Islam for Muslims / Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by ISAHO(m): 3:14am On Aug 17, 2006
@firdaus
dear brother, i quite appreciate your concern in making them to understanding but unfortunately they are not ready to understand it the way it is except you will explain the way they want you to.

@malik,
the similitude of your islamic understanding is like a woman wrapped with a cloth round her waist, until you see beyond the woman woman before you appreciate what she has. so my friend why not put culture on one hand, religion on the other hand, perhaps you might understand what we hav trying to make you understand.

just a suggestion you may not deem it fit to consider.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by ISAHO(m): 4:35am On Aug 15, 2006
i actually read the explanations of my muslim brothers on these issues and the way they have explain them with utmost simplicity but you never accepted those explanations, on the contrary you all want to impose your own understanding on a religion you claim not to know much about thereby disregarding explanations from those who actually practice and understood what they practiced.
if you read my postings so far i`ve not quoted the Quran neither am i going to quote the hadiths, why? because am not here on nairaland to defend the Quran but instead the protection is what i held with high esteem just for the simple reason that you will not accept it but rather prefer to bastardised it.
so my dear friend am only using your reported findings to show the lapses on your reports.
concerning the verse you quoted, as i`ve explained to you already, consider my explanation on it and connect it with the list on your ali dashti reports, you will vividly see the answer to your question(s).
of course i will not be surprised to see you post your rape accusation. it happens everyday in our lives when wrong evidences are levied against one another.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by ISAHO(m): 5:58am On Aug 14, 2006
waoh! i read the report on your link, guess what? they are as tasking as making me feel aches on my head. but i will still want you to read that link again to reconfirm ali dashti reports. perhaps, you might still get your answers from them.
@babyosisi,
Q. 1. i still maintain my words they are 4.

Q.2, Q.3, Q.4 and Q5 remain NO.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: Are We Bad? by ISAHO(m): 3:34am On Aug 14, 2006
i wonder why m4malik`s head has not yet been sauced for peppersoup. (laugh)
to your question babyosisi, yes muslim denies that monopolistic idea of killing muslim converts to xtian which you are quite aware that much light had been shed on it for your understanding by various muslim brothers on nairaland.
i read a story of an american lady who was may be by now is still a lover of songs, she was given a tape of one of the poetic recitation of the Holy Quran. unknown to her, she loved it and requested for the composer of the poem and she was given a copy of the Quran. well let me not go further to what actually happened at the end.
she made a statement which i want to share with every one on nairaland. she said if she had known muslims before her encounter with the Quran she would called it a bluff but rather vice versa was the case.
what am trying to point out from the above story is that you can never describe islam from the outside but instead you must  have a clearer knowledge of the Quran before you can definitely and conciously describe Islam as a religion of God.
let me give you my own idea of Islam, it is a mystrey which when you try to unfold you still find it mysterious, this  salvation thing is not what you get up morning and declare salvation for yourself, you really have to search for it and work for it. that was why God in the Quran emphasises a lot on the use of the gift of knowledge He has given to mankind. a mare teaching of the Quran by another person does not really make you understand it but your personal conviction of the message in the Quran. and in so many areas of the Quran, He declares that except ye be wise you will not understand the Quran.
so therefore my good friends on nairaland, you have done a great job trying to understand Islam but a further use of the wisdom God has given to you should be able to put you through.
i pray that may God Almighty directs you as you make another benefitting research on the religion called Islam.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by ISAHO(m): 4:29am On Aug 11, 2006
u did not miss any words in ur quotations but the only thing u missed was just the application;from history like you rightly said lets start counting how many the Prophet really had.

Q33:50 does not interprete that he married all of them. this verse mentioned paternal and maternal daughters, shall we say he married his relative .NO
Prophet Muhammad was a man of God in whom the oppressed, the widow, the poor, the needy found succour. God knew the heart of men very well that HE let these women be under his care not as wives but more functional to the propagation of Islam. He was appointed to them as their Father as well as Husband. Let me make u understand the word husband here. this is not the type of husband that u and i know but the one who serves as a custodian to these women, cater for their needs. there are old women among them, older than the prophet, shall we say he married those ones too? NO.

did u ask urself why would God ask us to follow the steps of the Prophet and yet gave him the monopoly of being the custodian of these women. because the heart of men can do otherwise. because maximum protection can be guaranteed in the Prophet.

