Romance / Re: Paradox Of Money And Women by GL(f): 12:09pm On Feb 02, 2010 |
H2O2: many girls who do this pay back in sex. they know the guy won't marry them, just wants to have fun so they trade fun for money. for a serious guy who wants to marry the woman, she'll be wife, mother, manager of the house. she'll make sure all the menial housework is done. she might even have a career herself and contribute to the family income. |

OMO IBO: he possibly became more confident = more attractive. i know some women go after guys for money, and that's very wrong. but everyone wants to share in a good thing. personally, i think if a girl turns a guy down when he's poor (for any reason) she shouldn't go after him if he becomes rich. if he keeps coming after her, that's another issue. |

toluxa1: come on, 3k for the best birthday gift? for a lady? don't even think of perfume, she'll stone you with it! spend time with her and shower her with love. make something (craft) for her, take her somewhere. if you must buy a gift with that amount, go for something that wouldn't look cheap at that price. for example, a book if she likes to read. madlady: 8 - 12 GBP |
Romance / Re: Why Do Nigerian Women Hate Mixed-race/asian Women Who Marry Nigerian Men? by GL(f): 11:09am On Feb 02, 2010 |
i don't hate women of other races who marry nigerian men, men are free to marry from any race they choose to. i think majority of nigerian women feel the same too. it's only women who had their eyes on you that would care. like others have advised, don't bother yourself about what people think. |
Romance / Re: She's Pregnant! by GL(f): 10:44am On Feb 02, 2010 |
you may think you still love her and can forgive her but you'll probably always resent her for this. so spare yourself a lifetime of resentment with her and break up with her. if she loved you she wouldn't have run into your friend's arms because of a 1-week quarrel. |

i've not listened to many christian metal songs, would check them out. some of the ones i've listened to and like are Switchfoot, jars of clay, barlowgirl, sonic flood, third day, kutless, the afters, relient k. but i prefer christian contemporary/alternative music: casting crowns, chris tomlin, michael w. smith, jeremy camp, avalon, mercy me, david crowder band, Hillsong, tenth avenue north etc, they're just terrific! bluespice: i also like Relient K, Be My Escape was once my anthem. |

Romance / Re: Wants Marriage,but Am Not Ready. by GL(f): 11:15pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
@ Udiculus, don't let your girlfriend pressurize you into getting engaged, don't do it without your family's knowledge. you have just one more year to go b4 graduation so focus on that for now. tell her to focus on her own studies too, if you're only 23 why is she pressurizing you for marriage? it's possible her friends her getting married and she doesnt want to feel left out. there's more to marriage than that so you have to stand your ground. let her know you love her but you are not ready, you need to be working first. if she loves you she should understand and wait. @ vfocus, only God knows who is sincere. if you do travel to nigeria, make sure you have an open return ticket so if things go awry you can go back immediately. |

Romance / Re: Would Share Your Password With You Spouse by GL(f): 10:12pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
yes i would share, we should be able to trust each other with such private details. but i dont expect him to start checking up on me all the time cos i won't be checking his email/fb/myspace. if he does that, i might change my passwords and not tell him. but sometimes for forums like NL, it's not bad to keep your password & ID private because you might make a comment on some marriage issue that would cause problems at home. |

