Politics / Re: Legal Practitionals Only! Constitutionally, Should Buhari Be Disqaulified? by hwena: 9:03pm On Mar 20, 2015
kastonkastrol:
First what the _fuck do you mean by legal practitioners only? Must one go to law school before he understands how the constitution of the land works?

Section 131 of the constitution says:

A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if -
(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth;
(b) he has attained the age of forty years;
(c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and
(d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.

He not only has the minimum requirement of a Secondary School leaving certificate. He equally has a Masters Degree. From 1979 -1980, at the rank of colonel, Buhari (class of 1980) attended the US Army War College (established in 1901) in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States of America and gained a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies… Upon completion of the on-campus full-time resident program lasting ten months and the two-year-long, distance learning program, the United States Army War College (USAWC) college awards its graduate officers a master's degree in Strategic Studies.

Buhari is constitutionally qualified to contest as the president of Nigeria.

Dogon turanci!
The validity of the form when hin submit na the issue. And na dat one go disqualify am.

It seems to be making the rounds, according to the people who attended the Owerri rally, that Buhari embarrassed himself when he forgot his own VP's name! And this video seems to say the same thing shocked

Are you theoctopus? Why am I not surprised? If you agree that there was no place in the article where Gates praised Jonathan, why then are you not taking issues with a fraudulently titled thread?

The excerpt on polio was about the work Gates and his partners are doing on eradicating Polio. Don't try to give credit where it isn't due. If Jonathan and his predecessors did their jobs, Gates would not have had to step in to do the work that a government should be doing.

And lastly, at what point did I tell you I was Nigerian? Or does posting on Nairaland make me Nigerian? Perhaps posting on huffington post makes me American.

Katsumoto:
This is first thread that I am opening on this forum and it is because I feel compelled to write something about the deplorable and sometimes regrettable state of affairs in this section.

I believe that this forum should be used to foster unity amongst all Nigerians; instead it is used by tribalists to bash other tribes. There is nothing wrong in any individual taking pride in their tribe but there is a lot wrong with opening a thread or making a post attacking other tribes. While it may seem that just a few posters are guilty of this acts, it serves to infuriate individuals of tribes being attacked, and leads to a circle of never-ending and self-defeating arguments.

I do not mean to question how you run your organisation but I, personally do not see the relevance of a tribalism section. A racism section is fine because of the number of posters living all around the world and may be useful for sharing ideas and experiences. If I have missed the purpose of the tribalism section, please feel free to enlighten me. The politics should be about politics. It should not be a section for attacking tribes nor should it be about the insignificant actions of individuals that have no relevance to society at large. For instance Mekusxxx started a thread today about a man who threatened to commit suicide if he was not granted a divorce. What has that got to do with Politics? The politics section should be about politics at the local government, state, and national level. We should be discussing issues such as our leaders continued absence, politics in Anambra, the situation in the Niger Delta, etc without any ethnic bias.

Persistent offenders should be repeatedly banned, no matter how many times that they change aliases. We may have differences of opinion and ideas but reasonable adults should not resort to insults. Threads that are designed to attack other tribes should be deleted immediately it is reported by a forum user or sighted by the moderator. May I also suggest at least three moderators for this section.

For the rest of the enlightened users, let us flag any incendiary threads as soon as we sight them, even if they are started by someone of our tribe. I am sometimes ashamed when I see threads started by someone of my tribe bashing another tribe. We should also debate without resorting to insults. I have debated many times against OnlyTruth and Afam but the debates have never resulted in insults being hurled.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to make any suggestions that may improve the quality of this section. We should be aware that there are many non-Nigerians in this section and until we start to vet who reads these sections, we should act with decorum, afterall, most of us were raised to act properly and with respect in public. I am also very much against any discussions that may lead to hatred of others not belonging to our tribes. We may have cultural differences as Nigerians but I think it should serve as a source of uniqueness and strength. We are blessed and we should celebrate our uniqueness and differences.

But none is protesting the killing of innocent southerns in the north.
What a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, you funny, walahi! You no sabi say the people wey dey behind the protests (i.e. wey dey fund am) dey also benefit from the boko haram nonsence. How dem go wan make people protest the killing now, dat one make sense to you? All the people dying whether southerners or northerners or even UN officials na collateral damage. Power games dey more sinister and deep than you think, especially wen the kain money wey dey involved na the stake!

@kingoflag

Some people dont have eyes to add 2+2 together o. Or just refuse to add 2+2 together. If Hausa/Fulani wanted to kill all Christians there would have been 1000's of deaths pretty easily. Maidugri where they are from is not even a 'core' Hausa/Fulani state. However people seeking 'revenge' should be very careful for war aint pretty.

I blame fully PDP + GEJ for this insecurity furthermore from the way 'Boko Haram' is just branded at anything, no evidence just 'They said this and that' I know fully they are ridden politically. Why was there no Boko Haram under Yaradua and Obasanjo think shine your eyes very well. Why now? Where are the arms coming from? Boko Haram are sophisticated enough to Bomb UN? Who is funding them? Why is GEJ slow to react? Why has he not been tough?  cool

The answer to your question be say Jona belongs to a region wen no suppose rule Naija. Simple

No it's not. Na the thing wen them wan make you think. The real plan na to cause so much confusion so tey people go begin demand make dem impeach Jona. Simple. If that wan no work, then na coup by junior officers. You watch and see!

I doubt if Nigeria has been more insecure in recent years. Those who blame the Igbo in the North should know that starting life from the scratch is not easy. . . This present administration has to be the worst! Obasanjo and Yar'Adua did not hesitate to send soldiers to the Niger-Delta to raze down villages, I wonder what GEJ is waiting for. . .

You no sabi something. This no be about the Ibos per se. This is about kicking Jona out of Abuja, wey hin no suppose dey in the first place. Dem want make teh man appear weak and 'dull'. Dem done manage tie hin hands seriuosly as him na small boy for politics. If hin try any serious action we no go here the end of am. Dem go say him and the Ibo man wey dey lead the army done start 'genocide'. Dem go remind evri bodi about him middle name Ebele and say Ibo man done come again. The end result go be mass targetting of Ibos all over the country. Na de way the cookie crumble be dat No matter wetin the man do people go complain. He's dammed if he takes action. He's dammed if he doesn't. That's what happens when person wey suppose be servant for Naija, occupy post wen then reserve for the 'owners' of the country. The coming of Jona na accident wen nobody been foresee say possible!Naija nevea see anything yet. After this fake 'revolution, una go see the next dice wey the 'owners' go role

Soon people go dey talk say all this wahala wen dey happen for our country no be to destabiise Jona govt. make dem take time O! Some of una wey tink say una go school no know something, walahi. The plan na to create chaos for country, as power don dey slip commot from the 'owner' hand slowly but surely. Them wan revert to status quo by any means possible, by coup sef, if possible. Dem been try 'terrorism', but dat wan no dey work. Now na to try 'ethnic cleansing' and 'revolution' Dem sabi say Naija get to many ITK people wey go speak grammer confuse the common man to think say na 'revolution' dem dey fight! The grammarians (and the not so eloquent ones like the gworo chewing alhaji know demselves). I laugh in Boko haram so tey my yansh wan fall commot. Sorry to my Ibo brothers sha. You people na just collateral damage. After all no be the first time (remember 1966?) Wen dust clear power go go back to wen hin belong.Pity say my Yoruba brothers dey always allow demselves to be used despite all their book.
