My 2 cents, and please do not mind the typos....

Its a little dicy...
You need to tells us more abt d admission... BSc,MSc,PhD, reseach/professional/, lenght of the programme, scholarship etc.
Also, the age of ur children is a factor to consider when making decisions.

VOs are not only psychologists, they're also practical humans... You also need to be truthful to yourself when answering the below questions to enable u make the right decision, as u are actually puting urself in the VOs position.

1. Is it practical to concentrate on studies when nursing 4 kids alone in an expensive country?
2. Is it practical to allow your hubby nurse 4 kids alone while you are away for say 1/2/3/4/5/6 years for studies?

These are the gray areas you need to work on in ur SOP explaining how you plan to manage the practical situation.

e.g. travelling without family...
I wld av loved to travel with my children as we are very much attached, but because they are grown ups and I am only going for a year programme, I believe that they will be ok with their dad. In addition, I plan to become certified/chartered in xyz before graduation so I wouldn't want any distractions. I may invite my family for a visit during the summer break.

e.g. trvelling with family but without hubby...
I wld be traveling with my children as they are stll young and we are very much attached. I will not be able to leave them with my hubby as his work is very demanding and he is presently managing projects xyz for his employer. In order to reduce distractions while studing, I have pre-registered my children at xyz daycare and also requested the service of a maid to help out with the house old chourse....

Just be practical, show the VO u av taking care of the gray areas, show proof with documents, e.g. daycare part-payment receiepts or registration docs etc...

Finally, leave the rest in God's hands and hope for the best.

Many thanks.

Hi, could I trouble you for some advice?

I have admission for January and I want to apply with my (4) kids. People say I'm crazy for even considering that but these are some of the reasons why I think I can pull it off . ..

1. My husband is staying behind . .
2. I don't plan to travel immidiately, I plan to start my study online and continue working here, until the summer of next year.
3. PoF - 35kCAD in a Canadian Bank Grarantee certificate (Which I can only access when I arrive there); Payment of one year upfront school fees; evidence of continous (about 700k) earning between now and whenever I'm ready to relocate (Including 25% pension funds which I can access after I travel . . worth about 10kCAD).
4. Letter from my current employer stating that the degree will be an added advantage in my career prospects here in Nigeria after completion.
5. Travel history (3 of my kids were born in the US)

Of course I have the option of going first without my kids, and then requesting for them to join me later. But I will rather consider that as a Plan B.

So do you guys think I'm crazy?

Opemipo21:

I have explained the email in my last response. Also, you will not get a response telling you that you are Eligible, you have to request a GCMS note for that. And you are not raising CSE at all as the department that evaluates your application to be considered essential is different from your visa officer as I was told by IRCC agent here in Canada.

Many thanks for the useful info. Opemipo.
Just would like to know if you've left for Canada already, and whether you were asked to test for Covid here in Nija and at the Canadian boder?
Please, share your experience.

Emmyinks:

I got admission in Regina and Wes is compulsory for the department that needs it. In fact my application was shifted to the next term because WES makes me go beyond deadline.
However, I think is not all course that requires Wes. I was ask to confirm if my department need Wes. But if you can do it, I will fasten your process

Hello, did you get funding with your admission? A friend of mine just got admitted and he was told to apply for funding after the first term.

Hello experts,
We all know that VFS is still closed and Passport Submission cannot be done even if you get a final decision that your application is approved.

In this case can you start studying online when you get a passport request? or you still have to wait still you submit your passport and get your port of entry letter of introduction before you can start your online studies?

By IRCC requirements in this Covid period, when can you start studying online. Passport request or port of entry letter of introduction?

Based on the online webinars I attended, it's still not clear how CIC would handle visas and permits due to closed VFS offices and travel restrictions. But one thing CIC assured applicants was extended deadlines. Also, newly admitted students are required to, at the least, upload their "CIC letter of introduction" as part of the enrolment and registration process before studies online.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by gbjobs1: 9:30pm On Jun 07, 2020
The truth is always bitter. There is no brave and bold move. Take what CIC tells u on their official site to be true and accurate. Canadian universities and immigration are totally different establishments and Canadian immigration rules are no joke. It's illegal to study without a study permit. And even if CIC is officially relaxing that rule, it's not advisable to venture at all. All the best.

Just to add my 2cents to the debate...

I got admitted to a number of institutions starting in fall 2020 and also attended online webinars organized by them. They all advised not to commence online studies without at least an approval of the study permit application.

Also, I think Canada operates a quota system for visa approval and the denial rate for Nigeria has been increasing over the years due to negative perception.