There are lot of verses that u might misunderstand, quote them and Insha Allah i will be able to make u understand them, and if there is any i do not understand then i will need to go further to get the explanations for u. i think that`s what naira land was actually created for.

@babyosisi,

consistent backup from the Quran like marrying 12 to 16 wives? you cant be fed with an assertion and believe just like that without comfirming it. what the Quran said was marry at most four, and there is a clause there "except if you can put equality among them"

@barikade,

reaction after an action. may be i said it but not with the intention as an avenue of condemning christianity, i respects it like i always do, no strings attached.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Prophet Muhammad in the Bible by ISAHO(m): 7:27am On Aug 08, 2006
@malik

the fact that you were once a muslim does not mean you know everything while you were one. But i wonder why peolple easily use this to buttres their facts. A lot of muslim converts and christian converts abound everywhere, whether genuinely or otherwise, what does that matter.

I was not born muslim but do i need to announce it when whatever i do is for my own soul!

please post facts if at all you have any. also those negative words about the prophet, it is how you understand it and it does not make any believing muslim to get confused, it had been explained in various trends on nl.

"@ MALIK
It may not be written that way that that Allah is within us OR His spirit live with us, but was stated that Allah is closer to us than our jugular veins. I guess that should be okay for you.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims: What's Your Favorite Ayah Or Surah In The Quran? by ISAHO(m): 3:44am On Aug 08, 2006
@diyo,

Truely i was not born a muslim, but grew up to adopt islam inspite of the challenges that looms around it. Let me put my experiences as thus "Life is a mystery the more you unfold it, the more mysterious it is"yet we are brave enough as human to keep unfolding it.

I`ve come to understand that Islam is more mysterious but most men are reluctant to unfold it, may be after tirelessly unfolding the bit they could in part of life or by share ignorance. There is one life so every body accept it and give it different meanings, but Islam does not come with that luxury so most people cant see any specialty in it.

One thing i know for sure is that when the Quran states that except those that are wise Islam would not be understood by man. Not even when the idea of terrorism could not leave their heart and had beclouded them from seeing the Joy and realities that lies ahead.

This is all i can offer to share for now and more when the need permits.

Ever since i became a muslim, the Quran had been my source of inspiration. Whenever you open it you will always have something to learn from it. it encompasses all things in this world and its application is just so smooth and make me wonder why it is been misunderstood by some.
i cant say specifically which ayat or surah i love most but i can assur that whether the short or the long surah, you will always learn from it.
though am beginning to like the surat ikhlas because of its very precise conceptualisation of the Supreme Being, Allah.
May He continue to bless us all.

@edygirl,

so many thing had been learnt on this religion column of nairaland. i for one had learnt so many things but i still believe a more subtle and civil way of dealing with issues that has to be dialogued is that when we do not have a response to a yearning keeping quiet should be the best thing, and derogatory statement that lead to LOUD shout as it has been in several threads.

Just an advice please keep civil.

Religion / Re: Why Do Some Muslims Use Mind Games To Draw People Into Islam? by ISAHO(m): 2:40am On Jul 11, 2006
Mind games? i dont understand.

Everyman has control of his mind. It s a matter of choice. God has said that "He has given us the criteria between good and bad". He also said "He gave us the head not as a design for the eyes to see or the ears to hear neither has He given us the nose to smell or the mouth to talk but for collective use of them alongside with the brain. Sweetheart the way you use your own gifts is in your hands.

So if ther is anyone trying to outsmart you into accepting Islam, please be wise because "God said if you dont know Him then you ll never be able to worship Him".

Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Muslims Hate Christians So Much, Could This Be The Anti-christ Coming? by ISAHO(m): 2:24am On Jul 11, 2006
Waoh!!
I still dont understand why pple generally see and confirm Islam through human behaviours, the Quran clearly states the acts that would be perpetrated by muslim (hypocrites). It also states clearly the best behaviour a man should portray, so many of them that you see but ignore when you read the Quran. Atimes i feel like crying when i read about all these blasphemous postings by the christians with their dogmatic understanding of Islam.

My advice is this, for you (christians) to get an understanding of Islam, kindly take away your minds from any form of materialism or what is Islam going to offer you and base your mind with what you can achieve for your soul because the ultimate goal and reason why you are on this earth is to make heaven. Although that lies in your hands.

