...i nodded, yes. He came down took my groceries put them in his trunk and I sat at the back. The front passenger seat was full of gadgets. It was the most confusing ride I have had, he dropped me in front of my apartment, brought out my bags handed over to me and said good bye.

Fear catch me....mehn those ford police SUV, are almost as sophisticated as a cockpit of a plane grin

By the way, this was in Calgary Alberta. Canada.

It is a simple issue. Get a seal strip and cement glue and glue the seal around the top, right and left edges of the door. So when you close the door, the door is airtight. At the bottom, install a trap strip and a weatherboard (metal plate) along the bottom of the door to push the water outwards so it drips further forward. Use a silicone sealant to seal any opening and the edges of the plate. Watch the attached youtube videos to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Thank you so much diordaves

If you can or you know someone who can do this sealing perfectly well and can help me seal up four doors. I will be very happy.

I am not around to it myself.

Please if you know anyone who is good at this and will do a very solid job, hit me up on WhatsApp.

Bold 1&2.
If the base of the door does not fit in completely when closed one has to know if the door is bad which means it has to be changed completely or maybe due to wrong installation by the person who hanged and dressed the door.

I thought as much too. Most probably change the doors. I wish there was something easier than changing doors. I have to breakout the door frames and all.

I am not an Engineer but I think the OP made it clear that water was not coming from the ground or capillary action. It has to do with powerful wind pushing rain water towards the door areas. Since the there is so much gap between the base of the doors and the ground, rain water is finding its way into the house.
There should have been a little slopping at the door areas to allow reverse flow of water that may want to settle within the door areas or try to find its way. I think this is more of rain splashes than any foundation issue. There should not have been much gap between the base of the doors and the tiles

Where I stay now, during heavy rain with heavy winds, water splashes in the balcony and settles in the balcony, which are later mopped off.

I understand perfectly everybody's concern but It's not a foundation issue, very far from it, there is no capillary action at play. I can't load up the video here because of its size . Water just comes through the base of the door for both the main door and the kitchen door.

Apologies for the issue at hand....

Just a couple of questions.......asked/mentioned by others.....

Point A
1) Is it possible that the water seepage is going through the base of the door?

2) What's the base level of the door if it has a frame to the corresponding level of the other floor that's has been tiled?

Point B
1)Is the water passing through the window probably because it's open during high rainfall?

Generally......

1) Is the water seepage most likely through the outer wall gaining entrance into the building. If that's the case is there a water settlement on the interior wall of same side?
2) Is there any signs of water on the floor(s) internally due to rising water beneath your already installed floor tiles?

Firstly thanks so much Bixton, and for everyone of you helping me to find a solution. I will answer all your questions one after the other...

From what I was told and video that was sent to me, cos I have not been there to see the extent of what happened. Water actually come through through the base of the door. It has nothing to do with the walls. You could literally see the water enter through the base of the door. I also noticed the door wasn't properly closed, all this China doors for exterior doors can be a nightmare.

So Bixton, it is not a case of water coming from the ground underneath the tiles, it is actually heavy rain, with immense wind forcing rain water into that region and causing water to enter that apartment through the base of the door frame.

Something important to note is that the base, floor is almost same level as the door, just the base of the door frame that helps elevates the door by few inches.

If you see from the picture, the base of that door frame is suppose to help but it's not. And that doors looks like it's just completely an open spree!

My surprise is even with the balcony(the shade), water still finds its way into the area...I am more than shocked.

My able and trusted professionals,

The recent rain that fell delt me a big blow. Water was entering into the main sitting room and the kitchen through the door of the ground floor apartment. Please how do I tackle this?. I have attached the picture of the house for you to have an idea of what I am saying.

Someone suggested a danpalon, please are there other ways I can prevent water ingress. I know the rain was very heavy but with all the shootouts I still can't understand how the water found its way into the house.

Please I need your help urgently. Abeg una

Sorry this. Can i ask you some questions?

-Did you position overhead tank on the roof or you have a tank stanchion>>
-What type of pipe did your plumber used from from the overhead water tank to the surrounding
-What type of pipes did you use internally should in-case you plan o introduce pressure pump in order to have good pressure in all the bathrooms and toilets.

Topsy thanks for this questions

1. I used a tank stanchion. With three tanks.
2. The internal work were thick grey and green thick pvc pipes all through . ( Only God knows if it's thick, I wasn't there)
Pressure pump will definitely hit hard on that pipe work.

There is duplex in front and a twin rented flat behind ..the stanchion that serves all the building is behind. So I guess the pressure isn't sufficient due to the long run to the duplex in front hence some toilets are starved. I really don't know how to solve that problem.

The same same Duplex has wet walls downstairs. I got a plumber to come check it out, the guy broke walls claimed fixed it but walls is still wet and it's spreading.
The down flat behind does not get any pressure at all
It's tank is at middle of the Stachion, there seem to be enough head, but it seems there is a blockage somewhere. The tank takes time to fill up and tank goes down fast without occupants yet in the house. Though there are workers who use water ones in a while but that's not enough to consume that much water in such a short space of time.

Just multiples issues here and there...

Hi everyone,

I have issues with my plumbing system, there seem to be pressure issues in few of the rooms.

I was unfortunate with my choice of plumber. There is low pressure and no water at all coming in some part of the buildingm And then there are dampness and 'wet' walls in some areas. I have only called a plumber to check for leakage, which he claims he saw but the problem still persist.

Please, I will get a solution here, I need help guys. It's a new building. And i jst even painted.

What can I do?

Left for me 500k is way too small to emigrate to one of the North Africa giants. Yes! their country share some European master piece(language for instance).
Its a no safe haven for a west Africa to go. You can neither understand their Arabic as it's different from the Middle eastern pattern. Their writing is in patterns of Egyptian dynasty. You can settle in Ghana but they don't want Nigeria. Least all these troubles why don't settle for Poultry.

No north african country is doing better than Nigeria. the only country that had a chance is algeria because of their oil, but corruption and their religious extremism is killing the region. i have an algerian friend so i know. the RACISM and inherent bigotry in this arab nations are mindblowing. algerians are colonized by arabs and then france, all of them, like our OP are looking for ways to escape to france, how does he want to contest with them.

what i dont understand is why are NIGERIANS dont even do their research before they start making decisions....How did he even think of algeria, does he even know their GDP. Have even thought of the impact of COVID in these countries?

Only few countries have their heads above the waters, and you want to travel there, to do what exactly have you tried converting your 500k to dollars and see that's its not even enough to pay one month rent in some countries!

Algeria is a NO NO!
North Africa is a No No....dont even go close. they are not doing well economically. pre or post covid, and they HATE your black ass. They are more racisst than europeans. So take your 500k and sit your ass in Nigeria.

Candid advice, go to your village, secure land, invest half of that money in farming....begin to grow, seek for agricultural loan and build your capacity.
in 10years you will be better than anybody who travels to algeria now.

This ban get as e be o. You ban airlines coming from canada and UK, how will Nigerians in those countries go back home.

What about other foreign airlines that operate those countries to Nigeria. Instead of banning the airline, why not invite the Canadian high commission or the UK high commission for a hearing on the matter. How is it an airline problem.

They creating further bottle neck for Airpeace, UK and Canada are top destinations for Nigerians. I really dont see the sense in this ban.
