Literature / Never Like Using These Words And Phrases. by gudtime4us: 6:59pm On Jul 24, 2009
They sound really odd, but they are correct. I avoid them as much as I can:

- Its HIGH TIME,
It sounds odd that the following word has to be in past tense. E.g. Its high time we left the place. How odd!!

- DUNNIT. UHURU.
Are they even English words? Culumnists use them alot. For example, they will say 'who dunnit?' and 'its not yet uhuru , '

- What perfume are you WEARING?
How can someone wear perfume?

- I have black PANTS.
Calling trousiers PANTS really sounds odd to me.

- I WISH I ,
I'm always confused as to whether the following word should be in past or present tense.

- DEBT.
I hate pronouncing it as DEATH.

- DIAGNOSE. HYPNOTIZE.
I never call these words once and correctly.

And so many more that I avoid like a monster. Do you have similar case?
Business / Re: Somebody Emptied My Bank Account: Are Banks Safe Afterall? by gudtime4us: 3:18pm On May 25, 2009
Thanks house for your encouraging words. I want to say that I'm very to some extend that I never and will never disclose my card and PIN numbers to anybody, especially the on - line thing. I don't even have many friends that I can suspect. Friends, lets be prayerful, things are really happening. I have even been the one warning my friends and younger ones against any attempt to disclose their card and PIN numbers to ANYBODY. It still beats my imagination how they did it to me. Too bad!!
Business / Somebody Emptied My Bank Account: Are Banks Safe Afterall? by gudtime4us: 1:25pm On May 25, 2009
A very unpleasant thing happened to me on Tuesday, two weeks ago. I went to the ATM to get some money from the vey little I had in my account. I placed my order but what I got instead of the money was ' you have insufficient fund in your account'. I called my bank (UBA) immediately to get details of my account and I was told that I had withdrawn all the money I had the previous day from the ATM at Ibro hotel, Abuja. Never been to the hotel!!

That was when it dawned on me that I had been robbed. How they did it still remains a mystery to me 'cos nobody ever had access to my ATM card. But the same card was said to be used in withdrawing every kobo from my account. Too bad, especially for someone who is still struggling without a steady job. I have written to the bank and they say they are investigating the matter. What is the world turning to? What is becoming of this country? Why do the helpless and innocent continue to be cheated? Why me?? Untll it happened to me, I never knew such a thing could be possible.

Is the bank or the ATM safe afterall??

Politics / Re: Ayo Fayose; Is This How He Is? by gudtime4us: 2:53pm On Apr 21, 2009
sentiments apart.

Mr Fayose, is not matured enough to rule a local council in a NORMAL society.

My brother, no sane society will have the like of Fayose as a leader. I am never disputing the fact that Oni stole money or whatever, but the likes of Fayose should be confined to the ghettos and garages. I have got no personal score to settle with the man, but he really disappointed me with his uncultured manners. You needed to see him barking and shouting into the camara, throwing his fists here and there. Haba, a former Governor!!!
Politics / Ayo Fayose; Is This How He Is? by gudtime4us: 3:30pm On Apr 20, 2009
Untill this morning when I watched him talk on AIT, I thought he was a responsible man. Fayose sounded so uncultured, uneducated and very irresponsible. I have been wondering since then how on earth he became the governor of Ekiti state, a state said to have the highest number of Proffessors in Nigeria. I felt ashame and highly disappointed listening to this man talking the way he did this morning;20/04/09.

is ur fiancee a nigeria or a white person

She's black American. Thanks.

Dear poster, first of, your fiancé needs to get a passport, as most Americans don't have one. Then u need to send her an invitation letter just like any other embassy. Then she gets bank statements and pay stub together, get on the nigerian embassy website and apply for tourist visa.

Thanks. But this invitation letter, is there a formal one or just any one I can write?

Yes, many things sound/seem/feel real.

Its a pity!! Gone are the good old days when people were given sound and real advice here at nairaland. Now, things have fallen apart, the forum bastardized and miscreants all over making mockery of people. How the hell do you know that this's not real? Do you know the extent we have gone? I don't blame anybody.

Simple,you go there.

We thought of that but she's a bit skeptical about the whole thing, then she suggests coming down here. She has asked me to find out the processes that will bring her here and that's why I'm asking the house to help me out. She sounds real, and I'm dead real and serious. We have spoken on phone on so many occasions.

Thought it right to find solace and nice advice here. Please nairalanders, how do I bring my fiancee from US to Nigeria to get married to me? Useful advice could be posted here or sent to adunga4u@yahoo.com. Much thanks.
