Breaking!!! The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the winner of the Ede South State Constituency seat in Osun State.

According to the INEC Returning Officer, Muritala Monsuru, the PDP candidate Olayiwola Olalekan emerged as the victor in the Saturday poll. And this is after collating the votes from all the wards.

Despite the directive to commercial banks to accept and dispense the old Naira notes, states push for contempt charges against Malami and Emefiele.

This is according to Abdulhakeem Mustapha, SAN, the lead counsel for the three states. He said that the press statement released by CBN for banks to accept the old Naira notes was a mere camouflage to give the impression of compliance.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed May 22 to hear a suit filed by Ugochukwu Uchenwa, a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He is seeking to stop the conduct of elections and examinations on Saturdays.

The Labour Party (LP) has threatened to direct its members to occupy the offices of the INEC nationwide if the Commission refuses to allow its lawyers and agents to inspect the BVAS machines and other electoral materials.

The party’s Presidential Campaign Council accuses INEC of disregarding some court orders and selectively choosing which to obey.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with greatest impunity have refused, neglected and failed to obey the Order of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja made on the 03rd day of March 2023, directing it to grant the Labour Party and its presidential candidate H.E. Peter Gregory Obi leave to apply and receive from INEC, certified true copies of materials used in the presidential election held on 25th February 2023.

It will be recalled that the aforesaid Order of the presidential election petition tribunal was duly served on INEC on the 3rd of March 2023 despite the fact that they were present and represented at the tribunal when the Order was made.

Not minding the service of the said Order on INEC, and a reminder letter dated the 6th day of March 2023 and delivered the same date at the INEC Headquarters Abuja, the electoral umpire has continued to ignore and or disobey the valid Order of such magnitude till NOW.

It should be noted that in a democracy like ours, rule of law must triumph not only in our legal system but also in our body polity as a whole. Parties to a litigation like in the instant case must accept and obey every order of court in good faith and no party should be seen to employ self-help to disparage or disrespect an order of court which if not checked and curtailed could possibly undermine our democracy, rule of law and constitutionalism.

The action of INEC under reference also constitutes for all intent and purposes, an act of judicial insubordination and willful refusal to comply to the order of court.

As we speak INEC has chosen to obey the court order given to it to reconfigure the BIVAS machine, which they doing right now and ignoring the order granted to us to inspect electoral materials.

We therefore call on the general public to note the level of lawlessness and brazen disobedience to a lawful order of a court by an important statutory agency such as INEC, and which is a well calculated attempt to undermine and frustrate the presentation of the Petition by the Labour Party and its Presidential candidate before the tribunal in good time.

We therefore want to state that we will not fail to call our supporters to march to INEC offices nationwide in a nonviolent protest which is allowed by law.

Sad News in Nigeria!!! An 8-month pregnant woman was gang-raped in Abuja. Politainment.net reported that two cattle herders who pleaded guilty to abducting and raping the 8-month pregnant woman are in police custody.

In a shocking incident that occurred in Umunze, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State last week, a 72-year-old woman was a victim of a heinous act of violence. And this was perpetrated by her domestic worker, Onyebuchi Ezeh.
The elderly woman’s sexual organs and other parts of her body were cut off and harvested by the suspect for money rituals.

Atiku Abubakar has lashed out at Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Hon. Ginger Onwubibe has emerged as the winner in Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal constituency. The winning is of the recent election held on Saturday.

According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Onwubibe polled a total of 20,411 votes. He defeated his closest rival, Professor A. C. B Agbazuere of the ruling PDP. A. C. B scored 13,508 votes.

Labour Party’s Peter Obi emerges Winner in Suleja LGA of Niger State. Peter Obi is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP). Reports have it he has won the presidential election in Suleja LGA of Niger state.

Suleja, a suburb of Abuja. And it is known for being one of the biggest markets in the area. The results of the presidential election from the 10 electoral wards showed that Obi scored 16,978 votes. And this is according to Dr Hussaini Musa, the official of the INEC.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has emerged victorious at polling unit 021 in Ojodu Berger. And this is where James Faleke, the Campaign Secretary to the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Bola Tinubu, cast his vote.

In the House of Representatives contest, Faleke won with 89 votes. This is while the Labour Party secured 48 votes. And the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate got 11 votes.

For the Senate contest, the APC received 91 votes, while the PDP got 47 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the National Patriotic Party (NPP) both got 5 votes, and there were 5 void votes.

Despite Faleke’s support for the APC, Peter Obi and the Labour Party have made significant impacts at his polling unit. This raised questions about the APC’s dominance in the region.

House of Representative Member Hon. Chinyere Igwe was arrested today along Aba road in Port Harcourt. Reports reaching politianmnent.net is that Mr Igwe was caught with over $500,000.00. One would wonder where he got such an amount of money and why he had it in cash.

Shockingly, when he was interrogated, he spilt out the truth. Hon. Chinyere Igwe claims that the money was given to him by Atiku Abubakar. Interestingly, Atiku Abubakar is the presidential candidate of the PDP in tomorrow’s election.
