Crime / Re: Scene Of The Accident Where NUJ Officials Died by Jongrac: 2:19am On Aug 06, 2013
So sad and painful. Especially that, most death in Nigeria can be avoided if safety measure is taking more seriously and adequate infrastructures are put in place. May their families find comfort in God.

I am a Catholic o

Young man, what is correct about the above statements? That Americans don't believe in God or that Pope Francis would legalize gay marriage during his reign.

Please desist from believing in falsehood and try to critique the reason behind someone else's thoughts or beliefs.
Americans believes in God more than Africans, that their law allows for individual freedom and rights does not make them less religious, it reflects the mantra that all humans are made equal and should be respected for their individuality.
If in your imagination, you think that Pope Francis would legalize gay marriage in the catholic church, then I advice you to start preparing for the end of the world, cos IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN NOW OR ANY OTHER TIME IN THE FUTURE OF THE CHURCH.
Politics / Re: Soyinka Is An Embarrassment To His Admirers – Patience Jonathan by Jongrac: 8:24pm On Jul 13, 2013
If this is true of PEJ, then Nigeria is in deep trouble than I thought.
No wonder President Obama avoided OUR own first family by not visiting Nigeria in his recent African tour cos no sane person would want his Wife to interact with a woman who has no respect for Men talk least of a Global Figure like Prof. Soyinka. It's possible that PEJ talks back at her husband in the same rude and disrespectful manner.
Career / Re: I'm Considering Leaving Medicine - Please Advise by Jongrac: 7:39pm On Jun 05, 2013
What we see from the outside is usually not what it is when one gets to the inside. I am concerned that you've been way too long on the inside to know how medicine works, you should have fallen in love or developed love for medicine through the many years of perseverance and study - or could it be you bought your way through medical school and now afraid of defending your cert?
If NO, then go find out how you could love the course you spent a good number of your years on earth studying, don't use other people's story as a basis for switching. It may not work for you, and if it happens, I can only think of one word in the end - FRUSTRATION.

The authenticity of this story should concern anyone, buy it or trash it. One thing holds true - stories like this carries traces of truth in it. The abuse of office by Nigerian Public Officers is the bane of Nigerian's development and this should matter to all patriotic citizens of the FRN.
Politics / Re: Rotimi Amaechi Has Been Suspended From PDP by Jongrac: 2:28am On May 29, 2013
Must someone be in a different party for opposition to occur? Haven't you heard of opposing views before?

May their souls rest in peace and may the bereaved find consolation in God, I also pray that those responsible for this act be brought to justice.
We should learn to value the sanctity of life - whatever you can not create, you should not destroy or aid its destruction.
Politics / Re: Rotimi Amaechi Has Been Suspended From PDP by Jongrac: 1:46am On May 28, 2013
With this, the whole now understands that Nigeria still lack democratic governance....zero tolerance for opposing views, how can a president resort to street fighting, where are his advisers? Truthfully, GEJ has lost every respect he has in the eyes of Nigerians...a desperate man never makes a good leader.
Gosh...no wonder, President Obama isn't visiting Nigeria cos Jonathan is not fit to shake his hands, God help Nigeria cos in my thinking, things could get a lot worse if GEJ is not checked, he needs to be told that Nigeria is not his property.

Career / Re: Offer Letter In Jos Or Kadunna Confused by Jongrac: 11:53pm On May 03, 2013
Why would anyone compare Jos to Kaduna, when it is very glaring that Kaduna is by far ahead of Jos in all indices.
If you are basing your reason on Security, then you have no argument as Nigeria as a country is presently battling with security issues - each state with its own fair share.
Base your decision on the economy of the state and how quickly you could make impact on your new job which is largely dependent on demographics, business opportunities and wealth in the state, these are key factors to consider should you are deployed as a sales person.
Kaduna has a strong presence of industries, military, big business, beautiful places to pass time e.t.c
Fact check and you would see that Kaduna is clearly ahead in the game.....I wish you luck.
Politics / Re: Alamisiegha's Pardon: US Expresses Regret by Jongrac: 7:48pm On Mar 15, 2013
Nigeria under GEJ has lost what is left of her credibility, it will take an exceptionally selfless, honest and smart Nigerian President to redeem the Office of President of the FRN.
I sincerely weep for my HOMELAND....God, how did we get our selves into this mess?
Travel / Re: The Truth About Living Abroad by Jongrac: 4:51am On Dec 19, 2012
manny4life:

also compare that to those that can commute to the hamptons, beverly hills etc..

We can also do that, that's no biggie...either way, the difference is VERY clear. If you want to flaunt unnecessary stats and numbers out there, then let's do it right.

If you know that "per your second paragraph", then stick to your argument bruh, rather than flaunting your, "how many Americans can afford to live in Hampton". I don't need to live in Hampton nor the hill to be considered rich, after all the top 50 wealthiest Americans DO NOT live in either of these places.

Many people may not afford $10million homes like the Hampton and Beverly Hill, but they sure can afford the $200's, $300's even up to $1million depending on their profession. Doctors, lawyers, Engineers are prime examples.

Why the argument over what is brazenly and conspicuously obvious? That you are attempting to qualify the standard of livings between both countries is absurd. Am proudly Nigerian, but truth is, there is no basis of comparison at least for now - rich or poor.

