Music/Radio / Re: D'banj's Oliver Twist At Number 9 On The Official UK Charts by icezik1(m): 8:37am On May 21, 2012 |
LOL! You guys are funny. Many people forget that this is a business. Don Jazzy does not want the fame. He just wants to make the music and sell it. He will still make music for D'banj because they're both professionals and understand the way the game is played. Don Jazzy will produce music for Kanye West, Common, Big Sean etc because that's the nature of his contract with GOOD music. Same way other producers will make music for D'banj like Kanye West himself. Don't get it twisted. Clarence Peters became famous because his initial work was good, therefore more and more artists kept approaching making him bigger and bigger. I expect the same with Don Jazzy. When other musicians abroad ask about who produced Oliver Twist, they will hear it was Don Jazzy and start approaching him. BOTH D'banj and Don Jazzy will reap the benefits of this song. There is no need for all this fighting. 1 Like |

All the Modenine stans, I see you. Long time since I lasted posted on a Modenine thread. It feels good. I'm shocked that there are 67 Modenine songs I've never heard. WTF? That dude is crazy! Modenine is still the best rapper in Africa. End of Story. PS:- I bought every Modenine album ever released to the Nigerian market. I remember I used to wander around Alaba asking about Modenine album, until they all started making sure they kept at least one copy in case I turned up. Lol |
Romance / Re: Blackberry Fever And How It Affects Relationship? by icezik1(m): 9:59am On Sep 24, 2011 |
http://www.comscore.com/Press_Events/Press_Releases/2011/8/comScore_Reports_July_2011_U.S._Mobile_Subscriber_Market_Share The findings from the above website were conducted on a sample of ALL mobile users in America. For all those obsessed with blackberry, I want you to note that Americans are buying Android and iPhones more than Blackberry. In fact, Android will soon make up half of all smart phones. My point? Dump the guy and find someone that is using an Android or iPhone P.S: For those who did not know, RIM makes BlackBerry (To avoid any confusion from not seeing Blackberry in the above pictures). Google makes Android, Apple makes iPhone(iOS) and almost all Nokia smartphones run Symbian. P.S.S: Apparently, no one makes phone calls in America anymore |
Crime / Re: ABSU Gang Violation Suspect Has Been Identified – Minister by icezik1(m): 9:29am On Sep 24, 2011 |
I have not commented on anything on Nairaland for a very long time, perhaps two years. However, I feel I must state here categorically that all those posting pictures of people is based on hearsay. Let me use the example of football that most people should understand. Just over the past few weeks, some newspapers reported that Neymar had signed for Real Madrid only for the player to come out and deny the reports. Throughout the summer transfer window there were claims Modric would end up at Chelsea and yet he is still at Tottenham. What's my point? Just because you "heard"something or "read" something somewhere does not prove it's true, will happen or has happened. I truly hope that if it's proved that the current people being accused by these so-called vigilantes are innocent they will not just be sued but jailed for being absolute and total idiots. I do not condone r.ape but believe it's a very sensitive issue that should be handled with care. Thank You. |
Music/Radio / Re: Chris Brown’s “deuces” Makes History by icezik1(m): 7:58pm On Sep 02, 2010 |
Chris brown sucks! End of Story. Tyga was great on the track anyway. In fact, now that I think of it, that is why you people think the song is great because Tyga is on it. He probably told CB that he wouldn't appear on a fukked up song. BTW, did I mention Chris Brown sucks (How can any man punch Rihanna's beautiful face, no matter the provocation?) |

Music/Radio / Re: Top 10 Greatest Rappers Of All Time by icezik1(m): 11:36pm On Aug 17, 2010 |
In the light of recent events in the music industry, the greatest rapper is Eminem and he's also one of the best musicians currently alive. He's album leaked a month before it was officially released and he still did a milli in 2 weeks. "Not Afraid" debuted at number one and "love the way you lie"with Rihanna is smashing digital sales records everywhere. He's one of the few genre crossing rappers. Nuff said! |

buzugee: Don't get me wrong. I'm not stupid. The topic (or question) is "who is the most recognised Nigerian Musician in the World?" If you ask a random guy in America, China, or Britain where Seal or Sade Adu are from, the instant answer is Britain. Therefore, they cannot be the most recognised "Nigerian" Musician. I completely agree that Sade, Seal, Taio Cruz, chamillionaire etc have Nigerian Heritage and I usually even boast about it to my foreign friends. They are originally from Nigeria. That is the truth. But are they reconised as Nigerian? No. So before you throw insults around, try to understand the concept of "Most recognised Nigerian Musician". On a side note, Wale is recognised as American but he would readily admit to being from Nigeria and regularly talks about Nigeria and how he loves his heritage. Seal and sade do not do this and therefore do not appreciate being from Nigeria. If you ask me, I say **** them. Let's support the real Nigerians. |

