The Sapiosexual Elite Association (SEA) Club is the first intellectual social wills association that started in Nigeria and is registered with the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investments. Sonnia says, “I have always had an innate desire to change the narrative and do good. I come from a very charitable family as well; I remember growing up with people always in front of the house with one issue or the other. The ice cream truck pulls up and the whole street lines up because my dad is buying for us all. We had over 30 cousins and extended family in the house every holiday as my dad was the one they looked up to, the list is endless. My Mum would take all our clothes and have us give to charity always. So, moving back to Nigeria and seeing the things I saw broke my heart.”
Since its inception, the Sapiosexual Club has grown in bounds and has membership strength of over 10,000 young professionals. The mentoring program has birthed a vibrant community of high achieving entrepreneurs, civil society leaders and public servants who are unrepentantly committed to taking bold actions that create a career and national success.
"Now don't get me wrong, I had to struggle too. Even with my First Class, I was working at the airport where I had to push wheelchairs and earn not up to N70,000. Men and women with children earned way less. I was transferred to Cargo at some point and it was crazy as the men I saw had families and they earned lesser salaries and were expected to live right, not steal, come to work Mondays to Saturdays for peanuts. I need not tell you about my NYSC experience. The truth remains that people are suffering.

It was two nights of fun, entertainment and celebration of a music legend as this year’s edition of the Regal Afro Beat Party held at The New Afrika Shrine on August 2-3, 2019, much to the fans’ excitement!

The Afro Beat party, an annual music concert organised in honour of the Afrobeat legend and world music icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, witnessed a lot more excitement this year as Regal Dry Gin treated fans and consumers to nights of musical variety and African-inspired cocktails from mixologists at the Regal bar, making it one of the highlights of this year’s edition as it added spice to the two day event.

The Regal Afro Beat Party 2019 presented an opportunity to celebrate the life and music of Fela, as many of his fans and up-and-coming artists had the opportunity to perform some of his iconic songs to the utmost delight of the guests at venue. The two-day event witnessed thrilling musical performances from a variety of Nigerian artists and also provided a platform for up and coming artists to also showcase their talents.

Q. ANY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND BECAUSE I KNOW MOST ARTISTES DROP OUT OF SCHOOL FRO MUSIC?

ANS. Ahhhhhhh i am currently studying information technology at the university of Lagos 200L but earlier i diploma at FUTMINA (Federal university of technology) which i later dropped out of the school of course to proceed to Lagos state university, for my primary and secondary education, i went to ‘’victory academy school in Kaduna state so that’s all for now but you have to know that i am a part-time fashion designer…

Q. SO OBVIOUSLY YOU SHA DROPPED OUT?

ANS. yes i did.


Q. WHEN DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU COULD ACTUALLY SING TALK MORE OF RECORDING A SONG TO PUT OUT?

ANS. I can remember i started way back singing in church choir where i played musical instruments because back then we had like a mini studio started learning how to put beats together with the church keyboard which after then my mom a desktop computer to help me improve my skills in beat making since i could make beats so later i joined (METRO) my friend in his mini studio to learn how to record properly after which i moved to Abuja for further knowledge of the production business but for the singing part, it started back while i was still in Kaduna in my secondary school days which gave birth to the first ever song i was ever featured on by (PSON) which was a gospel song titled ‘HERE FOR JESUS’ after the i recorded my first song titled ’NAIJA’ featuring my elder brother which gave me the first award in my life back then in secondary school as the best new artiste hehehehehehe so that’s how it all began for me as an artiste.


Q. SO WHAT INSPIRED YOUR FIRST EVER SONG?

ANS. Back then i wanted to do a song that could cut-across every religion and also to pledge allegiance to my country so i would say it was inspired by me a Nigerian against all odds of religious misunderstanding in my country.


