ideepaul:if you did Saira, and have it in large quantities, then Akwa Ibom may be your target. but if it's not, you will still sell, but it may be a lil bit more challenging |

bassey25:Nope, but I could check around, the price was going down last I checked though, the only saving grace for cuke farmers in Akwa Ibom this year is the lack/high price of seeds, as the market here is very selective |

I cultivate only veges, so I read every info available and experiment with them, to get a workable template based on my unique working environment, as what works for A may not work for B...the journey has been challenging and inspiring so far 3 Likes |

Farmerakinloye6:it all depends on the zone of the country, I am in the south south, and I have not had cause to irrigate except at the period of transplanting, drips are excellent, but sometimes life happens! My drips are lying waste due to circumstances beyond my control. As for Supergrow, it's a waste of funds for me personally, good old manure heaps serve the purpose of increasing organic matter and water retention, and also supplying micronutrients 2 Likes

harken0504:I don't use Z-force, but I think it's either 50g or 100g per knapsack! not too sure, but since it's 15 days in the nursery, 50g per knapsack should do |

willybaby: In as much as I am not really into commercial cassava cultivation, I walk/work with few individuals who do. Not all improved cultivars can be cultivated anywhere, due to climate, soil texture, rainfall, nutrient availablity, market acceptance (starchiness, colour, cyanide level, etc), shade tree, etc, before you plant it commercially, try out like 20-50 mounds, see how they react to your environment, and if favourable, you could expand from there. To make this clearer, let someone cultivars that are best suited to oil palm plantation and cultivate them in another open community, the results may be totally laughable. Another person will take some zone adapted stems and plant them by the riverbanks in the south, and weep for the poor growth, but when you uproot them, you will be pleasantly surprised |

ritzyluv:I hope you didn't apply the calmag via only foliar application? Fertigation is your sure bet right now, calcium nitrate is also a good option, but for quick improvement, fertigation is the best option (either manual or via your irrigation system) Don't always assume you have calcium in your soil, there's a reason why most tomato farmers don't joke with either liming or application of calcium based fertilizers. It improves the fruit skin thickness, and hence duration b4 rot |

Olaleyeabdullah:Ok, but you said spray! Btw, are you fertigating with Haifa bonus? if yes, what's the NPK ratio? |
![]() |
ritzyluv:What's up with the puddle of water by the drip line? Isnt water too much on your soil? For the wilting challenge, I suspect fertilizer issues l, transplanting shock, or like seen in that image over irrigation! |

Only an abnormal person will overspeed on a congested or semi congested road, so all these questions of what to do when there is a vehicle(s) or traffic closely ahead of you doesn't make sense to me. In an event where the urge to accelerate is great, calculate the possibilities and look at the vehicular flow, and only only drive at high speed on a road you are well conversant with and ONLY when there is an emergency that warrants such risk! I never buy my own car sha 4 Likes |

ashpanez:2 weeks after transplanting or at nursery stage for peppers? For cucumber, 2 weeks after transplanting isn't the criteria! The severity of the attack, the health of the plant, the type of agrochemical, weather conditions usually influences the dosage |
![]() |
Farmerakinloye6:Not enough sir! Maybe 5-6 is applications of 5g per application (2.5g urea and 2.5gNPK) for first and maybe 2nd depending on the cultivar) and (2.5g of NPK and 2.5g MOP) for the remaining applications, you could fertigate to ease stress. It works for peppers, tomatoes, and cucumber according to EWS recommendations...i won't lie, it's hard to follow this method sha 3 Likes 1 Share |
