obembet:This is a misconception I have often seen. Tell me, can you read in your local language better than you can read in the English language? If the English language is easier for you to read, what makes you think you would have learned better if your textbooks were in Igbo? Most of us can't even write properly in our local languages. So how are you going to learn a complex subject that is written in this language that you struggle to read and write in? How many of us can casually read a simple Igbo news article without struggling? Or you forget that we do most of our learning by reading? Now imagine having to not just read but study a technical textbook written in this language. If at all, for this to work, our indigenous languages would first have to take the place of English in the country. You can't be a good student if you don't have a firm grasp of the language of instruction both in the spoken and in the written form. So, for instance, Igbo language would have to be mandated and prioritised above all subjects starting from primary schools like we do with English language. If you don't pass the subject, you don't get promoted. This way, by the time students are at secondary level, they can read and write properly in the language. Then, perhaps, we can start considering using the language to learn science subjects like physics. 3 Likes |

Brandiebird:This is it. You ask your host how you can help out then let them tell you what to do and not do. It's not that complicated. Everyone is not the same. Some people may want you to do nothing. Some will want you to do something. This is why you should ask. In this case, the boyfriend should be the bridge between his girl and his family. The boyfriend knows his family. So, he should already have briefed her on how to present herself which includes if she is going to help out in the kitchen or not. For me, if I'm taking a girl to meet my mum, I must have already decided to marry her, so I would personally want her to join my mum to do a little in the kitchen just for the sake of bonding. I'm only interested in girls who genuinely like cooking, so doing that will be fun for her. |

steeltrust:The only fool here is you. You didn't even realize that it's not the person you quoted that replied to you. See how foolish you are? I have no intention whatsoever to argue who the GOAT is. That debate has long been settled. You lots can continue wallowing in self-delusion by thinking you can choose your own GOAT by ignoring all the stats. It's okay. It's your mind. You can decide to not use your brain. I only just corrected your false claims that you CR7 fans are happy for Messi. ![]() 4 Likes |

steeltrust:CR7 fans are not respecting neither are they happy for Messi. You lots have just been humbled without a choice. Messi has left you with your tails between your feet, your face in the mud and your head in the sand. You don't have a choice than to be meek, because you have run out of things to use as a weapon of ridicule. Any attempt at discrediting him now makes you come off as consummate reta.rds. Go and hide your faces or tender an apology for being such haters. Don't come here to counter any banter no matter how provocative. You guys did worse. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

oluwaseyi0:The beating mostly occurs in public schools. Even though they don't pay school fees, there are times when students might be asked to contribute for some things or pay for some things. The students that don't pay get flogged until they pay. It's horrible and sometimes traumatic to the child in the long run. |

LeonSaab:Oga rest. Nobody is claiming it's a no man's land. It's a Yoruba Land. However, the growth of Lagos is to be attributed to all tribes in Nigeria. It would be ridiculous of you to ignore the fact that igbos have contributed economically to the growth of Lagos. You lots are just too insecure. Igbos are not claiming it's a no man's land. What is happening is you have been trying to disenfranchise the igbos living in Lagos which is illegal. As long as we are all Nigerians, we have the right to vote in any state we are based in for any candidate of our choice, even if you don't like the candidate. If you have an issue with a candidate, if you think he isn't qualified, if you think he isn't Yoruba, you Yorubas should sue him to court and take him out. Simple. No other tribe will meddle in this. The only thing the other tribes in Lagos can do is vote for any of the candidates presented in the state. That's all. If I live in Kano state, I will vote for the candidate of my choice to be Governor, even though I'm not Hausa. If I live in Calabar, I will vote for my candidate of choice to be the Governor of Cross River state eventhough I'm not from the state. It's only in Lagos that I've been seeing Yorubas saying other tribes should not come out to vote. |

GRV is not Igbo. He is Yoruba by origin. If GRV is Igbo, Desmond Elliot must be Igbo too I guess. Bankole WELLINGTON must be Igbo too. Don't you people get tired of being slaves? At least, try someone new who isn't attached to Tinubu's strings. Vote Gbadebo if you have sense. Lagos gets too much revenue and should by now be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Have you asked yourselves where all the money is going into? Grow a brain please. |

Op, you don't have sense. It's not by studying law and politics. If I knew your fiancée, I would advice him not to marry you. You would make a terrible wife with such mentality. You are supposed to be on the same team with your husband-to-be. Arguing with your man is not attractive at all, especially in an issue as sensitive as this. It's irritating and disgusting. You're not even married yet and you're already going against his wish. I can't imagine what you would do after marriage. If you have sense, you would allow the man to lead. Stop trying to be a smartass. 2 Likes |

Iamgrey5:It's not as much a matter of the states that are closest to Lagos than it is a matter of how many states' indigens reside in Lagos. The south western states are not more than six. Now, consider people from the 30 other states (SE, SS, NW, NC, NE) living in Lagos. Obviously, the non-Yorubas are way more than the Yorubas living in Lagos. What you can say is Yoruba has the highest population if we start considering individual tribes in Lagos. Again, with this knowledge, it's easy to see how Tinubu wouldn't have gotten up to 25% votes in Lagos, because pretty much all the non-Yorubas and unbiased Yorubas voted Obi. |

Aldol:All tribes voted for Peter obi. You guys supporting BAT make it seem like PO only had votes from the igbos. The reality is that all ethnic groups including some unbiased Yorubas voted PO in Lagos. Anambra and Lagos are not the same. While Anambra's population is majorly constituted by igbos and so we can see that is one of the reasons why Obi floored Tinubu there without rigging, the same can't be said for Lagos. Lagos is a coalition of all the ethnic groups in Nigeria. Hence, it's easy to see how Tinubu was completely floored there since tribal influence was negligible due to the diversity of the population. The same happened in Abuja. |

Iamgrey5:You assume the votes were equally distributed across all polling units. Regardless, 20 in a polling unit for an unwanted party is not surprising. After all, LP had less than 20 in a lot of the rigged polling units. But that seemed to make sense to you I guess. |

Iamgrey5:APC originally got about 100k+ votes in Lagos. That's not up to 25%. 1 Like |

Badgers14:Where was their goal keeper when Saudi put two goals in his net? Where was their goal keeper when they needed to beat Mexico and Poland to qualify out of the group stage? Who rose to the occasion, Messi or their goal keeper? Did Messi not open the scoring with a sublime goal against Australia? Did Messi not give Netherlands' defense so much trouble that he converted a penalty and provided an unbelievable assist which put them 2 goals up? Why did the keeper concede two goals afterwards which forced the game into an extra time? Where was their goal keeper when Messi and Alvarez destroyed Croatia? He was chilling all through that match, because Croatia had no shots on target. I'm not even going to mention how Mbappe's 2nd goal in the final should have been saved, since the keeper was the best player, according to you. And how Messi had to score again to put them ahead again in the game. You see how dumb your post was? I do not mean to downplay Emi Martinez's heroics, but I just had to point these things out since you chose to Downplay Messi's performance in the world cup. It's not just hype. The guy really performed. He outperformed every other player. He played this world cup with everything he's got, because it's his last. That said, both Messi and Martinez would not be world cup winners today if they both didn't rise to the occasion when needed the most. Anyway, Martinez was given the Golden glove award, so I don't know what you're talking about. That's the award usually giving to keepers for their great performance. I hope you Ronaldo fanboys get over this grief asap. CR7 lost. Messi won. Get over it. 3 Likes 1 Share
