I have no blames for the woman, neither do I have for any other person that indulges.... We do not leave in Isolation. Over 60% of the goods in the market are imported and if the woman will still buy other items she needs from the proceeds of her sales then you see that she'll be the most cheated if she doesn't increase her prices. She doesn't eat and wear only palm oil. I am not an expert in economics and don't know much about what influences pricing but I sure know that in this country and everywhere else where people largely depend on imported goods, the value of currency will affect prices of goods and even services locally made or imported. My Opinion though. 2 Likes |

mofy1: Well, I understand your frustration...a lot of other persons, myself inclusive equally feel frustrated by the 'seemingly long' wait for subsequent episodes in this thread. But you don't have call out Madam Peju like that if you really have followed from october like you said. Remember she's married and have kid(s) I guess....remember that sometime last year she lost a parent (am not sure who again). Also, remember that she has a job that might be equally demanding. Then also know that this is a work in progress not some ready-to-upload story. When you consider all of the above and you really want to be objective and realistic in your judgement, then you might as well take some chill and wait till she's ready to update. It really takes a lot of inspiration to put together a good story with such details and brilliance as she's been doing. Just stop checking the thread as frequently as you 'apparently' do, find some other....... Madam Peju Amadi... Please send in some updates the soonest you can, emotions are boiling........ you have done a great job nonetheless. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Sports / Re: Man City Ace Toure Blasts African Players: Where's The Ambition?! by grandx88: 7:20am On Nov 04, 2015 |
Very true, and it's really shameful. I wonder if they don't hear about the CR7s and Messis of this world. How they put in extra efforts and improve their game season to season. But then, I think this players get easily satisfied because of the huge gulf in class between European and African nations. Suddenly becoming a multi millionaire boggles their minds and provides a satisfaction that most of them may never find the motivation to surpass...that's why Mikel, having spent ages in Chelsea, has not had the ambition to move elsewhere or improve his game (he doesn't take set pieces, he doesn't shoot, he doesn't assist goals, and ultimately doesn't score). Smh. 4 Likes |

Sports / Re: Why I Removed Enyeama As Eagles Captain ā Oliseh by grandx88: 9:56am On Oct 08, 2015 |
adioolayi: Hey man, theirs(Brazil and Argentina) were definitely not done this way. Argentina I remember even made their decision public. The country's FA and Coach had a private discussion with Masch and later announced to the world with Masch confirming it that Messi would become team captain...that it was for the best of the Team. There're better ways to do things, Oliseh must learn to be a leader and coach and it starts with managing the people under him and maintaining peace in the Camp. They got it wrong with the timing. Period. I wish them the Best anyways. 1 Like |

Nawa o. Well, Even though my own youwin2014 case seem dead and buried, i just thought to make a suggestion to u guys. I think you guys are yet to exploit the power of social media. The last election period showed all of us how powerful the social media is especially Nairaland. The decision makers in this country visit nairaland and co daily.... This youwin group is on nairaland but your plight haven't made it to front page yet. (Is it difficult to make this happen?) There's no youwin related Hashtag trending on twitter yet. (This is very easy to activate na!) LindaIkeji hasn't carried the story too (disturb linda and she'll yield). Maybe you guys should come up with a social media campaign strategy first, make noise about how much money government has sppent so far, how much job you have created so far and how all that effort will be in vain if the govt refuses to complete your payment. Just short summarised story of each person's business ordeal so far and post with the hashtag...get all affected persons to join as well. Implementing this strategy is less stressful and less expensive than the march/protest. It has been proven overtime that such campaigns always reach the desired targets and yield results. Well, I think leading a march or protest to Abuja should be your last resort, if the above doesn't work. These are just my humble suggestions. #my2Kobo. Wish you guys all the best. |

"I think it's pride that stops so many people from getting rich, lots of people don't want to get their hands dirty and work or the fear of what people will say stops them from doing things that will better their life. It's even in the Bible that pride goes before a fall. . If I didn't get my hand dirty and did these things, I wouldn't have been where I am today." Lots of wisdom from this former hustler... Stockfish diving is a hustle not for the faint-hearted. Kudos Toochi, this project should be gearing up for the next level. U can do it bro. 1 Like |

blink182: @blink.... There are close to 600 posts on this thread and if u go through them, u'll find only one credited to grandx88...and in that single post of mine, I did not in anyway suggest that people shouldn't air their opinion, I rather just aired mine which is not in anyway oppressive or hateful. I have admired ur previous posts that bordered on Youwin application issues, but this new political vibe has got the whole thread messy. 1 Like |