To the title of this thread, let me assure you that Islam does not preach hatred of christians or any other religions one can find but instead it enjoins us to relate to them and let the light of Islam to alway glow in any of our relatiings to them, so that even if they dont accept, they would at least appreciate it.

I enjoin you to make your rsearch very well bearing in mind the above considerations, afterward i bet you`ll at least appreciate it if you wont accept it. I stand to be challenged.

Peace as usual.

HEllo Abdulfatah.

My candid advice is that you should thread wisely and precisely. I can imagine your urge to the various responses but do it gently and tackle one after the other or you might get stock along the way.
Remember whatever you say does not and would not change their opinion, so please softly softly.

My APOLOGY! I might have used the wrong word but my intension was not to accuse her.

I believe she understands what i actually meant from the way she responded.
Religion / Re: Similarities And Differences Between Christianity And Islam by ISAHO(m): 3:13am On Jun 01, 2006
So this debate can come to this end. Well thank God it did.
To everyone that took part, i say i enjoy your postings especially

@mlks babe,
I am touched by the death of your boyfriend, please accept my sincere condolence. I can really see from your postings that men,this lady has a passionate hatred for Islam and the Muslims. But i would like to say categorically that though your boyfriend died in the war in iraq, Islam and the muslims wouldn`t have been responsible to the untimely death.

Like i said in my earlier posting we should learn to respect other people`s views especially on religion. I wont fail to let you know that i salute your intelligence for your studies in both religions but i think you can do more than that like making people understand your view without making them look stupid for their beliefs.

Once again, may the gentle soul of your boyfriend rest in peace.

@ajia,
I enjoy your calm responses, you actually gave what you know and it`s in no where in your postings short of the Islamic teachings. My own understanding of the Quran about the world population is that there are three types of people, i) the Unbelivers, ii) the Believers and iii) the Hypocrites which constitute the larger population of the world, the Quran says alot about them and how they perpetrate their evils against the believers that is why today Islam suffers the pains of their misrepresentations.

But thanks to people like you who will come out to make the difference known to the world over.

Keep it up, May Allah reward you abundantly.

@TayoD,

I dont mean any harm, but i personally dont like your style. It is your type that can bring another Osama Bin Laden or cause another religious war. You use mlks babe as a shield to achieve your hidden motive which totally negate the motive you stated while beginning this debate. But i believe next time you will make amends because the Sky is very big to accommodate the birds to fly without touching each other.

@IG,

Your contributions actually mend the debate from derailing and retraced it back to the anticipated point of dicussion.

@nuru,

I took your silence not to be because you dont know what to say but because you had to take that bold and civilised step after you were being chickened out by the insult that your IQ was too low for the debate which nobody will tolerate.

I salute your boldness.

And to others that made their contribution. Well done all.
Religion / Re: Similarities And Differences Between Christianity And Islam by ISAHO(m): 1:52am On May 29, 2006
I have followed this debate right from the begining and i found it interesting, insultive through out at the same time.
As far as this debate is concern it has not met the aim at which the initiator had proposed, instead it grew into excessive insults which is very unhealthy. The various approaches so far had neglected the respect for other people`s views towards his or her religion.
Prophet Muhammed and Jesus Christ both came and met a particular religion on ground and were not at anytime against those religion met on ground.
Jesus Christ said he has not come to to condemn the law (mosaic law). And he went on to preach his message with peace that we find difficult to emulate from. He suffered bruality of the highest order despite his peaceful preachings. But slowly but steadily his messages were accepted.
Prophet Muhammed also came with the mesage and he met concrete blocks but with patience and perseverance, the message was accepted to the extent that his worst enemies during the propagation of Islam became his closest companions.
But it is very unfortunate that non of the parties to this debate has exhibited this characters displayed by these great men of GOD.
GOD from both books said, "I am the lord your GOD in whom belongs everything that exists and had existed between the heaven and earth". This statement alone has defeated the perceived similarities and differences in which this debate tends to extract. With this statement, whether Jesus is the Son of GOD or Prophet Muhammed is the Messenger of GOD, they both fall under the Authority and Command of the Almighty GOD, as Jesus Christ had always claimed.
So therefore, my friends, should we fail or find it difficult to emulate the peaceful characters of these two great men i will suggest that we end this debate but if on the contrary, then with peace we shall be able to understand respect our views of which i would love to be part of it.
Peace has always been the basis of togetherness and understanding let`s have it at the back of our minds.

Sallam/Shalom.