Music/Radio / Re: Who Is The Most Recognise Nigeria Muscian In The World. by icezik1(m): 8:00pm On Aug 12, 2010 |
@Yinkaboy and buzugee Is there something wrong with your understanding of english? sade is not a Nigerian neither is Seal, they are British. They would never say they are Nigerian, all they will say is that they had Nigerian parents or were born in Nigeria but they are now British. Look at Gabriel Agbolanhor, Carlton Cole and Nedum Onouha in football if you don't understand what I mean. Those guys would never admit to being Nigerian and would say they are British. Same as Taio Cruz, Chamillionaire, Lemar, Lighthouse family, Jadakiss etc. A nigerian is someone that admits they are from Nigeria. Don't go trying to steal the glory of Sade and Seal be proud of Fela, Femi Kuti, Nnkea, 2face, 9ice, Wale, Dbanj', P-square etc |
Music/Radio / Re: Who Is The Most Recognise Nigeria Muscian In The World. by icezik1(m): 7:54pm On Aug 12, 2010 |
Again for those that missed it the most recognised Nigerian artites that would say they are from Nigeria are the people below : Femi Kuti (Nominated for a Grammy) Nneka (The remix of her hit song "heartbreak" features Nas) Wale 2face Idibia Asa Lagbaja P-Square D'Banj (Mo'Hits esp. Wande Coal) M.I 9ice |
Music/Radio / Re: Who Is The Most Recognise Nigeria Muscian In The World. by icezik1(m): 7:48pm On Aug 12, 2010 |
Sade is british not Nigerian. People get it right. Sade would never say she is Nigerian, she would say she's British. All she will admit to is being born in Nigeria! however, that's it. |
Music/Radio / Re: Who Is The Most Recognise Nigeria Muscian In The World. by icezik1(m): 7:45pm On Aug 12, 2010 |
@Yinkaboy What matters is if you ask the artiste "Where are you from?" and the reply is "Nigeria" everyone on my most recognised list above would have said "Nigeria" except Wale but he acknowledges Nigeria and is trying to rep by sticking to his native name and making songs like "mY sweetie" and remixing "Kini big deal". Seal would say he's British as well as Sade and Kravitz would say he was American along with Chamillionaire. Taio Cruz is half Brazilian half Nigerian but still says he's British as well as Dizzee etc |
Music/Radio / Re: Who Is The Most Recognise Nigeria Muscian In The World. by icezik1(m): 7:38pm On Aug 12, 2010 |
As far as a "foreigners" list goes: Sade Lenny Kravitz Seal Lighthouse family Nas Taio Cruz Lemar Dizzee Chamillionaire and the hundreds of other musicians we don't even realise are Nigerian, after all, Banky w, Saucekid, Eldee, Ikechuckwu, Iceberg Slim etc ran back from America , |
Music/Radio / Re: Who Is The Most Recognise Nigeria Muscian In The World. by icezik1(m): 7:31pm On Aug 12, 2010 |
As it stands right now the most recognised Nigerian artiste as a Nigerian (not all those "foreigners" like Kravitz, Sade, Seal etc) is Fela. Anyone else is just deceiving themselves. Fela has a broadway play made after his life sponsored by Jay-z And Will & Jada Pinkett-Smith. Google it. Honorable mentions must be extended to other people repping Nigeria in order of popularity (still no "foreigners"are in my list): Femi Kuti (Nominated for a Grammy) Nneka (The remix of her hit song "heartbreak" features Nas) Wale 2face Idibia Asa P-Square D'Banj (Mo'Hits esp. Wande Coal) M.I 9ice |
