Agriculture / Re: My 1hectare (15plots) Project by informed(m): 2:37am On Aug 05, 2018 |
Kudos bro, nice job you are doing here! However, I think your costs of labour on this farm will be so high that your project might not be sustainable in the long run. Now, before you tag me a hater let me quickly tell you this. I know this terrain where you have your farms very well as I own several projects running into hundreds of acres within this area - ADO/ ODO OTA Local Government Area of Ogun State. I own a project in Igbesa and another in 100 acres close to the ALAPOTI area of the same terrain. We used them for farms but had to run away because it was a wrong location for a farm operation especially the IGBESA area which is not far from ITEKUN where you have your farm. These areas especially IGBESA are no longer agrarian communities as the villages have embraced the Lagos Lifestyle and are so lazy to do any agricultural job. They will rather work in factories for peanuts or cross over to Lagos to hustle and not forgetting that the proliferation of real estate development companies in this areas makes it a norm for the average farmer to sell his family lands for the millions he will never make from farming to these companies and feel alright. The story is the same all over places like Okoafo, ILOGBO and environs. You'll hardly get cheap labour or competent labour to work on your farms from these communities as they given up farming to embrace other hustles and the white collar jobs. If you really want to make it in farming and be sustainable, you'll have to kill the notion of being as close as possible to Lagos and go further inwards Ogun State where you'll find Government designated agrarian areas and cheap labour and expertise you need to run your farm. It doesn't pay to have your farms in isolation and away from Farming hubs like Owode, Isiun, Odeda, Illaro, Yewa North and several other renown towns in Ogun State where big farming projects are still on because your farm will be better off for it. We lost over N2.5M in farming to learn the lessons I am sharing with you here trying to set up a 25 Acre Cassava project in IGBESA. Did you plough your land with any tractor? What are your plans for irrigation if the rain water fails to be consistent? Some of these difficulties you experience with clearing wont be an issue within those farming hubs. Even ADO ODO village is a great place to start though I doubt you can get lands easily there today. Based on our experience, I fear your cost of operations and ease of getting access to competent hands to work with you on your project can derail your entire efforts if you don't watch it closely or set up in the right location 7 Likes 1 Share |
Agriculture / Re: How We Make 6 Figures Every 3 Weeks From Farming Ugu by informed(m): 1:59am On Aug 05, 2018 |
While it's true that you can make money in agriculture and with vegetables such as UGU, I will like to say it's not as straightforward as its been offered and said here on this platform. TRUST ME, my parents are URBAN farmers with farms in AGBARA, FESTAC and most swampy areas on the mainland. And my mom till tomorrow is still doing this - our UGU farm for this season is massive. However, its a cycle. There are periods when the supply is always more than the supply and you begin to beg these market women to come and harvest your UGU leaves. You'll be at their mercy and they CRASH the prices such that if you're not STRONG, you can fall sick with their theatrics. If you'll survive as a Farmer, you must master the art of Sales & Marketing and be a businessman or woman to the core. You should be able to look for places you can sell your produce or find ways to add values so these middlemen and market women don't hold you to ransom. Thread carefully as there are no GUARANTEES! 7 Likes 1 Share |

Reference: FIFA is an international organisation that has its own rules and conducts which every member of that union attests to. When there's an issue, the Court for Sports Arbitration - sports courts are there for these guys to go and lay their grievances. All over the world, football and politics don't mix. Football is a world of its own and all member nations of that union have attested and agreed to its statues before joining it. So that is the CRUX of the matter and the case should have been thrown out for lack of jurisdiction. Who the hell is Chris Giwa and what has he done or achieved for Nigerian football to hold us to ransom? His only acclaim is being a member of the National House of Assembly and the proprietor of GIWA FC. If he has so much to offer to Nigerian Football, why not bid his time and wait for the next elections? Why sacrifice the aspirations of a nation on his personal ambitions. Chris knows the popularity and influence of these current guys at the glass house is on the rise hence the need to snatch the leadership the way they do in Nigerian Politics. We're so happy to see the end of this CHARADE |