Q. LETS FAST-FORWARD TO WHEN YOU RELEASED YOUR FIRST OFFICIAL HIT SONG ‘BEMBE’

ANS. Ahhhhhhhh that’s like last year 2015 when i decided to run a solo career after a long break from music so i decided to go back to the studio because i knew that it was music or nothing during that time i recorded couple of songs so ‘BEMBE’ was chosen by the team because it was an up-tempo song which had an appealing and unique sound that would please the listening ears or my to be fans considering the trend of then so it was put out and surprisingly it got good reception and that was it later we shot the video with “paul gambit” .


Q. YOU MENTIONED THAT YOU WENT SOLO, WERE YOU IN A GROUP BEFORE?

ANS. Yeah i was in a musical duo-group “ZEELEX” with my elder brother as 2010-2013.


Q. ARE YOU SIGNED TO ANY LABEL YET OR YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN

ANS. i am signed to HAR ZOCK MUSIC GROUP ‘HZMG’ based in the federal capital territory, Abuja, Nigeria and so far so good we’re doing well.


Q. I KNOW WE’RE YET TO HEAR MORE SONGS FROM YOU, SO HOW MANY SONGS TILL YOUR ALBUM DROPS?

ANS. I just dropped by second official single ’SHOW LOVE” featuring PHYNO and the visuals so i’d say one more before the year runs out and also an EP before the official album so in general i’d say a lot more from me is coming.


Q. WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON THE GROWTH OF NIGERIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY?

ANS. I believe the industry is in it’s best form and am glad it is happening in may time, shoutout to the likes of Wizkid and Davido steadily dishing out african music to the world and paving way for the young in the industry because with the look of things we get to see foreign acts cutting afro music into their own piece so i guess now is the time for the to pay more attention to the Nigerian music industry.


Q. IN LOVE WITH ANYONE?

ANS. Sure am in love every song i have so far so i guess am in love with my music.


Q. WHO WOULD YOU SAY YOU ARE?

ANS. I would say am a reserved person and my personality is undefined really.

The APC lead Buhari Government and its selective prosecution of top members of the opposition Party can no longer be denied by even the most ardent of supporters.

The unjust and unwarranted arrest of Prince Uche Secondus, the former acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party ,just days after he and his officials picked a man the APC consider a tough and worthy opponent to pilot the affairs of the Party ,a man they know could probably ensure the Opposition Party gets back to the cradle of power come 2019,Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

This action from a man known to hold long grudges and serious vendetta goes a long way to buttress my points, you and I know the history between President Buhari and Col Sambo Dasuki and how long he had to wait to exact his pound of flesh.

Information released about the arrest of Prince Unch Secondus points to some Flimsy excuses over the purchase of some buses for his Party. Recall that Olisa Methu, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP was arrested on the 5th of January 2016. He was detained for weeks without access to his attorney or family, presently his case is before an Abuja Federal High Court and indications are pointing to the fact that EFCC and their prosecution team are drowning.

The EFCC has in its clutches top Chieftains of PDP, Men like Haliru Mohammed Bello, Adamu Muazu and others they consider a threat to their plans of drawing Nigerian back to the stone age.

