Politics / Re: Between Obasanjo And Tinubu; Who Is An Achiever? by hooplarr(m): 11:27pm On Apr 22, 2007 |
Ah, my fellow nairalanders, such naivety on the part of some of you. E fe fi Iku we orun ni? Do you equate sleep with death? Impossible. Where was Tinubu when Obasanjo was holding it down during the civil war? My people, in brevity Obasanjo and Tinubu are both achievers but merely on really different levels. There's a wide gulf between these two, make no mistake about that. And I must add here that I will really appreciate it if some of my colleagues desist from passing insults on the leader of the most populous nation in Africa. It is equally in the bible that we don't denegrate our leaders cause if God didn't want him there, he (Obasanjo) wont get there. Let's think, |
Politics / Re: Truck Bomb At INEC Headquarters by hooplarr(m): 10:56pm On Apr 22, 2007 |
Toshman, Speak on Speaker!!!! What a laugh the western world is having so far. I tell you one thing, these shameful old timer politicians should just take the back bench and sit comfortably with a box of pop corn and leave the helms of governance to the young minds. It baffles me you know. These men, so close to their graves grabbing all they can like they can take it to the grave with them. Oh God, these people sow misfortunes upon hapless, law abiding nigerians but little do they know that they'll reap mountains and mountains of nothing at the end. May posterity judge them all, |
Politics / Re: Who Will Save Nigeria ? by hooplarr(m): 10:37pm On Apr 22, 2007 |
Good question that all Nairalanders ought to give their honest views. I for one can't say WHO cause every potentially capable and honest leader coming forth have been compromised by the avarice and penchant for daylight robbery and ill gotten wealth of their predecessors. It is such a disheartening development that we are steadily breeding rogues and executives robbers instead of compassionate, empathic and credible leaders. The all of my story is let God intervene with his mighty hand and do what He knows how to do best by separating the wheat from the chaff! We've had enough of their hypocrisy, ineptitudes, charlatan leadership and hood winks. Let the old timers go and take a swim under the ocean. Word!! |
Politics / Re: Breaking News;buhari Has Won The 2007 Presidential Elections. by hooplarr(m): 10:12pm On Apr 22, 2007 |
I think the guy who broke this news must have been watching his TV upside down. And when will Buhari himself get the picture that come 50years from now, he can not even smell not to talk of taste power in Aso Rock again. What with his very grim record of human rights abuse and the killing of three innocent Nigerians even in the face of international criticism and plea for clemency? I beg. Let Buhari and the guy who's flowing falsehood for him eat shit and pai!!! 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Musiliu Obanikoro Hospitalised by hooplarr(m): 10:38pm On Apr 20, 2007 |
I'll be very brief, Y'all remember a certain caption on one of the myriad campaign posters of Musiliu Obanikoro? It reads, "Who Am I?", "Passionate About A Restored Lagos", Well, I guess y'all know now who the "man dingo" is, A Goddamned LOSER, that's who he is, And you speculate whether he's hospitalized or not? Think again, There's more reason for him to be under the weather from here on. Is there peace for a traitor? Fill me in. |
Politics / Re: Greedy Atiku. Why Can't He Step Down? by hooplarr(m): 8:21am On Apr 20, 2007 |
First off, I agree with Hotslink about Nigerians not submitting to militocracy. We're through with the iron fisted experiments. It's time for a new lease of freedom. I have nothing against Buhari but his record of human rights abuse causes shivers to spiral through me. I quite agree that Atiku should also be allowed to exercise his franchise, but a individual indicted for gross abuse of office, corrupt enrichment and blatant plundering of public funds for personal aggrandizement should not be allowed a chance in our nascent democracy. Nigeria is still reeling from the double whammy of immense foreign debts and corruption so the last kind of leader we need is one who dips his hands into public funds with impunity. Atiku is a shred of the ruling PDP, with the same manifesto well schooled into his psyche. Yes he only left PDp cause of the fallout between him and BABA!! Who needs a man who bought a house in Maryland, Washington with $10,000,000 and furnished it with $70,000? Who wants a man who has almost crippled the power sector single handedly and making a swivel to say he guarantees power if elected? I doubt if the immunity clause will save him cause I for one don't ever want to see him in power Ribadu, please be on guard, |