Politics / Re: TUC Chairman Confirms Payment Of July Salaries Without FAAC Allocations by informed(m): 8:04am On Jul 24, 2018 |
Baroba: Please the reality in Nigeria is different. Go to the state and federal levels, jobs are being created and given out on political grounds without any meaning hence most jobs are just social obligations of the government to engage people. They don't have the capacity to pay as they hardly generate revenues to pay hence the need for federal allocation and oil money sharing. One way to stop the corruption and get lazy politicians out of the system is to stop the reliance of states on federal allocation via oil money and make all states become self sustaining via restructuring, that way, these men will begin to think and create real jobs to sustain their people. |

It beats my imagination that someone would convert straight forward home based businesses like Information Marketing and the Mail Order Business to scams. It's so pathetic that people can't sit down to do real stuffs because its hard work. A lazier way would have been to ask Patrick to give you resell rights to all his products and services if you are to lazy to do it yourself. Many other people have done that! You give people promises you can't fulfill at ridiculous prices in order to get them to patronize you and fail to deliver maybe because you couldn't get those products they paid you for at those prices and rather than give them their money to say you can't meet up, you bolt away because you've spent it and don't have any money to pay. ''SMH'' That's no way to run a business and its the easiest way to destroy yourself. A good name is better than riches. Honesty and integrity pays on the long run. I've seen people build multi million dollar empires without putting a dime from their pocket just because of their names and past relationships. Its good to be legit and stay legit even though it involves a whole lot of hard work and takes a longer time. |

I'm baffled by the type of tirades I often see on Nairaland. So many people just love to hate n be economical with truth , blind followers. For several years, TINUBU has been depending on the legacies of AWo to play his politics. This all goes back to the AD days but TINUBU is no AWO. Their brand of politics is very different. While AWO was more interested in building lasting legacies and honest politics, TINUBU is more intrested in hiding under the camouflage of the opposition and looting the state. That very thing Bola Ahmed TINUBU criticizes the PDP for, he's 100% guilty too. Tinubu is as corrupt as they come, he cant tell us he has not lined his pocket with the spoils of the state and come claiming Awo. Who is the head of the touts in Lagos? Who owns Oriential Hotels and at what point was it developed? What were the legacies TINUBU's eight year administration in Lagos had to show? Why did Lagosians suddenly regard Fashola as a messih? Who owns OANDO? Who owns hypertek engr? So many, It's an Abomination to equate Bola Ahmed TINUBU to an AWo. They are not the same and please Tinubu should create his own brand and stop trying to ursurp the memories of a goodman or insult his family. His three family - wife, daughter n son in law have been entrenched in the Senate, Federal House and Lagos House of Assemblies respectively, Were all this by merit? TIME WILL TELL. |
Business / Re: Sanusi's Goof! Union Bank Was Never Insolvent! by informed(m): 9:51pm On Jun 15, 2011 |
Lamido Sanusi is only pushing a northern agenda that started with Umaru Yar Adua. Remember how Soludo's policies at curbing inflation was countered and how he was directly humilated by the promotion of his vice president at the the CBN then, Shamshuideen to the portfolio of minister of finance. My personal research indicated that at the end of OBJ's tenure and the height of Soludo's capitalisation, the north was never comfortable with the idea that the banking sector of the Nigerian economy was majorly controlled by the South except one bank - UNity bank which was only existing on sentimental grounds. And it was decided that power must change hands which was deliberatly kickstarted by Sanusi. The issue of corporate abuse most of the bank MDs were involved in only empowered Sanusi to carry out that agenda with ease. There are lots of question marks in the present CBN reforms. Why is Sanusi in a haste to sell off the BANKS? |