Shame is nothing of a sane mind dancing naked in the Market place; The Federal Republic of Nigeria has been reduced to nothing but a man dancing nakedly in the public to the evil of mischief, pogrom and injustice. The naked government in the man called APC has yet reiterated his commitment to end opposition by jailing and nailing his critics. Soon Nigerians will know how they have been misled, misinformed and hoodwinked into submitting that the country need change. Although change at terra incognitio. APC has for the passed few months ditched from it arsenal series of blows against the opposition PDP and has further devised a serial chain of punitive and retributive list against it major opposition in the PDP. However, under the nomenclature of anti-graft war the APC handpicked Alhaji Bello Haliru, a serving Chairman of the PDP Board of trustee-BOT, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, an PDP chieftain, followed by Chief Olisa Metuh the PDP national publicity Secretary. Of all the falsehood and allegations cooked by the APC, Prince Uche Secondus were not culpable except a petty indictment over campaign vehicles. Hence his arrest and detainment. Secondus is the immediate Ex PDP Chairman. Those persecuted are just too numerous to mention as Comrade Abbah Moro FMR Minister of Interior also makes the list. Nigerians do not need to be hoodwinked again as the saying goes once beaten twice shy. The question begging for answer is, are Nigerians still buying from this APC’s Market of delusion and hallucinations. It won’t be a thing of surprise later when Nigerians start hearing through the print and non print media an allegation of corruption against the current PDP Chairman Alhaji Amodu Sherif. This lopsided anti-corruption war is a decoy to placate Nigerians on APC’s resolve to quell and terminate PDP in it quest to retain power beyond imaginable after it understood. That Nigerians are getting to know the truth in the lies sold to them by the APC. Those who feels that APC is persecuting PDP have every justifiable cause to their claim. In this video the present minister of women affairs and the APC governorship candidate of Taraba State affirms that she controls the decisions of the judiciary in the Taraba gubernatorial election case. in a conversation with her associates she boasted that she has the money and power to manipulate the judicial system. this is an insult to the Nigeria judicial System and should not be condoled..

Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan is a fulani. A lawyer by training, Aisha Jummai became the first female to be appointed Taraba State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice. . The first woman to be appointed as Secretary FCT judicial council and later appointed the Chief Registrar of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, it's obvious that she has come a long way with the judicial system to the point she feels she can control and manipulate the system after Court of Appeal In Abuja cancelled the purported victory handed Aisha Alhassan, by an election tribunal, as the governor of Taraba State. Mrs. Alhassan, the candidate of the All Peoples Congress, was declared winner on November 7. In doing so, the Taraba State Governorship Election Tribunal nullified the election of Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party.

But in its ruling Thursday, the Court of Appeal which reviewed Mr. Ishaku’s appeal, described as “unattainable” a petition by the APC seeking to disqualify Mr. Ishaku as the PDP candidate in the gubernatorial election of April 11.

In a unanimous ruling, a five-man panel led by Justice Abdul Aboki said that the Election Tribunal was wrong in giving victory to Mrs. Alhassan, while nullifying the election of Mr. Ishaku.

Not satisfied with the judgment of the court of appeal Mrs Aisha did not leave the case to God like she advice the parents of the Chibok girls during the bring back our girls visit to the state house, she decided to take the case to the supreme court to fight against the court of Appeal ruling nullifying her election victory.
so much for being the first female governor, Nigerians are not against her dream of making history as the first female Governor what we are against is the way she's going about it. even after been made the minister of women affairs, instead of serving Nigerians she's doing all in her power to become the governor of Taraba state and according to this video she will do all it take even if she lost her life in the process. also in the video she bragged about APC being in power and having wealth to manipulate the judiciary, we know she has the backing and support of the president but we will not let our judicial system be controlled or manipulated.
Nigeria judiciary system is the most honourable Nigerian institute and will not be manipulated or insulted. this video and other related cases indicates how corrupt and arrogance Mrs Aisha Jummai Alhassan is and should not be placed in any seat of power.

i am Ayoka princess peace by name, 23 years old of age, am from Abia State and a Graduate of Industrial Physics from imo state University Owerri.

What motivated you to contest for Face of Democracy Nigeria instead of other pageant?
what motivated me to participate in fdn is the Fact that it is not accessed by only Beauty but Intellect. It is a Pageant that has a political undercurrent and motivates youths, most especially women to participate in the political democratic development of this great nation Nigeria.

How Did you feel when you were Pronounced the Winner?
I was overwhelmed with joy, that I practically busted into tears. It was a life changing moment for me and I remain grateful to God almighty and to the Organizers of Face of Democracy Nigeria for making that happen.