Stop the noise about private residential areas like Banana Rep - NG or Hampton in US that access to it is usually restricted by the rich occupants, reflect on this :How many Nigerians (Rich or Poor) has the slightest idea of what Aso Rock looks like - a supposedly govt building, publicly built and funded to house a sitting Nigerian President, think of how much the US Govt makes from visitors(just to come and see and snap pics @ a considerable distance away from the building) to the White House annually. Almost everybody in the world knows WH Pic when they see it on TV or Newspapers aside the ever functional WH webpage where you can go on a virtual tour in and around the building and also read about the WH.

Telling ourselves the truth will do a lot if we are to redeem our country Nigeria, things aren't the way it should be, and we all have a stake in fixing it either Home or foreign based.

The OP is obviously far from the truth....Nigeria is OK and so is US depending on the opportunity available to an individual at a time, T which differs from person to person. I would advise you stop pushing false claims as if everything is bad out there, pls try give some credit to Nigerians in Diaspora that have not only made it but done us proud.
Most Nigerians don't intend to spent all their years in foreign land, just that @ some point in one's life and career especially for wanna be high fliers and those that aspire for leadership positions, there exist that natural flare for international exposure and affiliations (Education, Seminars, Exhibitions e.t.c) which greatly enhances success upon return to home country.
I will give an example; I would be resigning my Job as a Retail Banking Executive to pursue an MS degree in a STEM discipline in the US. Got Full Scholarship and awarded Research Assistantship with a monthly pay higher than my current monthly pay as a staff of one of the big 3 banks, suffice to also mention that with good grades upon completion, am guaranteed full funding for my PhD.
But let me add quickly, it takes lots and lots of hard work, prayers, discipline and focus to achieve the above, we all know how hard it is to get an admit to a US University let alone Scholarship and the US Visa.
Clearly, there is always a future for anybody that is hardworking irrespective of one's location.....I ain't doing badly at all here in Nigeria, and by His Grace, would do exceedingly great in the US.

I dont think you need any medicals. When you get to the US you'll just need to get flu shots and it's free at public health centers.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Anderson Cooper Admits That He's Gay by Jongrac: 11:41am On Jul 04, 2012
Jonwesley: The fact remains that keeping the silence for this long means he is afraid of the backlash that wld come with his revealation of him being gay and i'm not surprised of his silence but shocked about Andy Cooper being gay. Anyone who involve in same sex knows it is a wrong practice and highly abominable and condemnable too. The audacity to confess now is gaining ground now becos of inevitability of the end of man and the world.God made man and found that it was not good for the man to be alone, He then made a help mete, (not MATE) as erroneoulsy held by some pple, a woman with a rib taken out of the man. The woman means- taken out of man. He created them males and females. "Males and females created He them". At the end, men shall be lovers of themselves...... the Bible has said everything.

Of the phyllum of mammals, man is the only sad creature that has changed this order. Or can anyone tell me where the male dog, elephant, cat etc makes loves with another of his male counterpart? The body of a woman is made so sensual for the man to react positively to it and if a man's senses go opposite, then his head need to be re-examined, period.

Jonwesley......you've said it all, I need not say a thing. May God bless you.
Education / Re: Emmanuel Ohuabunwa 1st Blackman With 3.98 GPA At John Hopkins University by Jongrac: 5:03am On Jun 28, 2012
Thumbs up for Emmanuel for doing himself well and making us proud by utilizing the opportunity that came his way, however my concern is that there are a lot of kids outta here in the Nigerian Space that has got commensurate skills and potentials but whose stories could possibly never be heard not because they aren't good but the system would not create nor support true learning and development.
Same dysfunctional system would lobby to have dis guy come back home after been baked by another state that pays attention to fundamentals - how possible? This guy's allegiance would be more to the US that made him who he eventually becomes.

Let GEJ do the unthinkable if he so wishes, two things are so certain; He won't win 2nd term and PDP can never takeover Lagos.
His arse l icking advisers owe him national duty 2 tell him these cos he is clearly living in ASO fantasy ROCK.

Jonathan has lost it, wat a sad way 2 celeb democracy day by giving himself away to insults from hitherto loyal students. Oda advanced countries name buildings and memorials after fallen heroes. Beta still, should there be any nid 2 immortalize anyone, such wld hav bin tort out frm inception and nt abruptly changing d name of a renowned institution lik UNILAG. For those who care 2knw, name is brand, n brand markets d product. I stand wif d students on this one!
Politics / Re: US Cuts Demand For Nigerian Crude by Jongrac: 10:12pm On May 28, 2012
It is a pity that the "so called" leaders of Nigeria today will be bequeathing a failed nation with no single trace of a prosperous future for incoming generations, most worrisome is the attitude of seeing clearly the destructive path we are headed but yet misconstruing it to mean progress.
Right before our very eyes, our country is being plunged into darkness and doom. What will become of our children and children's generation?
Only God knows!

damilarelr: Guys take it easy, Dragnet is a well-organised recruiting agent. Everyone gets a different date and a different time..mine is slated for May 31, others' will be different. Just make sure your phone is working and you check your email at least twice daily (when you wake up and when you want to sleep). However, all those who drop their email address should check their mailbox. I have sent a study pack of the likely questions. Mind you, for each section you have 17 minutes to solve 20 questions..meaning that your full concentration is needed to respond well. Meanwhile, the Verbal reasoning requires two answers per question, the two must be correct or else you miss the mark for that question. Go to the venue fully prepared, be in good state of mind and health. You might not need calculator because of the little time. Good luck![/i]

damilarelr....pls send me the study pack @ idokojj@yahoo.com

Thanks in adv.
