I got to the the British council to apply for a student visa today and was shocked when i gathered that there have been series of refusals in the past few weeks owing to the UKBA inability to contact some schools for verification. I tried all the phone number of my schl written on top of my trnscript but none was functioning. An agent the advised that applicants should ge letter of attestation from their shcools that will contain the functional contacs, I just put forth this so that ppl should take note and work on this.
Meanwhile, i want tl know if it is advisable or neccessary to make the application thru agent such as PFL coz i met an agent who was talking as if one can not personally make the application. Pls can somebody tell me the danger of applying without an agent. Thanks


Actually. Please Get a Letter from your School about how they can be contacted. some schools use old and non-functional numbers and emails. so try and get. because they want to be able to make a decision in 3wks and not more.
so I strongly advise ppl should add a means to which their schools can be contacted because IF THEY CANT VERIFY U WILL BE REFUSED AND IF THEY VERIFY AND UR DOCUMENTS ARE FALSE U WILL BE REFUSED AND GET A TEN YEAR BAN.
ALSO DO NOT ADD EXTRA DOCUMENTS YOU DONT NEED because THEY WILL SLOW DOWN THE PROCESS OF YOUR APPLICATION . YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT THE ECO IS A HUMAN BEING.

thanks guy. I contacted VFS not BDHC and I told them i have my statement of result (which arent laminated) and that my degree can be verified online and i was told to include all of this in my letter. Though i have sent a mail since friday to get concrete info.

@justwise and Sussexwise. thanks Very much. I called the VFS Helpline to ask on wot to do. They tolds me to write a letter. My degree is from India. And Ucan't be given a degree twice in any school unless U have lost ur degree. Though my degree can be Verified on the Internet and i have my complete statement of result. Wot i was told by the VFS is write a letter explaining this to the british high commission and include all other documents to back it up. Pls can some help me with a format for such a letter. I have deferred my admission to october.

I have contacte the school and they will send me a "to whom it a concern" by email on monday. how about that

march 1st but i can defer.

What I mean is the Original certificate is Laminated and the form says i must submit the Original Certificate.
But the Uk visa site says they dont collect laminated documents.

Thanks justwise. But the form states i must submit the original and photocopies will not be entertained. My friend submitted his and got his Visa last year. Dont U think I should accompany it with a letter.

I was denied a Uk visa about 10yrs ago(but my old passport wasn't stamped)
I was denied French visa last year in may.

Does that reduces my chances of getting it. Is this ''bad immigration record'' pls help me on what to do.
