Politics / Re: Gay Nigerian Asylum Seeker Faces Deportation by ikechukwu9: 12:33pm On Sep 19, 2010
I think after reading all the comments above, I can only summarise to this: Nigerians find it hard to believe this sicko gay wannabe or gay whatever simply because, 99% of us Nigerians are liars, so we can't even imagine that this brother although gay and sick "to me all gays are sick" is telling the truth.

I don't want anyone to be granted leave to remain simply because they are gay, gooooosh, why would they do that, I went through a lot before acquiring my residence, they shouldn't just get it by being what the naturally are "GAY" - DEPORT HIM PLEASE!!!!

Who the he.ck is Gaddafi to dictate the Nigerian Polity?

For the records, we are still Africa's 2nd Richest Nation and Strongest Military State.

the idiotic posts on Nairaland about secession is made, check it, by folks mainly in the DIASPORA

I'm really sorry to be the one to bring you out of your self delusion, Nigeria is not among the top ten richest African countries, while Libya is the 4th richest country in Africa. Just copy and paste this link into your browser, since you're too lazy to do your research.
My source: [size=8pt][size=8pt][size=8pt][size=8pt][size=8pt][size=8pt][size=8pt][size=8pt]http://www.aneki.com/countries.php?t=Richest_Countries_in_Africa&table=fb129&places=*&unit=*&order=desc&dependency=independent&number=5&cntdn=y&r=-88-89-90-91-92-93-95-96-97-98-99-100-101-102-103-95-97-98-93-111-112-96&c=africa&measures=Country--GDP%20per%20capita&units=*--$&decimals=*--*&file=africa_richest

It would be a waste of space replying to your comments, as you've shown yourself incapable of holding an intelligent discussion.

In response to the above comments, I think the first guy actually meant that Nigeria has the 2nd largest economy in Africa. People mix Large economy and higher GDP a lot, it was a mistake from the guy, the sarcasm wasn't necessary in retaliation for a genuine mistake.

Even though Nigeria is not the 2nd largest economy in Africa, lots of Nigerians keep saying that they are second. They have not been in decades, are not like to be in a decade - PERIOD!!!

This David Mark guy, which of the two names is the surname? Oh, his father's last name is Mark, Grandfather's is Mark and so on and so forth, don't anyone else see this or is it just me?

Imagine reading a front page story in the New York Times or UK Sun, "DAVID MARK CALLS GHADDIFI A MAD MAN", seriously, how many of you would think that the David Mark would be a Nigerian without reading down the full story!!!

To me, he is more of a mad man than Gaddafi, what kind of Nigerian dissolves their names (heritage) and adopt a foreign name both first and last; does being Mr. Mark make him more qualified? As it's becoming the norm in Nigeria, some say it's flashy and makes him a better Christian or as my friends down there usually put it, "We are a British colony so we bear British names" lolololololol!!!!

That sure is funny, however ignorant!!!!!!

To the point, Gaddifi has no right given his position as a president of an independent country and a friend to Nigeria (based on the AU's quota) to say what he said, that's meddling into another country's internal affairs. Gaddafi has had some good spells at voicing out his controversial opinion in the past, so we shouldn't be surprised; he just says it as it is, I VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED A SPLIT OFF!!!!

India splitted, yet she's got the 3rd largest amount of muslims in the world, please note: im against splitting, im just commenting on the further up above comment
Crime / Re: Nigerian Prisoners In Uk To Be Sent Back To Nigerian Prisons! by ikechukwu9: 12:45am On Mar 20, 2010
"Home is home" I read in between the lines somewhere, well, that is just so naive and annoying!!! A nation that can’t distinguish if you are a Nigerian or not based on its systematical Data, that can't confirm your date of birth, address, place of birth, that has no record of anything about you etc etc, that is suppose to be my home, yeah yeah yeah!!!

Without simple electricity and drinking water, how could they have the above, yeah I know I am expecting too much, but I'd rather die in a UK jail than stay in that shithole country!!!

No country that cares about its integrity, people and most of all, poor and lack the facilities will agree for its citizens who are criminals, residence of another country, who though its citizens, but pay taxes, contribute to another society be dumped at its doorstep when something goes wrong - just irresponsibility as always is the case with those barbarian rulers of ours.

Nigeria is a poor nation incapable of looking after its own people and prisons, thus accepting further criminals who are in general a menace to any society, community or nation is a conclusive portrayal of ignorance and inability to govern and protect Nigeria's interest. Eventually, Nigerians who have worked hard in the UK and paid income taxes, contributed towards pension, invested decades of their lives towards the British system and economy, which has been their home, will completely deprive them of their National Insurance Contributions, PAYE (for self employed), and numerous other UK Benefit system which they contributed.

Furthermore, the UK isn't doing this to save ££, they aren't doing this to decrease the increase on inmates as they put it, it's a direct response to create an atmosphere which underline easy removal of Nigerians from Britain. Why do I say this? Simply because the agreement is vague in its wordings!!! Prisoner = anyone in prison serving a sentence. Sentences vary from non-payment of Council Tax to non-payment of TV License, from being illegal in the country (don't forget, illegal immigration is a criminal offence now) to Speeding, from Drink Driving to Driving without insurance etc etc. All these will make it easier to expatriate such individuals back to Nigeria in the slogan of serving their sentences there. The basis of every agreement has almost, always been to please the initiator, Nigeria being an ill-prepared partner in this case will not understand the decree to which she's putting her citizens in vulnerability given the fact that the country itself practices a system that entices youths to leave for the west.

To conclude, it is the responsibility of every nation to protect its residents be they citizens or not, prison is a rehabilitation centre and not an exclusion procedure. Removal of certain group of people from your society because they simply bear a different Passport is segregation, thereby falling short of the UK practiced Equal Opportunity Act which she enacted herself.

I just feel so sick of Nigeria and its animalistic self-centred misinformed narrow-headed preposterous leaders - they will lead us to total destruction!!!