What are your Plans for the next one year as FDN Queen?
for the Next one year of my Reign, I intend to be an Advocate for Confronting the Confronting the complex nature of insurgency facing the country in recent times, more so I am willing to be a perfect point of reflection of a lady who can best represent the nation as a Democrat. I also want to give back to society and impact positively on as many lives as I can with this humble Platform.

What Project are you going to Embark on?
I am Zealous to Indulge in as many projects as I can be able to which includes, Empowering women in politics, developing skills acquisition centers for our youths as well as embarking on environmental sanitation programmed amongst others, I also wish to empower youths on some agricultural empowerment schemes because I believe we are the future of tomorrow's better Nigeria. However , I will Partner with the First Lady on her project on V. V. F to help Protect the interest of the Child on early child Birth.

What is your Perception about Beauty Pageant ?
A Beauty Pageant is a Celebration of Beauty. It is also an effective social means to campaign for social awareness of different social issues. It is an awareness to empower young ladies, thereby joining the pageant become more aware and responsible to the problems of the societies they live in and make positive impact What was the Prize giving to you as the Winner? I received a star prize of a Car, amongst other contracts and endorsements.

What's your take on Nigeria's Democracy?
in Nigeria, Democracy is Prevalent, Practiced by the People and with the recent performances by Nigerians towards a Democratic Govt, we are elevating in the historic chart of Democracy practice in the world.

How do Grade FDN compared to other Beauty Pageant ?
face of Democracy Nigeria is a Distinctive Platform which centers on promoting the girl child/ women participation in Politics which is very different from others. Every pageant has Vision, FDN is Quite a unique one and centers on Promoting Nigeria's Democracy and advocacy for youth participation in political affairs of the nation unlike other pageants.

What are your Hobbies?
my hobbies are, Cooking, Reading, and Traveling .

He sounds like none ever heard before. His ease of rendition and delivery, like none but himself.
It is a combination of jazz, country, soul and folk to form a sound that is synonymous to Che, alone.
'I find trouble placing my music into a category as my music is not bound by rules but rather an expression of my feelings as they occur...in their raw form' he says of his music type.
A Nigerian born Germany based musician, Che, (the first son of Senator Uche Chukwumerije, of blessed memory), has returned home to make music that would appeal to Nigerians, a music that is drawn from his deep but daily interaction with life that sometimes go unnoticed, a deliberate connect with the recesses of his soul.
His music conveys a strong message that would initiate a paradigm shift in the way music is perceived in Nigeria and consequently, add to the genres legging Nigeria's music landscape.
He is an artiste with soul and depth. Every song recorded by Che was done with live instrumentation, (analogue) creating an symbiotic connect between the song, the singer and his musical instruments ecosystem.
His complete understanding of music is astute, away from what is obtainable today in the musical scene where artistes are in it for the sake of entertainment and business alone. He is a singer, song writer, poet, essayist and novelist.
Of the different creative shades of Che, music takes prominence as he states that music alone saved him from his demons both within and without.
This explains why his first single is titled 'Music Makes Me High'. He says Music liberated him from the dark patch he endured. Even when the world turned its back on him because the world could not understand him, it was music alone that remained loyal and true.
The death of his father he says was the biggest motivation for recording his music, as it awakened the realization of the transient nature of life and the need to pursue ones passion for an enduring legacy.
He further stated that even though he had written so many songs in the past he had always procrastinated on making an album. He built a career in aviation which began here in Nigeria then to Germany and although he rose to management level he always knew something was missing.
But when in the studio he comes alive with an overwhelming sense of certainty on the call to pursue music wholeheartedly.
He has an album cooking but he has chosen to give the world taste of his first single, “Music Makes Me High”.
The choice of this single for the launch of his music effort, he states, is borne out of his deep concern about the rapid urge of individuals in contemporary times to get high on all sort of substances, but he stresses that a re-orientation using music will redirect/focus on productive ways of getting high on things that are enduring like Music, Love and Justice, with the hope that it would chart a new course in reshaping our society. ​
