Romance / Re: Single Vs Dating: Who Is Happier? by Gracious10: 3:05am On Oct 12, 2012
dasparrow:

Which love? Do Nigerians know what genuine love is? Most Nigerians get married not for love but just to secure societal status and approval. Others marry for financial security. Most married women in Nigeria look like crap because Naija men and their families waste no time in beating the crap outta them at the slightest provocation.

With the staggering divorce rate in Nigeria, marriage is becoming a risk and when the man dies before the woman, you will be stigmatized as a widow and accused of killing him. However, if you marry a westerner, then you will be better of because they know how to pamper and love their women unlike most African men.

Lastly, what makes you happy does not make the next person happy. Not everybody wants to give up their personal space and have you all up in their face all in the name of being in love. You can love from a distance too and still remain happy. Happiness is relative after all.

I am single, focused and happy. I don't need to babysit anyone. Men can be tedious work.

That is why he needs a capable Commissioner of Education. That said, his action to me seem barbaric because nothing was said about them inquiring from those concerned why they came late or were absent from work. Besides, that people did not come to school for reasons we did not ascertain makes them less diligent right?

Is there a reason why other people signed them in when they weren't there? Am sure they must have asked their partners in crime to do such for them. If these issues just came up recently, then we may consider inquiring what or what didn't happen. If you schooled in naija, you know the attitudes of teachers, u know their I don't care attitude. This has been on for a long time. I hope he fires them permanently!

2mch: Very good. Too many lazy people in Nigeria. No wonder the kids are failing. When the teachers are absent, how are the kids going to lern? Who will teach? If they have other business keeping them away from work, now they have plenty time on their hands to attend to their various businesses. I think teachers all over the country should take assessment tests in their field of work. A lot of their qualifications are in very big doubt. Especially for government schools. Some cant even speak english or express themselves. Some dont even know what they are teaching.

And is that the best way to resolve this challenge? Does he visits schools everyday? And what is the function of his Commissioner for Education? People often times do not know their constitutional duties.

Yes, that's the best way to resolve it. Atleast some of these teachers will sit up. You keep forgetting that the best judge is our conscience. What happened to it? When u r given a job, do it diligently! The Gov doesn't need to visit schools everyday, the teachers needs to be in school everyday and on time too. All these lawless supporters club is unnecessary. if commissioner for Education can't do his job. Someone else can.

It's only when thieves visit ur house and rob u of ur prized possessions then u call naija a lawless nation but u as individuals are more lawless than those thieves. What u teach them is what they give back to u. There are people looking for a job and ready to be diligent about it. Lawless can never grow a nation.

oyin50: . Thank u jor. All Nigerians want is always a pat on the back. Even in the U.S, you fight you go to jail, no compromises, there's actually a law where if kids miss school the parent goes to jail. Nigerians wants to run red lights if any, fight in public, jump cues, trash anything just anywhere, drink and drive all with impunity. The truth is I think a larger chunk of the populace do not really want societal change they only want money to oppress the financially unpriviledged.

In a sound economy, you can decide to stay off your working place for up to 3 years in you 're ill. Only Gods knows if he even tried to find out what the these people's reasons of being absent was.

If u r ill? Yes u get paid. But if u are not nko? I live in sound economy and I can tell u unemployment are not for lazy bones. Now u talking sound economy..let's look at it this way.

1. How about calling to inform ur boss u would be late or u r stuck in traffic?

2. How about call-in in sick? Am sure that would have been on record.

3. How about someone signing in for u where u r not there? infact where I work, u sign in with ur finger prints.. So who has same thumb print as u? . So none is signing for u. If u r not there, u r not there! No wuruwuru in that.
You see Nigerians scream of change yet they lack it individually! You mean to tell me he's not investigated these issues before he fired them? How many of these teachers can be late everyday and still except to retain their jobs in sound economy? When we see things, can we pls apply the good ones if not for anything but for our conscience.

When I was in sec school, for 2 months, no teacher has stepped into class. It's not as if they are on strike. But if u go to their offices, either they are absent or present gossiping or even selling their merchandise. Pls call spade a spade!

If the state was to to pay the unemployment benefits to those dismissed , he would have think twice before taking that action.

I don't get u. If u were laid off, u get unemployment benefits. But if you were fired, u r on ur own. Nobody pays u for being responsible for ur misfortune except u lie that u were laid off. It's hard to get unemployment benefits if u were fired. That's if I get ur drift.

My dear if what you mean by fancy is the no.7 in the definitions above, then that preacher is right, you should do away with those fancy stuffs you've got, as you can see what the bible says.

