I have nothing against indians as long as they do not behave like assistant caucasian/beter immigrants.
I work in the health sector as well, one of my top concern is most Indian doctors have not been able to pass the licencing exam here in Alberta, same with our Nigerian doctors, though our people still perform better.
Prior to relocating and up till now, I hear a lot about how superb indian doctors are, most of them now drive uber or work at call centres... they would only mention that canada is bad and it is almost impossible to practice, but wont say I have written exam twice but was unable to pass.
Is canada licensing exam so difficult for doctors? Or these indian doctors are just Grade F doctors? Kindly enlighten me. Cheers mate.
Out of 20 Nigerian/25 Indian doctors that wrote this exam recently, 5 person passed, all naija, 0 Indian. Most are now trying to go back for residency or attend a physician assistant course.
Hi boss, are you a doctor? |

Net pay in Ontario for that amount is about 5,800. Average one bed condo is 2500(studio like 2k) , car insurance 300, gas, groceries, utilities, miscellaneous etc. what about those with mortgages . Dey play 😂 Its not even up to 5800 per month. |

If a person is PR and is earning over 100k in a year and cannot have saved 30k this year, then there's a big problem wrong with that person. That person needs a very strong lecture on financial management. I know this is besides the point made in your post, but it needs to get out there regardless. 100k after tax is circa 60k per year o; have you factored that in? |

hotwax: Same with my school alumni WhatsApp group.
However in another dimension
I was the most unserious student in our class. I failed more than panda.
So when they added me to the WhatsApp group and asked me to introduce myself. I told them I work with a bank as tech auditor.
There was silence on the platform for 2 days. The moderator asking me questions stopped responding.
since then, anytime I contribute to any discussion on the platform, they snub me.
They even quote names to show me they are not referring to me or not expecting me to join their discussions.
Whenever they are exchanging jokes and I join, everyone will just go quiet. Before you know it, I exited the platform. No one even private chat me to know why I left.
All I saw was, they wrote me off while at school, but was shocked and angry I am doing better than them That’s very strange. |

I'm simply telling people to look at the whole picture. Again, ignorance is not an excuse. If jumping from naija to Canada, why doesn't this person do the full research ? If they did, they'd know nothing is guaranteed anywhere you go, and there may be a chance you'll never practice X (insert profession) in Canada.
My friend let's stop playing games and be direct. A typical Nigerian coming to Canada for example, wants the big boy title, then the money. I'm saying nobody cares about the big boy title in Canada. Chase your objectives not your dreams. That objective is making money and having a better quality of life. The superior complex ingrained in a typical Nigerian is showing in this post.
That "floor cleaner" is a professional building service attendant. He earns 100k in Canada, lives in a better house than 99% of doctors in naija, holds a Canadian passport, and when you compare cost of living; that doctor in naija is living in poverty compared to that "floor cleaner".
That Uber driver can package his skills and become a professional driver, while moving out of Toronto. He can work for the TTC or any municipal transit driver and make up to 100k per year with a government gold plated pension. But they'd never take that advice because they're too busy looking for a "Better career opportunities", aka trying to impress people who don't feed them or their family.
I don't understand how my family is part of this discussion, yet I'm projecting ? Not all your family members are perfect sir. You can't migrate to Canada if you come from poverty. Supportive family with different aspirations and "expectations". Just say you're too insecure to work certain jobs because of what your family would think of you. Again I repeat, the same family that doesn't feed you here in Canada.
My past hardship has allowed me to put things in perspective at all times. Again I repeat. Ignorance is no longer an excuse with most people having access to the internet. And Canada owes you absolutely nothing. If you don't know how to hustle in Canada or you can't make it in Canada, just say so. Stop trying to blame the system. Nigerians never look at themselves in the mirror. Recent statistics showed only 11% of Canadians earn over 100k per annum; how does a cleaner make that? Nah people like you dey make people back home cross desert thinking this place is flowing with milk and honey. 9 Likes |

Maria96: only few directors and senior management staff/ partners earn that amount in private sector and public sector. The average director in public service for Ontario is on 130k to 150k. Stop being obsessed about that kind of salary because you will pay huge amount of taxes instead find how you can create a business that can generate that kind of income and hire a good tax accountant. Shalom Thank you Maria; you wouldn’t blame me for being obsessed nah; Money must be made. I don’t mind you sharing ideas on businesses one can delve into here in Canada. |

Hi everyone, I have a question; I guess our bosses @salford, @megastu, @ednut, among others will be able to draw from their experiences and share helpful insights. So I was on a call with a friend who works as a Senior Business Analyst for a Big Pharma, and we were discussing about how attainable a salary threshold of 200kcad per annum is. I even whimsically chipped in the case of a family friend who works as a Director of Strategy for PWC and how I’m certain she earns way more than that. I was shocked when my statement was returned with a hysterical laughter and how that threshold is almost a pipe dream in Canada. Bottom line is he claimed people who earn that in Canada can be literally counted with your fingers and how he has never met anyone who earns that high in his 10-year career.
I’d like to ask if what he said is true; how attainable is the 200k salary threshold? All comments are welcome. 1 Like |

You mean you got a quote of 300/month with your international license? Do you mind sharing what part of Canada you live? I reside in Hamilton and I want to use my international license for a while pending the completion of renewal for my Nigeria license (to skip G2). |

Arrowhead12: Hello guys.
Please I’ve got a question on POF.
I currently have a USD account on Payoneer (a platform that allows freelancers to have foreign bank accounts) where I deposit some money from my side hustle as a Freelancer which I intend to present as my POF. The entire required POF is 13,757 CAD which is roughly 10,000 USD.
I currently have 7,000 USD in the account and I recently got my ITA. Before I accept the ITA, can I make make a deposit by withdrawal of 3,000 USD on the account from my Fiverr or Upwork account to make the balance 10,000 USD without it raising any issues post-ITA since the 3,000 will be traceable to my freelance work and can be clearly classified as my income? Your payoneer wallet isn’t a bank account; you’d have to transfer the funds to your dormicilliary account or a traditional bank account. It’s a payment platform not a bank. In addition, you’d have to submit reference letter in addition to your bank statement; that’d be difficult to execute with Payoneer. |