Politics / Re: Election Results: Nationwide by hooplarr(m): 11:37pm On Apr 15, 2007 |
It's Official, Fashola returned as the next Governor of Lagos State. And you know the amazing thing, it was free of violence. And to buttress the fact that God endorsed this guy, it rained for the first time in a long while. Can you beat that? Funny you know, Obanikoro emaciated rather drastically and so evident that when he granted a press interview, his cap didn't fit his head properly. |
Politics / Re: Is This True Picture Of Life In Nigeria? by hooplarr(m): 6:36am On Apr 15, 2007 |
Hm, I applaud the defense we all are quick to put up for our dear country Nigeria. I am equally proud of the patriotism expressed even in the face of overwhelming condescension hauled at us. But do we blame the BBC or any satellite stations for these documentaries and revelations? Propaganda or not, it is a good thing that these conditions some lower classes of Nigerians are subjected to is x-rayed. If not, how do we identify with the fast declining regard for human lives that our Government has been so cavalier in policies about in Nigeria? Agreed that these harsh conditions obtains in Europe too but it's rather gross here in Nigeria. We are a rich polity for Pete's sake. Where do we come off being insensitive to the lower cadre of the society while some fat oafs go riding off into the sunset just cause of a headache? It sickens me. A country Nigeria, third largest exporter of Crude with abundance of resources that ought to be put to judicious use for the benefit of the populace is crawling and teetering on the verge of near comatose just because we have Neanderthals in power with the knack for stashing their pockets and neglecting the people who bestowed them with the mandate to lead. Empowerment! How? When virtually all the women are psychologically battered. Our women's emancipation should be a priority which must be followed through with bills passed into law which specifies that Women have as equal rights as Men so that these women can have a voice in the scheme of things. Today the 14th of April, 2007, Nigerians decide who deals with us for the next four years as Counsellors, Local Government Chairman, Governors, Legislators, Senators and supremely the President. We wait with bated breaths whether this elections turns out free and fair or turns into a fiasco where it is everyman for himself. Let's see whether we hail our new leaders or we go right back to the trenches, It's our call. Let's vote wisely and guarantee ourselves a rewarding decision. |

DO our politicians in Nigeria possess the spirit of sportsmanship, or glibly put; Camaradeire? I say hell nah! So I say it's a pipe dream that these two guber aspirants can or will do relinquish their jostle for the number one man in Lagos. Everybody wants to be in front. Who likes the back burner? Politics / Re: Who Will Rule Lagos Come May 2007? by hooplarr(m): 6:27am On Apr 12, 2007 |
The Next best thing to happen to Lagos and Lagosians alike should be Jimi Agbaje or Femi Pedro. But alas, as often reported Agbaje is in the wrong party and the hoodlums will scoff at the thoughts of a very educated intellect like pedro(He doesn't strike one as someone who tolerates Agbero) to be governor for obvious reasons. Which narrows our search down to Fashola who proclaims a Brighter Rewarding Future on the platform of the revamped Alliance For Democracy now better known as Action Congress. It's same of the same but with a slightly different approach to politicking. The angle is that he is a eduacted Lawyer, Former Chief Of Staff to Jegbo Baba hence he knows the ropes. It's a intricate job leading Lagosians and it's for the head much unease. For a Viable polity in Lagos, I beg don't VOTE FOR OBANIKORO. Na die be that o |

Nairaland / General / Re: Tell Us About Your Scariest Experience by hooplarr(m): 2:26am On Apr 07, 2007 |
What I am about to say may sound off the handle but it's true. First off, there a saying in the Yoruba language that "He that witness the strike of lightening into the ground will not be around to testify to it". Well, I happen to be a living witness of this occurrence. It was a regular Saturday morning in Lagos and a light shower had ensued the previous night. I was out to get groceries for the house and just as i turned a corner of the street around where I reside in lagos, this massive orange light struck the earth right in fron of me and instantly animated the wet sands right before me, splashing very hot pebbles that perforated my shirt and stunned my face and arms. I was stunned and stood rooted to the ground. I figure a man taking refuge under a tent saw what happened and said to me, You are one very lucky son of a gun, The ended his remark by adding that God must have a reason for sparing my life cause had I stepped one inch further before the lightening struck, it would have struck me smack in the middle of my head and i would have been toast. It was the scariest, and I understand it doesn't happen twice in a place, Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Politics / Re: What Do Tinubu, Obj And Bush Have In Common? by hooplarr(m): 10:33pm On Apr 06, 2007 |
I think it's their spontaneity that they have in common. The cavalier manner with which they court danger and often tethering on the verge of chaos. But they often seem to wiggle out of a tight spot they seem to consciously box "theyselves" in. While Tinubu's a real bona fide weed blazer, Obasanjo often enjoys a good dose of sex and Bush is a real war monger, it quite puzzling to actually blend these three together as having somethings in common. |

