Computers / Re: Error 678: Remote Computer Not Responding by Jovann: 8:08am On Oct 03, 2011
have you ever browsed with any other sim in the modem apart from Glo. if not, then it means your settings are probably wrong for other networks to browse.

I dont believe the setting is wrong. When i insert another Sim , it automatically register the network and its settings and i did check all this to verify.

Pdp Strived To Field Fashola For The April Polls --kwankwaso
« on: Today at 05:36:24 AM »

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State yesterday lamented that the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) failed to field his Lagos state counterpart, Babatunde Fashola, at the April polls because of certain lapses.

Playing guest to Fashola at the state secretariat, Alausa Ikeja, Kwankwaso confessed that it was the wish of the PDP to have Fashola fly its flag two months ago.

Disclosing that his visit was part of his administration's resolve to kick start a rebirth and economic partnership in Kano State, Kwankwaso said, "I found it necessary to come and see my brother, I want to congratulate him, even though we had wanted him to contest under the platform of the PDP, nevertheless, we wish him well".

According to him, his relationship with Lagos State dates back to 20 years ago, adding that Kano and Lagos states share many things in common."I have had good relationship with the leadership in Lagos. I was with Bola Tinubu at the National Assembly twenty years ago when he was a senator and I was the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps under the SDP and I have so many friends and senators in Lagos as well. So, since then I have had very good relationship with Lagos, he said."

Kwankwaso who was governor of Kano State between 1999 and 2003 to return eight years after said the period within which he left office and returned afforded him an overview of the expectations of the people of Kano.

"We only did half time and we had some rest and that gave us time to think on how to make Kano a better place. Now we are back in the Government House and in full gear and we have started doing what a government should do," he said.

According to him, Lagos being a key player in the development of the country and the successes it had recorded so far in the areas of infrastructural development, revenue generation as well as security prompted his visit "to see how best we can make the two states to make the country a better place.

"We look forward to see you in Kano to tell you what we did in Kano between 1999 and 2003 and even what happened between 2003 and 2011. Some of the experiences are priceless and can cost a lot and that's why we don't want to waste time reinventing what is already in existence," he expressed.

Responding, Governor Fashola emphasised the need for each state of the federation to develop strategies on building the nation, stressing that, "Nigeria will not develop or prosper by what is done in the Federal Capital Territory alone".

"The development that takes place in each of the 36 states using their local resources, their local talent, diverse resources, models and laboratory centres from different levels of development will aggregate to the common and corporate development of Nigeria. I think that this is the best way that as state managers and state chief executives. We must take control of the destiny and progress of this country by creating viable activity centres of commerce, security and of education in each of the 36 states".

He also noted that the visit was key to both states as they share the challenge of rapid urbanization.

"Its commercial allure is a lot of pressure on government and social services. There are still certain places I think we can develop a synergy on how best to manage this urban challenge that really tasks the limits, endurance and ingenuity of state and city managers", Fashola added.

Am amused at most comments on this Elections. People will be amazed at the voting Pattern in the North come Saturday. Ask urself this Question; Why did the NASS fought tooth and nail to have the NASS election before the Presidential Poll?. The Election results reflect the wishes of the people for now, unless in the SE and SS where MASSIVE Rigging took place.

“I am a committed – very –committed-Pro Buhari. Dyed in the wool pro Buhari. I have no regrets and apologies. My unswerving, unflagging support is not based on sentiment or any patronage expectation what so ever (I think I don’t need it). Like all mortals, he is not perfect. Trite. But within the reality of mortal perfection, General Muhammadu Buhari easily stands out a refreshing beacon of an exemplary leader in Probity, Integrity, Focus, Visionary, Disciplined, Principled, Courageous, Humble, Honest in leadership by example not sermons. These are very, very rare qualities in contemporary Nigerian leadership. (May be even for all time)”. Tam David West Speaking at the launch of his Book in 2010, Titled; "The Sixteen Sins Of Mohammadu Buhari".. You may wish to get a copy and read through.

table]Are you kidding or u just wanna have fun ? what dayokanu wrote about Buhari is it new or old ? is it not what he supposedly did in the past that we do not know, Now i exposed the evils he did in the past and you dont want to hear about that any more.

Grow up boy, this is internet age , people are no longer foolish as in the past. Buhari and his campaign team paid you guys to come online to advertise about him with all kinds of colored attributes and you think all of us here will be so foolish to accept all your crabs of Nonsense.

Buhari a jihadist and religious bigot and extremist for president indeed
[/
@ poster,
Let me ask you; Were those people in America paid to Support Obama?, The people in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya, were they paid to revolt against the govt there?. Grow up and get this into your thick skull; An idea which time has come cannot be stopped.
75% of the 2011 budget is going to be spent on recurrent Expenditure and the likes. Only 25% will be spent on Capital project, out of these, 10% will surely go into settling one Govt official or the other. Tell me how you are going to have electricity and good roads?. South Africa is building a 5,000MW power plant with just $3B. PDP has spent close to $20B on power plant in 8yrs, we only has 3500MW.

