slimmy05: Absolutely. If you have taken time to actually read the bone of contention to see the stressed words, the argument wouldn't have been necessary.
concurred

I'm OK...no need for any apology. I'm objective and won't take any clear talk personally-almost and all are not the same. I'm a tough guy!
Alright... I've heard you, Mr tough guy.

Joenice: If you really want to succeed in life, please forget about how hostile people might be towards you. Sometimes, criticisms is good, so as to bring out the best in you.

Some of my best friends criticized me a lot in the past, even when I coughed, they said i smoke weed but in reality, they're the one smoking shits. Till God caught one of them. Ever since then, they never ever criticized me and when I talk, they always listen. cheesy

Keep up with your dreams and don't get discouraged or disturbed.
Sir, neither did I criticized him nor was I hostile towards him. I only emphasized Bigfrancis's point but I never thought it'd be taken as an offence by him. Anyways, i've apologized to him.

Even the Op has acknowledged he should not have generalised when MsNas called him out. I have seen your write-ups here and you need to improve.

99% may rely on marriages but u can't say they all secure the GC only from marriages because 1% follow non-marriage routes. End game....u can't say no matter the other ways...u need marriages to cement the green cards. Use Google... a nice tool or don't u trust it too?

Sb just said after two years, F1 holders can join the military. I will still check on that.

I just learnt kids born off diplomats aren't given citizenship.

Check the meaning of end game! I was addressing osahons9. Others backed my claim..he was the one stifling my opinion. Did u bother to read from the beginning? Are u OK?
why are you being so sentimental over it? Well in response to your question sir, am ok. I did as you asked me to, however, I didnt find anywhere in the dictionary where "end game" is a synonym for "only". Or may be you should educate me more on that. Am a willing learner sir.

Some people wait that long in order to avoid marriage brohaha. You can find a true lover in the US and go for it than going for anyhow spouse just for GC. So marriage is not the only way...maybe English was the problem.
go through their points again, none of them never said marriage was the only way. Their point is marriage seems to be the easiest way.

chrisezedei1987: Thanks for your contributions so far. Wished I have been here before now, it couldn't have gotten to this extent.
First, the scholarship letter is Genuinely from the office of the Hon. In the federal house, prepared, signed and dated by him but in the actual sense, he is not to pay my fees but he will be contributing. That's why he gave me the letter.
My Soa is genuine and verifiable, and that of my uncle too.

Please JabinodelaRatta will like us to talk more on my inbox. Really need you to go through my reviews and possibly make contributions. Am new in this NL don't really know whom to talk to, please if there are some gurus u can introduce me to, that will help me too. My email: chrisezedei@yahoo.com

i think what you are referring to as scholarship from your honorable should be a sponsorship letter if am not wrong. Because am just wondering what kind of scholarship is that. What's the scholarship for? What did you do to merit it? From your explanation, it sounded more like an arranged sponsorship letter from your honorable than a scholarship. Bro feel free to share your difficulties and challenges here. Everyone here is one Big Family. My advice for you is that you should be more open. Everyone here is willing to help and give you advice where necessary. Feel at home. You are at the right place.

chrisezedei1987: Please JabinodelaRatta what are the necessary improvement that I need to make to avoid such denials again. Yes I used my Uncle b4 because my Father's statement at that point wasn't enough to take care of the bills.
And then İ thought getting a scholarship letter from the reps member will strengthen my application. So I did thinking that I hv hit the jacks port. I had feelings that the scholarship letter must have raised a red flag so i decided to do away with it the second time. B4 then I never had a family like nairaland, so no one to discuss with. Please what I need is your help.
As for the "porting" PME is a major found under Mechanical Engineering in most schools. Some overseas university offer it under EEE along with Biomedical Engineering or Biopharmaceutical Engineering.

Thanks as I look forward to possible solutions.

bro you have to be truthful to yourself, i think that's the first thing. The thing is, that your supposed scholarship was it "arrangeee"? Also. How authentic are your documents especially your personal soa, your dad's and that of your uncle? Until you genuinely answer those questions, i really do not know what to say. And also take heed to what Sabiguy suggested. Do not fast-track your US ambition, in otherwords, do the needful cleansing before re-firing.

bro like i said before, your soa n supposed scholarship are suspicious. From your first interview, i could see that you had combined source of funding: personal, relative and your supposed scholarship. Your unfortunate fate started from your supposed scholarship. And then again, you were not consistent. I find it hard to understand why you had to change your sponsor from personal/relative to your daddy. If your dad could sponsor you, why didnt you use him in your first interview. Besides, in the second interview, you didnt bring along your supposed scholarship from your honorable; that alone asserted the suspicion from the VO. The reason you gave for not including the school as one of your score recipients was too weak. Instead of saying advice from your industrial pharmist, why not explain that advice to the VO as if it's originating from you?

chrisezedei1987: Good day,
I have been denied F1 Visa twice under section 214 (b) (i guess it is a general response) I have tried to figure out what the problem could have been, if they have viewed any of my documents as untrue and put a barn in my profile.

My case

I got admission to study Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Engineering at Stevens institute of technology NJ but i studied Electrical Engineering hope that's not a problem.

