Politics / Re: Lagos Signs MOU For Fourth Mainland Bridge by Helives: 7:00pm On May 25, 2016
If that is the case, I will rather have a "corrupt" Tinubu at the helms of affairs than "an incorruptible hero " whose almost 10 years in government cannot save his Oil rich Bayelsa state...

saintdennis:

I tire o... they just keep hating tinubu cos he orchestrated the democratic removal of their hero.

I always ask them what exactly GEJ ever did for bayelsa (forget the rest of ND) as a dep.gov, gov, vp and president.

All they can tell me is he built a school in otuoke.

I really can't phantom how any sane individual can tell me a sitting president with all the power and might vested in the office could not in conjunction with a loyal party man @ the helm of affairs in his state totally transform bayelsa, today they are crying foul about dwindling FG allocation.

They are disturbing buhari that they need a port @ ph abi where sef BUT. Gej was there FOR 6 YEARS he didn't give them seaport or 2nd Niger bridge yet he is their hero.

Just 1 year of pmb reign and lag already getting improved power supply (with fashola @ the helm) it's no coincidence.

Ethnicism/Tribalism is one bad mofo!

The world has actually moved on from hating people unnecessarily.. Tinubu is corrupt, he is chief landlord of Lagos and all those crap but Lagos state from the past 16 years has rapidly moved from one phase of development to another.. The impact of their hero in a small state like Bayelsa was not felt both as a Governor and as president.

saintdennis:

Good to know my comment has humbled you.

U started it by refering to your senior as 'generalismo of corruption' or u gonna debase yourself by claiming it's not tinubu you mocking.

Keep hating on tinubu and his legacy in lagos.

Next time don't insult people just cos ur fingers itching u.

... And here is the Governor of a state that has been acclaimed by some myopic thinkers as the best thing that has happened to them. Governance is not about public "show" but about connecting with your people through developmental project. Of what benefit is this attitude of Fayose to the development of Ekiti?

Politics / What Biafran Agitators Need To Ask Kanu Before Secession by Helives: 1:36am On Nov 05, 2015
.. What is your plan or blue print for the Biafra he envisions? How many states are gonna be in it? Has he gotten the tribes/Nigerian states buy-in to join Biafra? What will be the boundary of the new entity? What form or type of government would we run, what kind of currency/economy? The school system structure, healthcare, public sector, internal and external defense, budget? He (Kanu) has not been able to explain in real tangible tit bits how been a biafran citizen will add value to each Igbo man's present state... As in will he become better off or worse off in terms of his finances/business/ wealth....how will he convert the properties he had elsewhere to naira and bring it into Biafra? How will his cash be converted? What rate will be used? What is the biafran currency? Will it be recognized within and beyond Biafra as a legal tender? Will the average Igbo man have to start life all over again? How will his (the average Igbo man's) children who are already Nigerians treat their new citizenship? Will they want to be biafran or Nigerian? How will the social structure and system be like to re-orientate and integrate the new citizens? What will the banking system be like? How will he handle the power struggle and class struggle that will erupt from the creation of Biafra from Igbo sons and daughters who are already recognized figures... These and a lot more salient issues need to be addressed by Kanu/agitators/Igbo people as a lot before thinking of secession. If these issues and more are not addressed and a clear position on all achieved, the new state will be created, but it will immediately be saddled with huge problems and chaos due to the lack of a clear, workable and collectively agreed blue print and agenda to move forward #copied

Politics / PDP Can Never Govern Lagos – APC by Helives: 12:43am On Jul 03, 2015
PDP can never govern Lagos – APC
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress says it is impossible for the Peoples Democratic Party to take control of the state.

The APC, therefore, said it was not surprised that the Lagos State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal struck out a petition filed by the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Jimi Agbaje.

Prior to the court ruling, the PDP had hoped to upturn the victory of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and had expressed the confidence that Agbaje would ‘recover his stolen mandate’.

Reacting to the court’s ruling, however, the APC said it was obvious from the outset that Ambode’s victory would be reaffirmed.

In a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, the ruling party said that the possibility of the PDP winning the governorship race was as impossible as “a goat giving birth to a lion”.

It said the tribunal’s verdict remains a huge testimony that the people of the state know their leaders and their leaders know them.

The statement read, “The PDP in Lagos had said they did everything to win Lagos, including setting one ethnic group against the other, dishing out millions of dollars and pound sterling, unleashing ethnic militias like the Oodua People’s Congress, deploying security agencies, SURE-P outlaws and others to harass and intimidate Lagosians to succumb and surrender Lagos to them.”

“Lagos PDP failed because there is no meeting point between light and darkness, no meeting point between the serious and the unserious, no meeting point between conservatives and progressives, and no meeting point between performers and underperformers.

“How can you move a car forward by engaging the reverse gear? How can you plant cassava and hope to harvest yam? Can a goat give birth to a lion?

“The truth is that Lagos has always been in the hands of progressives since it was created in 1967 and the strong and dynamic Lagos will continue to remain in the hands of the progressives for a long time to come. Progressives will continue to strive for greater heights in raising standards not only in Lagos but the whole of Nigeria.”

While congratulating Ambode, the APC urged the governor to improve on the performance of his predecessor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola.

I guess this forum is fast loosing its relevance. We should all come here to deliberate and discuss how the country could be better and not rain insults on our selves, tribes and the Government.

EFCC arrest Ohakim for corruption, an Igbo man would complain, they arrested Fani-Kayode for corruption also the yoruba man did same, they arrested Nyako for corruption the Hausa/Fulain man would complain also, they arrested Silvia for corruption the Ijaw man also complained, Ibori was jailed for corruption the Niger-deltan's said it was not fair, if they arrest Dezani tomorrow, Niger-delta would complain, if Odua is jailed for corruption the south-east would want a break-up, if Babaginda is jailed for corruption the entire north will take up arms, if Fayoshe is impeached for wrong doings the west would be vexed. Senator's are getting huge pay against the good of all, Nigerians are complaining, Governors are loothing, Nigerians complain too, Buhari promised to fight corruption, Nigerians are complaining, Buhari has started the fight on corruption via EFCC, still Nigerians are complaining. What do Nigerians truely want for themselves? They want things to change but do not want change. Untill Nigerians do away with sentiments of tribe or religion they can never get a better nation where there would be justice, fairness, development and progress for all.