Nigeria's biggest problem is CORRUPTION. The only candidate that has the courage and conviction to stop it forever is BUHARI. This APRIL, lets do the right thing. This APRIL, lets vote for BUHARI.
Politics / Re: What We Did Not Know About Buhari by Jovann: 8:34pm On Feb 22, 2011
Buhari is the only Former Head of State With no Foreign bank Account or Homes in Foreign countries. He has no property in Abuja. He is not provincial in outlook and thought like many of his counterpart. Do you know that Gen Buhari personal Driver for ten years now is a Christain?. Nigerians, lets open our eyes now and do the right thing for the first time casting away ethnic and religious sentiments. Jonathan has good intention but totally incapacitated by his corrupt ridden party PDP. Am a christain and from ondo State but will gladly vote for Buhari come April. This is about the last chance we have to turn things around for our Country. Lets do it. Its possible.
NIGERIA IS THE ONLY COUNTRY WE HAVE, LET US STAY HERE AND SALVAGE IT TOGETHER.
Gen Buhari, 1983.

Politics / Re: Patience Jonathan Unable To Read Own Speech by Jovann: 2:56am On Jan 28, 2011
I have seen Mrs Jonathan several time "reading" speeches and i must say the sight its quite embarrassing. She read like pupil in the 1ST grade, who are just learning to read and write. Are we sure she knows how to write too. When they shows her "reading" these so called speeches, you will noticed that those people standing close to her, and indeed the people in the audience were controlling themselves with great difficulty from bursting into laughter. This is not about politic, people that are close to her should be able to tell her the truth.

Dear Seun,
I will like to thank you so very much for creating this forum. I have been following nairalands for close to 4 yrs. I got to know this site through google search engine, and ever since i have been a passive observer. Most recently however, i decided to register since i believe this site is an good avenue to interact with fellow Nigerians at politics, business, and social level. I made 2 post three days ago, one at the Auto section about honda cars for sale and the other in the business section seeking for vendors of LPFO(Black oil). in these two instances i made sure i follow the stipulated conditions. but suprisingly, the Mod yanked off my posting almost immediately; whereas i could still find post of almost one year been displayed. I will like to ask if ther is any criteria in admitting posts of newly registered person?, Are some people been given consideration over others?. i know you cant satisfy everybody, but do try to moderate the moderators. I have try to reach you privately to air my view, but there was no link.
Thank so much for your labor of love.

Politics / Eagles Square Blues by Jovann: 7:18am On Jan 14, 2011
I started to follow the proceeding from the NTA some minutes after six. I noticed that there was only one entry point where delegates were been screened with metal detectors as they entered into the venue. Most of the delegates look excited and upbeat(Who wouldn't after been splashed with tons of Naira Dollars.). It seems each state adopt a particular uniform clothing for their delegates, i strongly suspected this could be a way of monitoring the delegates, thereby controlling/curtailing/checkmating their movement and intention around the venue.
The square is now gradually filled with delegates. Food packs were been passed around and i thought i saw cans of beer been sipped too. The camera zoom on to the comical looking Oyo state Guv, Alao Akala eating from the disposable food pack. Dignitaries/ministers etc jostle for attention and interview with the television anchors.
The stage was now set. The MC, Bisi Olatilo called on a certain PDP exco member to welcome delegates. This Exco took his time to acknowledge the order of protocol, but i noted that he did not mention the PDP chairman but the Deputy Chairman. Could it be that the Court injunction prevented him from coming to the venue?. I thought in my mind. But more drama were to follow. The Deputy Chairman was now invited to speak. As he was still acknowledging the order of protocol, his speech was rudely disrupted, and the national chairman was abruptly ushered into the stage to make his speech.
It was the turn of the contestants to address the convention. Now Mrs Sarah Jubril dressed like a clown in an oversize traditional attires was ushered to the stage, if i have reservation on her dressing i thought she would prove me wrong with her speech, but with all due respect, the speech was poor, incoherent, and uncoordinated.
Next was the former VP, Atiku Abubakar, he started to read slowly from a prepared voluminous speech note. As he read, he made reference to zoning and the need to respect/honor agreement, and his voice suddenly got agitated,.He made subtle threat of anarchy and mass action if the right thing was not done. Infact he stop short of calling the President names. In the end he never told the delegates what he is going to do if elected.
Then there was an interlude. Apparently, the PDP exco realizing that some aggrieved party members could make issue of the presence of the Chairman , who is under court injunction, to press for the cancellation of the convention or the illegality of the supposed winner, announced that the national chairman , being a respecter of court order, has delegated his function to the Deputy, the motion was moved and seconded.

And the "show" continues. The president was ushered to the stage with thunderous ovation. He made spirited attempt to speak off the cuff, but the speech was uninspiring , and not presidential.
At some point the Mc announced that a bag, containing a laptop belonging to a foreign journalist is missing stolen.
It was now time for delegates to cast their votes, i noticed immediately that each delegates were being teleguided/policed on who to vote.
After some minutes past Ten , the MC announced that voting has been concluded and the next stage was counting of votes.
At this stage, i decided i had enough. I knew what was to follow,
Jonathan, Jonathan, Jonathan, , Jonathan, , Atiku, , Jonathan, , Jonathan,, Jonathan,, Atiku,, Jonathan, , , Jonathan,,
