Religion / Re: When Did God Create Hell? by huxley(m): 3:17pm On Apr 18, 2010 |
Joagbaje: So God had already planned to send humans to hell many many years before he created Adam, correct? So God knew that humans would sin and eventually have to end up in hell, so he created hell many many years in advance of creating man. So why was God surprise when Adam & Eve sinned. God already knew they were going to sin, correct? |
Religion / Re: Are You Afraid Of Hell? Why? by huxley(m): 12:22pm On Apr 17, 2010 |
e36991: If all the organs rot away and there will be no sensual reactivity, then there will be no way anyone could feel or sense pain. So being in hell is going to be painless, isn't it? |
Religion / Why Did God Have To Take A Break After Six Days Of Actively Creating The World? by huxley(m): 10:24pm On Apr 16, 2010 |
On each of the days of creation, did God create what he created in an instant, or did it actually spend prolonged periods of time painstaking, slowly and methodically creating his creations? What might have happened had he not rested on the 7th day? Could he have died of exhaustion? |
Religion / When Did God Create Hell? by huxley(m): 7:45pm On Apr 16, 2010 |
In which of the seven days of creation did God create hell? Did God design and create the world with HELL in mind or did he create it as an after-thought? |
Religion / God Creating The Universe by huxley(m): 8:46am On Apr 16, 2010 |
How long did God exist before he decided to create the universe? Some notions of God hold that God does not change. If this is true, then deciding to create the universe constitutes a change, because God's state of mind prior to and after he created the universe must have undergone some change. Can there be change without the notion of time? |
Religion / Re: What Is Hell Like For Dead Foetuses, Stillborns And Little Children Who Die Youn by huxley(m): 3:38pm On Apr 14, 2010 |
tempest01: So a foetus or stillborn with original sin who cannot repent and thus benefit from the blood of Jesus MUST have to go to hell, mustn't they? What stops from going to hell given that they have original sin? |
Religion / Is Everyone Born With Original Sin? by huxley(m): 3:14pm On Apr 14, 2010 |
Is everyone born with original sin? When does orginal sin get into the human entity? Do foetuses, fertelised eggs and stillborns have orginal sin? |
Religion / Re: What Is Hell Like For Dead Foetuses, Stillborns And Little Children Who Die Youn by huxley(m): 2:55pm On Apr 14, 2010 |
tempest01: So a surefire way of ensuring that someone goes to heaven is to make them die very young indeed. What is the point of growing up if by growing up you reduce your chances of finishing up in heaven? Further, I thought everyone is born with original sin. Is that not the case? |
Religion / Re: What Is Hell Like For Dead Foetuses, Stillborns And Little Children Who Die Youn by huxley(m): 2:38pm On Apr 14, 2010 |
tempest01: How old were these children? Were they stillborns or foetuses? |
Religion / Re: What Is Hell Like For Dead Foetuses, Stillborns And Little Children Who Die Youn by huxley(m): 2:32pm On Apr 14, 2010 |
joe4christ: How is the age of accountability set? Is this an objective value? Is there material growth in hell and in heaven? So if a foetus gets to go to heaven does it remain a foetus for eternity? Many billions of foetuses and fertilised eggs are lost each year. Do all of these go to heaven and do they remain as foetuses/eggs for eternity? |
Religion / Re: What Is Hell Like For Dead Foetuses, Stillborns And Little Children Who Die Youn by huxley(m): 2:18pm On Apr 14, 2010 |
joe4christ: OK, so what is this loving God doing to do about dead foetuses, stillborns and dead 2 year old kids? Is he gonna send them to the fires of hell or has he prepared a special small kiddies hell for them? |
Religion / What Is Hell Like For Dead Foetuses, Stillborns And Little Children Who Die Youn by huxley(m): 12:40pm On Apr 14, 2010 |
Do children, dead foetuses, stillborns and dead little children share the same HELL as Hitler, Sadam, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mother Teresa, Satan? Or do these little ones have their own purposed-made punishment chamber with tiny little flames? |
Religion / Who Is Closest To God? by huxley(m): 10:25am On Apr 13, 2010 |
Is your Pastor closer to God than you? Does he/she know more about God than you? Does he/she know the mind of God better than you? Does God have a special ear for pastors? |
Religion / Are You Afraid Of Hell? Why? by huxley(m): 8:42am On Apr 13, 2010 |
So what is it about hell that you are afraid of? Or what is it about hell that one should be afraid of? Will it be possible to have s-e-x in hell? |
Religion / What About The Elephant And The Giraffe? by huxley(m): 10:48am On Apr 11, 2010 |
Yes - how about the elephant and the giraffe? Why are they still with us, but all dinosaurs have become extinct? What is it that killed out the dinosaurs but spared the elephants and giraffes? |
Religion / Does God Love Everyone? by huxley(m): 8:44am On Apr 07, 2010 |
Does God love everyone? Does this love extend even to his enemies? At what point does God stop loving someone? For instance, while Hitler was in the midst of his muderous acts, was he still loved by God? Does God stop loving humans when they have reached gates of hell and are roasting in its flames? |
Religion / Have You Ever Received A Call From God? by huxley(m): 11:04pm On Mar 26, 2010 |
Have you ever received a direct call from God, intructing you to do something? Did you do it? |
Religion / Re: What Are The Earthly Advantages Or Benefits Of Being A Christian? by huxley(m): 2:52pm On Mar 22, 2010 |
jumie: What do you mean by peace of mind? Christians worries about life and its travails in much the same way as everyone else. They worry about: Money, health, career, exams, death, their children and parents and friends etc, etc. If they did not, why do they keep praying for all these things? And does God really provide it for them? Does God always provide: their food, money, exam results, healing from illness? Have you ever visted a sick children's hospital and see all the distress in the parents faces about the health of their children. Are you saying that those of these parents who are Christians always have the peace of mind that their God will intervene and save the day? If that were so, no Christian children would be dying from illness. |
Religion / Re: What Are The Earthly Advantages Or Benefits Of Being A Christian? by huxley(m): 9:38am On Mar 19, 2010 |

