People should be very careful b/c when I got there a lot of people that applied visa through them were stranded. I learnt that over 2000 people that applied visa through them absconded. They are very careful now.

It is usually issued by people who have the right to get the visa and they are issued at cost and then you leave the person to search for work by himself.


It is called Kasargod Khaliwali Visa. It is also called Azad Visa.

A UAE / GCC citizen opens a company. Gets permission for several visit visas. Sells them each for 5000K-8000K AED. Then closes the company. The person who arrives on visit is free to seek any form of employment.

If he / she is lucky to get a job in the first one month and transfer the status, he is lucky. else, he becomes just another piece of meat who would be exploited by the vultures at will.

So its your choice if you can handle that kind of headache or not.

Run away from ""KALIWALI"" or "'KALIWOLE"" visa, it is issued mainly by companies who have closed or about to fold up in the UAE in connivance with some wicked agents, you cannot seek employment with that kind of visa,sometimes they alter some informations on the so called ""KK""visa and mail it to you, on arrival it becomes a piece of junk, so avoid any short cut so you wont regret, so many first time travelers in the UAE arrived with that kind of visa and are stranded for years in the UAE,it is better your visa is sponsored by either airlines, hotels, local emirati's, companies/organisations Husband/spousal sponsorship/relative with good incomes, anything outside this list will lead to sorrow, misery and regret.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO AFTER SIGNING AN OFFER.....AWAITING EMPLOYMENT VISA AND WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IF IT IS REJECTED!!!!!!!!!!!


1.After signing an offer,ensure you grab HR's number,PRO's number, their email adresses and atleast a number of a colleague living in UAE.


2.If you are a fresher, Exit the country,Never go to Oman/Kish to wait for visa unless advised by company or you have agreed upon the expenses especially for a fresher...For those already working here you can exit or stay.(but overstay is like 15aed per day).


3.Try and reach the PRO few days after you have signed the contract and Enquire from him/her if the processing has started...if he/she says yes ..ask for your Employment Visa Application Number...it starts with.. MB and has numerical numbers then ends with AE.so its something like this...example (MB123456789AE).


4.Circumstances may crop where you might not be able to get this Application number from HR/PRO and you probably have already exited the country..Now this will be the time to ask your friend(the one living in UAE)to call 800665, provide your passport number and enquire if any visa has been applied on that name.(If the answer is 'NO'..then its clear the PRO did not apply any visa for you, if the answer is 'YES' ask the call center executive in a polite manner to give you the application number..(once you have this application number,you are now good to go...that means something is happening.


5. Employment visa process takes from 1day to probably maximum 45days)if more than this for sure, there is a problem somewhere.(call 800665 enquire,and you will be advised accordingly).

Take note of these hints...I work with them.

Please for those who are working with agents try and get all ur briefing before u get to the airport cus when u step in front of those airline officials they can be merciless. A guy was asked what he was going to dubai to do and he said he was going to school and so they asked him to bring out his admission papers. Meanwhile his agent was behind d lines edging him on and the officials took note of this. When they asked him for the school papers he started fumbling and said that he is a tourist and he is going to visit. The airline official just told him to leave the line and go back home that they would not let him travel because he doesn't have a genuine purpose for wanting to come to dubai. Immediately hos agent just jumped into the line and started causing a scene.

So so unfortunate of d guy...
He should b able to defend his words..
It's all about psychology.

ln my personal opinion, when you arrive, after you have secured a job, you can approach any of the banks within the UAE and open an account with anyone that you like, meanwhile on arrival, you can open an account with Emirates Bank just like was suggested to you few weeks ago by another forumite, you can open an account with your visit/tourist visa with l think a minimum of 5000AED with Emirates Bank.

Secondly, although, you can search/scan different banks and see the one that will be friendly to you in doing business, every bank does have a unique edge over others and l cannot make a generalise statement as per which bank you should deal with. lastly, securing a job within 2months should be your utmost priority/prayers and not the issue of opening a bank account, when you secure a job with all your papers intact, it gives you the peace of mind to open 100accounts if you so wish lol , so concentrate more on securing a job.......after securing a job every other thing will be added to you like silver,gold,buildings, assets, investments, diamond, pretty ladies.lol ...if you believe......

Not from a UBA bank,but, from other Local banks, we have different banks (local banks) spread across the 7 emirates that can facilitate the transaction for you in conjunction with your local bank in Nigeria, l wont be able to make an official statement about this because different banks with different transaction policies, you can also open a current account here with a recommendation letter from your home country's bank. When you arrive, you can scan round for different banks and gather all the relevant informations, the banks will be in a better position to tell you more than what you might get here.

Because I don't intend carrying my BTA everywhere I go,so I wouldn't be tempted to mis use it...u knw nah,with cash with u can easily pay for what u don't want..

l have a friend who withdrew 2000AED with the UBA Africard from the ATM here in the UAE and the withdrawal charges was about #1,600,l don't know if it has either been increased or not and if same charges will be applicable to other banks.

This payment u said is possible into a Nigeria savings account from Dubai,I'm wondering if u have to look for a UBA bank over there