I got a scholarship letter from a member of house of reps. Don't know if the VO must hv viewed this as untrue and put a barn. Again I used my second uncle as my sponsor and presented his account statement that is dated a month b4 my interview date. This is in my first interview.
Then in the second interview, Used my dad as my sponsor and presented his account statement. I don't know if I have a very big red flag and how are my chances of making it this time again?

My two previous interviews where in Abuja but I want to use Lagos embassy this time around my appointment is scheduled on 30th of September 2014, please i want to know if it will raise another red flag as being desperate.
I am afraid if they have viewed the scholarship letter as being fraudulent ( i had a genuine scholarship letter) and put a life barn on my profile.
Please what can I do and how can I possibly know if there is a barn on my profile.
Again if there is a barn, can't I take them to curt because I have every prove that my documents are genuine and Authentic.

Am in a serious need of help. Please help! It's urgent
mr man, it doesnt matter where you had the interview or where you intend to have it, they already have your info in their database. A change of program also has nothing to do with it in as much as you are able to give a reasonable explanation to that; and i want to believe that shouldnt be a problem for you because you alone know why you are "porting" from EE to PME. All that being said, i think you are being economical with the truth about your supposed scholarship from the house of rep member and soa as you seemed herein your statement to be contradicting yourself. By the way you expressed it, you acknowledged yourself of culpability of forgery of some sort. Like Slimmy05 advised, you should paste the full two previous transcripts.

Mr. ferdimako, I quite understand your views. I have been following your posts for some time now, sir. You are indeed patriotic albeit, in some funny way. Sir, pardon me, you seem to be so full of hate about Nigeria. Indeed, it's normal for a sane being to feel the same way considering the many ills in our land. But, I have a question for you, sir: Since 1966, what have we achieved with our rants as Nigerians?

Nigerians are the funniest set of beings God created. If indeed you want change in the country, it is not by trying to make those who are seeking 'greener pastures' your targets. The way we see things are different. Left to me, folks who have interacted with me know that if I had my way, I wouldn't even think of traveling out of this country.

However, consider this: as a graduate student, won't it be insane for me to neglect an offer to be studying while being paid than to accept an offer of studying while still dependent on my parents? For some of us, 'yankee' is not the final destination, only a means to an end.

Please, let us direct our criticisms to the right quarters. Below are the handles of some men that are close to the seat of power. Tweet at them:

@abati1990
@doyinokupe
@renoomokri
@MrFixNigeria

Sir, please, I did not write this to disrespect you.

homu88: VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning Sir
(I passed my documents to the VO. He looked at them and typed a few things on his keyboard.)
VO: I see you’re going to XYZ University. Why XYZ University?
Me: XYZ have a prestigious engineering faculty and they offer good research opportunities. The electrical engineering faculty and they offer a course that I am interested in.
VO: (cuts in) what course again?
Me: Advanced Power Systems Design and Analysis
(I have been working as a power plant engineer so I expected him to ask about power systems or what I have been doing since I graduated but instead he goes)
VO: can I see your grades?
(I passed my University degree and transcripts = 3.9/5)
VO: Do you have your WAEC?
Me: Yes Pls (I passed the WAEC result laminated. Before he started looking at my result scripts, I added). I also have the results of my standardized tests.
VO: let me have them. (I passed my GRE and TOEFL results…. GRE = 305, TOEFL=105. He looked at them and asked me to hold on. Then he walked in with my GRE and TOEFL printout plus my WAEC. I applied for a Master’s degree. I was wondering why my WAEC result was requested for in the first instance and why he left my original degree certificate on his desk. He returned after 2 minutes, looks at my I-20 and asks)
VO: Who is Mr. ABC?
Me: He is my father and is sponsoring my education.
VO: Can I see his statement pls. (I passed it to him)
VO: Where did you get this from?
Me: It was given to me by my father (he looks at it and types further then he went for the white paper).
VO: I’m sorry but you’re not ready to go to the US at this time. The reasons are stated in that form.
Me: (I smiled at him and said) Thank you. (Then I packed my documents and walked out.)

I have read many pages in this thread especially part 5 and VOs give applicants benefit of doubt before denying them visa. I had authentic documentation and good scores. I believe I wasn't given any opportunity to explain anything. He didn't ask me about what I have been doing since I graduated or any questions about my school.
I want VOs in the house to read my transcript and help me with any flags as I have to show a change in my current position during my next application.
Thanks
bro sorry about your denial. Quickly, going through your transcript, there are three things i spotted. Firstly, desperation: the VO barely asked for your documents before passing them to him; and also he didn't ask for your test scores before you on your own volition passed them to him. That's a reflection of desperation on your part. Lesson: let the vo do the request and you the appropriate response. Secondly, conflict of interest: you mentioned that the school has a good research history however you created an impression that you're more interested in a particular course. Now am tempted to ask, as an intending graduate student, is it a particular course that should be of interest to you or your proposed research area? One of the reasons why you should choose a particular school is because their research area aligns with yours, but you didn't demostrate that. Thirdly, the authenticity of your bank statement: the vo must have spotted something on your BS that gave him the impression that it's not authentic. Try to work on these and "re-strike"; the visa is yours!! My own little contribution.