I don't get it. What has politics got to do with extensions. Don't let politics becloud your sense of reasoning. For ur information, the government can decide to scrap Youwin totally irrespective of the stage of the programme we have got to, whenever they deem necessary. My friend (a beneficiary of YOUWIN3) dat advised me to apply recounted how he heard about it on the last day of application and later heard of an extension to 21st Jan 2014 (it wasn't election period, mind u), he applied and won 8.5M. It took 1 full year before disbursement of funds. (The stages and processes take lots of time) I heard that there was even a year that there were more than 1 deadline extensions. You guys should stop this petty and partisan reasoning. See dis as an opportunity for so many other bright ideas that will move the economy of this country forward (but haven't heard yet or are having some difficulties with application) to key in just like you have...stop grumbling and see the positives. 5 Likes |

I still remember vividly that session long NUT/NLC strike of 2002 in Anambra. You and your (then) dog Mbadinuju sat and watched children lose upto one full session of academic time for over 10months while teachers were even owed for over a year and u have d guts to talk about 3months owed salaries...God will judge u Obj. We don't deserve this old men. Old tasted and failed statesmen claiming to be the CHANGE we need. I'd rather we remain where we are than change for the worse. Lying old men playing with our memory. |

OrlandoOwoh: Agreed (for the purpose of this discussion)... Do not be in a hurry to insult people, or assume that one can write with his brains blocked. ...to the matter, I'll assume that a Nigerian Colonel being sent to the war colleges would require not a lot more than evidences of his qualifications as well a recommendation from the school sending him. I din't make any conclussions andI won't claim to know more than I actually do, and I'll advice you not to either. But I have read enough books and journals to know that one didn't necessarily need to be very qualified to be in the Nigerian Millitary training college back then. Aren't you tired of this whole certificate saga? Is it not as simple as obtaining due acknowledgements and clarifications from WAEC that the then young Buhari took WASSCE exams in 'so so' year and save the world dis whole stress?...in other words, if u lost your WASSCE cert and you later have a grave need for it (in order to become the President of Nigeria)..... I believe that one should go to all lengths even if it means requesting for the exam sheets.......just my thought. 5 Likes |

I have seen medical students go through the UNI for several years...through all the rigours involved and then expelled/disqualified once evidence of dishonesty from d outset is exposed...this is irrespective of the student's academic standings in the Med. Sch. Severally have I witnessed dis scenario. The law should apply to all Nigerians equally.... The Quota system is one of the ugliest and most disheartening issue in our history in this nation. Where persons from the south can be easily disqualified for not reaching a set benchmark while the northerners only have to declare interest. If dat was the basis for Buhari's admission into the NA in the 60s (which now looks very likely), then he shouldn't just be disqualified from contesting, he should also face the law and all its stipulations. I pray it doesn't get that messy though. It so sad that we find ourselves in a situation where we have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea. Where mediocrity is rewarded. So bad. 15 Likes |

Investment / Re: Investors Chat Room And Lounge by grandx88: 10:00pm On Dec 01, 2013 |
I want to believe that there are some serious minded investors here. I have a passion for laundry and cleaning services business and have been actively involved in the industry since 2011. I have a plan to run a well repackaged and customer friendly laundry scheme in PortHarcourt with an high growth potential. I need an investment of about 600k and am hoping to meet an interested individual. Am also willing to offer a certain % of equity of the business in exchange for your money. The plan is very feasible and easy to comprehend. Knowing fully well that it's near impossible to get private/angel investors in Nigeria, am still positive that something positive can come up from this attempt. If you know someone or have a link to a reliable contact for this kind of investment, I'll appreciate you share. Thanks. |

Idi Amin: I have to respond to your observations because of your high sense of responsibility. Think about it this way, do you think Ngige will intentionally disrespect a traditional institution. The Ngige I know may be stubborn but he is a not that silly. It's either he was not aware of that ofala or the opposition set that trap for him. Let me ask you, if not for Nairaland, were you aware of the ofala festival? |