No, am very moderate in whatever I do as I also hate to over do things. I don't wear weavons, I braid or do a simple perm. This man of God is against anything artificial. I am one of his e-church followers. I have become so addicted to him that I play his messages anywhere but convincing me that in this country that is as cold as ice especially during winter, that I shouldn't wear trousers and jewelry. Am sorry, I no gree. I have seen all cover up sisters very mean and wicked! Did the the religion of no trousers change their inner self, Nope. Evidence of salvation first comes from within! Issue is that u found him doing something.
The fact the he proved to be responsible shows that's he isn't just gonna fold his hands and count the stars. He will be out there combing the streets for a job. Better still he will invent one no matter how little. Or even do odd jobs.

1. Am not a guy
2. I don't live in Nigeria
3. I know how most bums like you sits on the couch and watch the ladies bring in the Bacon.
4. How about a man bringing goodluck to his wife? That one na crime?
5. How about you studying ur bible or whatever religious book straight up than upside down?

I don't understand how men of these days Belive this crap that a woman you should be protecting, shielding turns around and picks up the tab yet they joyfully mentions it.
What kind of men are they breeding these days?
Right from time, men are never ever known to be spoon fed. They know their priority is to be responsible and responsibility is providing for their family!
Any man waiting for a woman to help him rise is a serious Anumpam period!
It's even annoying when they don't make efforts to work.
This isn't about being rich, its about getting a job, have a sense of fulfilment that your hands are busy providing for ur family.
Even if he's collecting cans, works in a restaurant,a cleaner, cashier, the Issue is that he's got something doing and no correct headed woman will see such determination and not give credit to such man.

Again, men should get a job before marriage!! It is common arithmetic!

Dignitary: I love Nigerians...

So gullible and sheepish!!!

Someone who is not a journalist, whose view is not authoritative..someone who has not elicited any evidence to show that Pastor Adeboye indeed said all he has alleged said the man of God said 'don't marry frm RCCG' and y'all believe!!! So sick!!!

Many have not only believed but they have started hurling insults at the man of God...Well, I now know the reason why so many ppl have problems without knowing the cause of their problems.

My friends, let's exercise caution when we talk about men of God!!! Even if u don't believe they are men of God, it will do u a whole lot of good if u exercise restraints...God can do anything to ppl that despise his prophets and pastors !!! He's a consuming fire!!!

Assuming but not conceding that he said all you said, I believe the context in which that was said must be considered too!!! Sincerely speaking, I believe Christians from different denominations can marry each other!!! My Bible does not tell me otherwise and I do believe that Pastor Adeboye will share this view since he allows Pastors from other churches to preach in RCCG!!!

But if indeed he said all these, it must not be isolated from the context in which he said it!!! It's end time guys...D devil is desperately Interested in bringing down men of God that are constant threats to his kingdom!!! DON'T ALLOW URSELF TO B USED BY THE devil

God bless u abundantly!

Really? Does God really appear to tell u someone is ur wife? I think what we need is Gods guidance and complete attention to the word. I don't Belive in "God said u r my partner" not that I don't Belive Gods unique way of talking to us but when it comes to emotional issues like this, I bet u, people hear from their feelings not God! They even dream of what they feel. He who has the spirit of God, has the ability to discern what's right or wrong. There will surely be a witness in ur spirit which is in accordance with Gods word.

So Ladies, r u expecting him to jst toast u plainly witout inputing "God said dis n God said that".

What if one starts dating, say, 2 yrs to getting married and after about a year and half of the first relationship fails. Luckily finds someone else and has got to date for @least a year and half before tying the knot. This would imply overshooting ones deadline for marriage.

In essence, why not say 4-5 years (or longer) so as to make time (not intentionally though) incase there would be any failed relationships? U can never tell!

These are not deadlines but suggestive of what's proper. But please understand that the estimated time is for one single relationship at a time. If one fails and you find another, its a different r/ship and should be gives same amount of time.

When r/ship fails is the time to set ur self apart to figure out what happened with the previous one and how to tackle such issues so they don't resurface in subsequent r/ships. I will say give urself at least 4-6 months before starting another.

so tell me what are the qualities u want in a man u want to get married to? must he be as rich as abacha?

Not waiting for any unbelieving rich man. Riches are least of what I expect or want in a man. Man must be a genuine born-again. Can't compromise my faith for anything. Where I am located, its really hard to find men who are genuinely thirsty for God.(its usually people who seek God for what they expect to get from God) Since am yet to find such man with this number one quality, every other qualities will wait. And I choose to wait.