Crime / Re: 10 Unilag Girls Dead? by hooplarr(m): 11:40pm On Apr 05, 2007 |
Well, the question that comes to mind reading about the 10 Unilag girls is that what has the Police Authorities done about apprehending the perpetrators of this crime? We all can't just go about life gung ho and thinking to ourselves that things will change overnight. Drastic actions in curtailing the overzealousness and naivete of our young girls in tertiary institution. The excess of these people who delight in snuffing lifes out of hapless and innocent kids too should be checked. It could happen to any one of us. So, let's do the right thing and have our authorities plus our collective instincts for security peaked. Thank You. |
Health / Polyethylene: The Next Seemingly Innocuous Disaster! by hooplarr(m): 12:11am On Apr 01, 2007 |
I have watched with so much anxiety and concern for our environment with the proliferation of Polyethylene otherwise known as Nylon. It is everywhere. In our daily lives, we cannot argue the use of it. But alas, we lack proper disposal of this material. It is clogging our waterways, Canals, Drainages and even street sewers. I predict it's the next big environmental hazard of monumental proportion we shall soon be dealing with in Nigeria as a whole except drastic measures are put in place to address this looming monstrosity. This bit shouldn't be ignored. Your views are solicited cause this concerns us all. |
Religion / Re: I'm A Christian And I Smoke Herbs by hooplarr(m): 9:58pm On Mar 30, 2007 |
Hey! At least y'all should give this 'Christian' a one up for even working up the nerve to tell the truth. I got to tell y'all one thing, there's a whole load of people out there flaking and perpetrating to be holy and all while in the very confines of they solitude they do heinous things, Weed, I neither advocate nor condemn it. There are people who go into it and seemingly have it good while some come out outright to say that it does more harm than good, mentally, physically and socially. But the salient point to buttress is that does this Christian brother need help! It is quite unnerving to come out with this starkly and I tell you from experience, Let's help him constructively, The weed thing na die ooooooo!!! |

You know, the thought of Paternity is all so scarey. To think you're the baby's dad only to discover some twenty something or more years that it ain't so can grieve one to the grave. I agree with the view of one of the commentators to STICK TO THE DNA TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! |

Yeah, I concur with some of my Nairalanders who says we got pretty women all over the world. But sometimes, I often wonder if it's true that they are all over the world. Ypou ever been to Brazil, France, Austria, the Bahamas You'll have a rethink of the 'all over the world' theory. I particularly consider ukrainian ladies the most attractive with their full bodied appeal and luscious lips. Mighty glad I got a chance to kiss a few of them, |

For continuity and hopefully a more stable polity, I vote Musa Yar' Adua I find him innocuous. As for Atiku, I think the guy needs a breather from all the plundering. I mean, what the Bleep is wrong with this people? All that loot? And still vying for political office? They ought to be ashamed of theyselves, I mean what the hell is going on? They can't even take a dime with them when they are dead and I mean very dead and gone!!! Haba, Make una dey fear God now, |
Politics / Re: Lagos Governorship Debate: Why Was Koro Absent? by hooplarr(m): 8:02pm On Mar 19, 2007 |
Koro, in the Yoruba translation means bitter. So for everyone ass kissing the bitter guy, attending his rallies fortified with murderous looking security agents had better have a rethink cause the guy portends grave danger to us and to Lagosians alike. He glibly burned down City hall, sold lands fraudulently, stepped on toes and gladly bit the hands that fed him and lifted him up to the exalted position he is currently holding. How do you expect him to participate in the debate? He's nothing, empty with empty promises. he only has the backing of the PDP. Need I say more He can only be found where he is wont to be. At the Paraga stand, Watch out, Don't let him in, |
TV/Movies / Re: Do You Love Or Hate Nigerian Movies? by hooplarr(m): 2:49pm On Mar 14, 2007 |
I hate everything about Nigerian Movies. The recycled artists, recycled story line, No moral lessons to learn and poor quality dialogues with no punch line. It sucks. Just seeing the artist (Old Ones ) particularly clamouring for wishywashy movies is all so pathetic. Take a cue from Foreign movies, The Nigerian Filmaker needs a lot to learn. |

The lady was all so unkempt, She'd place her X string anywhere, even on my dad's desk! She's Godawful lazy and wont even work up the nerve to clean her room not to talk of helping me out with my own chores. Not like I want a slave of a lady but somebody with a sense of propriety and a very sharp nose for good hygiene. Got to go! 2 Likes |