Politics / Re: Isaac Adaka Boro And Niger Delta Militancy by informed(m): 4:30am On Jul 30, 2009 |
@ Naijaking and @ Dede1 I feel irritated each time I see Biafra fanatics like you blaming the Ijaws for your misery. First and foremost, we are not your Igbo brothers as you guys keep claiming. Our dialects are not the same, our cultures are very different so what unites us? Oil/petro dolllars abi? For your info, its the oil and the access to the seas we had that was key to the Biafran project! Biafra without the Niger Delta is a landlocked country existing within the confines of the Nigerian state so the crook Ojukwu really needed the minorities at the time MORE than they needed him. You asking the Ijaw to support the Biafran state was like asking them to change slave masters. Isaac Adaka Boro is a hero. Ojukwu is a coward. After killing thousands of innocent igbos especially women and children in his mad quest for power, Is it not the same man who wanted to split Nigeria that has been fighting to rule the very country (NIGERIA) he fought to split for years. And you call Boro a criminal, then OJUKWU is worse and desrves to be hanged. The Ijaws were very clever and smarter than you guys folks, because they knew where their priorities lie and what they wanted. You guys keep talking about BIAFRA as if it would have been heaven. What the militants and Niger Deltan activists have been fighting for is VERY MUCH different to OJUKWU's philosophy till date. It might take years but we would get there. I know it is people lyk you guys that have been foolishly lining Nwazuruike's pocket over the BIAFRA dream he hopes to project in recent times. That guy lives in my area and has lots of houses today in Lagos thanks to d BIAFRAN project. I get tired of seeing Igbos roam the street of Lagos shouting BIAFRA, BIAFRA yet they have no single business investments in their regions. What the militants are preaching today is simply resource control. Stop the MILKING of the wealth of the NIGER DELTA region to feed the fat cow called NIGERIA. Let all states generate their incomes with the rsources they have and spend from it. This is simply different from the Politics of leadership that ojukwu decided to play by cooking up Biafra. The Ijaws are not Igbos so please stop grouping us together. They are the 4th largest tribe in Nigeria today and are not looking for masters so ari beebe mene teri (simply means keep quiet in Ijaw). 2 Likes |

Afam: Guys, even N150, 000 - N400, 000 is not a chicken change to the average Nigerian. How many Nigerians can afford N150,000 talk less of N 600,000. The solutions you guys are talking about are for a selected few who have very deep pockets and that's not the solution to our needs as a country. We need to come up with pocket friendly alternatives to the epileptic power situation. If anyone can come up with cheaper solar based products that can take the place of PHCN and still allow people to keep some money in their pockets, then such investors or innovators would smile to their banks. I am presently working on some of such research projects in collaboration with some foreign and local NGO's and you'll be amazed at the kind of products and projects we have been able to come up with. These are very simple and pocket friendly products. We are presently looking forward to passing these skills which are a result of our research to small scale investors interested in effecting change and putting PHCN out of business while they smile to their banks. If you're interested in joining us on this crusade, just send your enquiries to solarbizness@gmail.com |

roshid: What kind of solar panels are we talking about here, rashid and are the materials to be used in building them locally available? How long would they last and what is the cost of setting them up? Can they be mass produced? Have you done any solar panels yourself or you are just trying to sell the information. If you have proofs, I am highly interested because I am presently working on a similar project that would require solar panels, you could be smiling all the way to the bank if you actually do this service for me and several other clients I would be showing you rather than selling the info, I wud like to hear from you! |

@ Finecat, What exactly is your problem? What has Intercontinental Bank done to you to warrant this demarketing strategy? Can you stand by your words if you are taken to the court of law on this? What exactly is your interest? What joy would you deprive in seeing millions of account holders with IB losing their money or its employees being thrown out of work? If IB Plc is not safe but bankrupt as you claim, then what about the horde of microdinance organizations and banks springing up despite the recession. I really dont understand your point. Every business has its ups and down period, every entreprenuer makes mistakes but you dont have to kill them for it cos its part of the learning processes they use in coming back better. which bank in Nigeria didn't borrow money from outside? What you claim the bank is doing is only normal if they need to scale thru the recession and hard financial times we are facing at the moment. If these procedures are needed for them to steer tru the hard times then its ok and not for pessimists like you to take advantage and ruin the efforts people have put in over the years to get to this stage. |