Religion / What Are The Earthly Advantages Or Benefits Of Being A Christian? by huxley(m): 9:21am On Mar 19, 2010 |
Are there any earthly advantages or benefits of being a Christian? Do Christians benefit from advantages here on earth that are only reserved for Christians and no other groups? |
Religion / Disbelief In The Pulpit by huxley(m): 9:37pm On Mar 18, 2010 |
What should pastors do if they no longer hold the defining beliefs of their denomination? Do clergy have a moral obligation not to challenge the sincere faith of their parishioners? If this requires them to dissemble from the pulpit, doesn't this create systematic hypocrisy at the center of religion? What would you want your pastor to do with his or her personal doubts or loss of faith? Read "Preachers who are not Believers," a study by Daniel C. Dennett and Linda LaScola of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University. |

Deep Sight: This is not a concession in the way you mean. I don't think I have ever held or expressed the view that they were otherwise. Yes, the mind is an emergent "property" or phenomenon of the brain. |
Religion / Re: Atheists: Sell Your Soul Here For Handsome Profits by huxley(m): 5:50pm On Mar 13, 2010 |
Deep Sight: Yes, of course. If you find it hard to tell the difference, just ask yourself the following questions: a) What is a mind? b) Have you ever seen a mind existing outside of a brain/body? c) IS it possible for a brain to exist without a mind? (Think of the millions of brains that exist in vats in research labs all over the world. Do they still have minds?) Deep Sight: These are non-physical concepts that can only exist in minds. |
Religion / Re: Atheists: Sell Your Soul Here For Handsome Profits by huxley(m): 2:03pm On Mar 13, 2010 |
Have you heard of the expression "Caveat emptor" (which means "Buyer Beware"? If after having warned the buyer that he would be wasting his money, and he is still prepare to conclude the deal, I will have no option but to take his money. As far as I am concerned, I would consider that as a gift, as I have given him nothing in exchange. But he is within his right to consider it whichever way he please (gift or financial transaction). My family would certainly do with a few bobs after I am gone and being eaten by worms. |
Religion / When One Becomes A Believer In God by huxley(m): 1:37pm On Mar 13, 2010 |
When one becomes a believer in god, it is god that has helped him/her to become a believer, or has this person chosen freely, under no interference from god, to become a believer in god? |
Religion / Re: Following The Word Of God by huxley(m): 10:45pm On Mar 12, 2010 |
toba: Where are you getting this Grace Dispensation doctrine from? Are you making it up? Jesus himself said that he had not come to abolish the law, as in the following; Matthew 5: 17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. What commandments do you think Jesus was refering to about? Why is Jesus asking people to be more righteous than the Pharisees who were experts of the law and strict observers of the law? What law was Jesus talking about? |

InesQor: You could not be more wrong - I make no such assumption, because I do not claim to know how god communicates with humans. I simply said if such a communication is possible (which from my understanding of the bible it should be given that he communicated with Moses on more than one occasion) and god asked you to kill someone, would you do it? Now, are you in communication with your god? if you are, could you tell us how you enter into communication him him/her? |
Religion / Re: Following The Word Of God by huxley(m): 9:28pm On Mar 11, 2010 |
InesQor: Unless I am mistaken, you main thrust of your questions are: 1) Which god, 2) How he spoke to humans 3) How we are sure that it is god. I have answered this by saying that we are talking about the god of the bible, and for 2 & 3, I refer you to the manner and means he used to communicate with Moses. |
Religion / Re: Following The Word Of God by huxley(m): 9:20pm On Mar 11, 2010 |
InesQor: Hello, I meant whichever god(s) anyone believes in and worships. So in the case of a Christian, that would be the god of the bible. The same god that asked Moses to kill many thousands of people on his behalf. If this god asked you, in the same manner that he asked Moses, to kill your brother or friend, would you do it? |