Family / Re: How Do You Deal With An Overstaying Mother In Law by GL(f): 8:21pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
FL Gators: i just watched the clip, patience ozokwor sef? but how do you know that the wife did not already greet in the morning, or is it everytime she works into a room she should greet the mother in law? but i think it's rude to whisper into someone's ears when he's having a meeting (with his mom or anyone else). it's plain rude, she could have sent him a text message instead. goose1: that's the point i was trying to make earlier, that many times it's not what people plan for but things like terminal illnesses that cause a woman to move into her child's house. people say that they should go to the village and all, but what about today's parents who never lived in the village? the city is their only home, and there's no neighbour (or friend's daughter) that would go and give them the care they need daily. sometimes even a maid is not good enough. now nigerians are becoming more health conscious and many people will live longer but with terminal illnesses. maybe we should start setting up nursing homes/hospices in nigeria. |
Sports / Re: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by GL(f): 8:04pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
nene1: nah, i don't think so. the outside world have got eyes to watch the matches so they too should be able to tell by the egyptian's style of play that they are good. besides, they've got a well organized league too and that counts in their favour. their players are very used to themselves unlike players of other west african teams who play all over the world and have different styles. that egypt is winning repeatedly just means they understand west african football well. the world cup has more or less become the property of western europe & south america (and only a few countries in all), but that doesn't make it a mockery to all the other participating continents. even good teams have their bad days. Bennyboy11: i think so too. i'll be rooting for them come june. can't count on nigeria getting a quarter final ticket over greece, but i think a full-squad ghana can. |
Sports / Re: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by GL(f): 7:43pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
chic2pimp: good for them then, but what do we (nigeria) have? just a world cup ticket, which we'll probably use up during the group stages. shesi: don't call nigerians bad belle after that comment but seriously, even ghana failed to qualify for world cups back then when they were the african champions. yes, qualifying for the world cup is more difficult than winning 7 games at the ANC, but we're praising egypt for more than 7 games in 1 tournament. they have 3 successive tournament wins! that's unprecedented, so please don't put it down. by the way, egypt's failure to qualify for the world cup doesn't make them better than any team that qualified. but i agree with you that the future is bright for the ghanian team, wish i could say that for SE |
Sports / Re: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by GL(f): 7:22pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
ayettymama: yeah, sad. but that's football, the game isn't over till the final whistle. ghana was too defensive and they were really holding on for extra time. the ghanians tried anyway, hopefully they'll perform even better at the world cup. shesi: ghana played well and should be proud of their team. but don't deceive yourself, egypt isn't nothing. they've won the last 3 tournaments and they've beaten all the 'big' west african teams each time. they're good! nene1: final matches are always hard, and many are decided by a lone goal. besides ghana scored just one goal in most of the matches they won. this doesn't take anything away from the ghanians, they'll be a team to watch out for in coming tournaments. to all those saying 'egypt isn't good', 'we play better football' and all that stuff, just take a look at the facts. it's the results that count in football, and it's the egyptians who've been delivering good results on the continent in recent times. they might not do well outside the continent, but which african team really does well outside anyway? they were the best from the beginning of the tournament, so take your advice, put sentiments aside, and lets praise the team that deserves praise. |
Sports / Re: Nations Cup Final: Ghana Vs. Egypt [0 - 1] by GL(f): 7:00pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
egypt deserve the win, they were the best side throughout the competition. ghana tried in this game but they are too defensive. they seemed to be holding on for extra time. they are a young team so there's still more to look forward to. i would be happier if nigeria would win the nations cup but miss the world cup. at least they'd have a trophy. most of the african countries go out in the group stages of the world cup so what's the point? at the end of this year egypt might just be the only african country with a trophy. |
Romance / Re: Why Do Women Love To Marry Medical Doctors? by GL(f): 6:00pm On Jan 31, 2010 |
aloy-emeka: of course we're not freaks! being out of tune with normal dating doesn't make them freaks. so many female medical students/doctors date & marry other professionals. but for those who insist on fellow doctors, it sometimes because they cannot reconcile the demands of their careers with the demands of a normal relationship (with a non-medical practitioner). some guys actually get jealous when their dr. gf has to call off dates. so the women decide to stick with male doctors, who they expect will be more understanding. also, some female medical students have no social lives outside medical school. residency is even more demanding, so after spending about 10 years amongst doctors, and making very little effort to date/have friends outside med. school/hospital it's understandable for a woman to be more attracted to (or feel she's better off with) doctors. for some reason it seems like the male doctors/med. students manage to have really good social lives outside school/work. it might be due to the fact that would-be gfriends 'understand' that they are busy and expect them to be unavailable a lot. |
Family / Re: How Do You Deal With An Overstaying Mother In Law by GL(f): 10:58am On Jan 31, 2010 |
H2O2: apparently, a number of nigerian mothers-in-law are wicked and want to be nuisances. see vivalavida's story: this naija movie, this mother had been pestering her son to get married, he finally did. after marriage mama comes to stay wiv them( which i dont understand , cos as a newly wed i wld wnt to spend time alone wiv my husband and sleep with every where possible in the house, while howling like a were wolf during a full moon) any way mama comes to stay oooo and sudenly turns in to wat u can only discribe at the B-i-t-c-h from the hottest part of hell, one day wifey was like mama your food is ready come and eat, mama is like no i dont want to eat ( rather nastily0 wifey goes haba mama ave prepared your fav food, come and eat please, mama is like i said i dont want to eat, mama come and eat now, na him mama dash wifey one hot slap, i said i dnt want to eat r u deaf |
