GanagiBitrus: I remembered the 1-0 loss against Ivory Coast in 2006, I was in primary school then and our teacher brought his TV to school so that every could watch together. Didier Drogba score the winner. Imagine the bittersweet feeling for me and the teacher as we were both Chelsea fan. 7 Likes |

guysbewise: If you're reading this and wondering whether what Mr is saying above is valid, just know he's wrong and his experiences is not what's generally happening in the tech industry. Even if he's the CTO of Google and Facebook combined, don't take his word for it. In fact, Google, Microsoft, and Apple don't require a CS degree. In fact, if you can prove exceptional in what you do, they won't care if you didn't go to primary school. All the knowledge you can get in a CS degree is available on the internet for free. You can learn whatever you wish from the internet. Top universities and schools release their CS curriculum and resources for people who wish to learn the fundamentals. The only difference is that you don't get to listen to a 70 years old lecturer read their experience and life history to you in a class setting despite never having work in tech all their life. If there's one field where paper qualifications holds no inherent value, it's tech and the software industry. To the author I'm quoting, I'd really like to know the knowledge you applied from your CS degree that helped you solved a problem at work. Be specific, be elaborate, and then explained why you concluded only people with a CS degree would come up with your solution. 1 Like |

I've seen this story several times and I had no internet whatsoever. However, hearing NNPCL spending on private individuals without accountability is worrisome. The thing is Nigeria is just vibes and no strategy. Otherwise, what's a government institution like NNPCL concern with this. As for the story itself, I'm genuinely surprised the hyped reaction to this. Trivial stuff gets a lot of us whirled up in this country. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Food / Re: Tomato Paste Is Not Good For Stew. Finding by jelel6: 1:07pm On Dec 28, 2023 |
For every cooking recipe and method, there's always a champion. Variety is the spice of life. During my service I shared apartment with a guy from Benue, he cooks stew with ONLY tomatoes paste. He actually doesn't know how to use fresh tomatoes. He was a generally good cook and the stew always turned out very very good. Better than all the others in the lodge who preferred fresh tomatoes. 1 Like |

genius43: Yes, the battery was healthy and about 80 percent when it got into the loop. I've been trying to clear the cache or format the device in fastboot mode. But to do anything advance, I have to pretty much unlock the bootloader. But Xiaomi has tied the unlocking sequence as a feature that can only be enabled as a Developer options through settings when the device is booting normally into the OS. I'm pretty much stuck at every corner. |

genius43: Hi Genius and @y'all. My Redmi 9 is stock on a boot loop whereby it will turn on, display the Redmi logo and turn off. Holding the power and volume down button successful boots into fastboot and won't turn off this time until I manually power it down. Holding the volume up and down keys together with the power keys boot to the recovery screen where I can select recovery, fastboot and normal boot. But selecting any option apart from the fastboot results in the device turning off and won't come back on. Any advice and anything else I can do? |
Sports / Re: UEFA, Premier League, Top Clubs Reject European Super League by jelel6: 10:38am On Dec 22, 2023 |
The first time they came with their elitist Super League and received a huge backlash, you could forgive them and say they'll learn from it. Now, however, the greed in these Spanish Mafia clubs such as Real and Barca is nauseating. The new format they came up with is even worse and out of touch with reality. How can you suggest it will take a minimum of 3 years for the team which hypothetically wins their league just to get into the top tier in Super League? Meaning they'll have to work their way up from the lower league like the teams in league 1 and championship has to do in England. Hahaha Real and Barca can go ahead with their new competition. But nobody will watch it. They have had their golden years during the era of Messi and Ronaldo. They'll never get to that much hype again. They milked their leagues dry by collecting 50% of the revenues while the rest struggled with half. Now, they fear they can't compete with the biggest premier league teams financially who initially supported the whole league rather than demand greater share of revenue at the detriment of the rest. They'll be humbled those greedy lots. 1 Like |

FRANCISTOWN: The dynamics between a boss and an employee is completely different from that which (should) exist in a personal relationship between a husband and wife in a home. if you want to excuse a man's unreasonable behaviour because it's akin to a boss in a professional setting, I guess you wouldn't expect the wife to still love, respect and trust an unreasonable fella. Because I've never heard of an employee who liked and wished well an insultive boss or superior. 1 Like |

Family / Re: My Wife Decide Not To Apologize For Offending Me by jelel6: 7:33pm On Dec 15, 2023 |
FRANCISTOWN: We can all complain about manner of approaches or our expectations for a certain level of understanding and patience from our wives and husbands, but the fact is we must be reasonable with our expectations and fulfill our own part. If the OP (husband) is actually owing his wife money and yet to pay, it's obvious that the reason the wife made that statement was because she clearly feels the OP is not showing her enough reasons that he's trying or willing to payback. Paying her back should be his priority now (or reiterate that he's doing his best to pay back) and then be angry enough not to borrow from her again if he feels so offended by this particular statement. Expecting someone else to act reasonably when you yourself have not acted in a dignified manner is folly and lottery at best: you get what you see and not necessarily what you bargained for 2 Likes |

tesppidd: That's the caveat. Although they said the 2022 world cup period is still being taken into account for this one. Messi is the best footballer for as long as he plays in my opinion, but Halaand should win this one. |
Sports / Re: Who Deserves To Be The Best FIFA Men's Player Of The Year by jelel6: 6:28pm On Dec 15, 2023 |
Beverlyjean: It's going to be difficult to argue that a defender should win the best player award partly because he was good and his team won titles. Reaching the semis was a great achievement but being a defender, he'd never win such an award because scoring goals and playing as an attacker is much harder. If they want to give the award to the actual best player, Messi should be winning it every year. They sometimes tend to give it to players who had more team success or merely scored a few goals more. Mind you, Messi had already won the FIFA THE BEST AWARD for the year 2022 he won the world cup. So Halaand maybe the winner because that feat has already being taken into account. |
Sports / Re: Who Deserves To Be The Best FIFA Men's Player Of The Year by jelel6: 12:37am On Dec 15, 2023 |
Beverlyjean: Yes, I agree. Osimhen isn't as good as Salah all round. They both had great seasons individually scoring goals. However, Osimhen was able to lead his team to the league title. Liverpool won nothing last year and were pretty bad overall. Team success gave osimhen African footballer of the year. Halaand won a lot last year both individually and collectively, but so did Messi. It then comes down to who you'd pay money to watch. |

InventTech: Very hard to mentioned impact and individual brilliance and not arrived at Messi. There's absolutely nothing brilliant about the way halaand plays football. He's the most traditional and one-dimentional elite striker in the game. Absolutely nothing in his game apart from scoring goals. If Messi can make Ronaldo comparatively look like a pure striker, he'd make Halaand look like a defender when you compare individual brilliance. 7 Likes 1 Share |
