Politics / Re: Nigerian Airforce Drone Strike Shatters Boko Haram Tank (video) by JustSucre: 7:45am On Feb 10, 2015
That to me is not a drone and if you take a closer look, that was a car and not an armoured tank.
Someone is trying to play on the ignorance of people on this forum.

The drone does not work like a gun where you point and shoot instantly like automatic gun, the drone is mostly used on stationary targets not moving targets because you have to obtain command, then you target and shoot. It works more like a missile not like this point and shoot this person is trying to show.

CABINET IN NIGERIA INSTALLED WITH A WARNING

By CLIFFORD D. MAY

Published: January 19, 1984

LAGOS, Nigeria, Jan. 18— Nigeria's new leader, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Buhari, swore in the members of his Cabinet today, warning them that the ruling Supreme Military Council ''will keep a keen and watchful eye on your performance, your style of life and general public conduct while in office.''

He said the new administration, which came to power after the overthrow of the civilian Government of President Shehu Shagari on Dec. 31, ''will not tolerate fraud, indiscipline, corruption, squandermania, misuse and abuse of public office for self or group aggrandizement and other vices which characterize the civilian administration of the past four years.''

Of the 18 ministers named, only 7 are career military men. The proportion surprised some Western diplomats here but essentially accorded with statements by Mr. Buhari in an interview on Tuesday in which he said ''only a small number'' of military officers would be named to top political posts.

Apparently responding to criticism in the Nigerian press over the pace of decision-making under the new military regime, Mr. Buhari said that ''the appointment of ministers has taken us some time because we had to undertake a deep search for competent Nigerians of proven integrity, a high sense of discipline, public probity and transparent honesty.'' According to some Nigerian and Western sources, several candidates for portfolios were reluctant to accept appointment until the stability and direction of the new Government became apparent.

A senior Western diplomatic source said most of the ministers named today ''are not particularly well known.'' Other sources added that they perceived no particular ideological bent among them. A diplomat said many appeared to be ''lesser lights with provincial rather than federal experience.''

Named to the key position of Minister of Finance was Dr. Onaolapo Soleye, who said that he had most recently been teaching industrial sociology at the University of Ibadan and that he had served in an earlier military government as a commissioner of industries and in the Ministry of Finance.

Dr. Soleye declined to comment on substantive policy matters, saying he had not had time to study the situation.

The new Minister of Petroleum and Energy is Prof. Tam David-West, a biologist by training and a former commissioner of education in Rivers State.

Asked about his prior experience in the oil industry, he said he was ''well versed in the issues.'' He, too, declined to discuss policies or plans.

A leading Nigerian businessman who has known Professor David-West said: ''He was probably picked because he is tough and something of a disciplinarian. A headmaster type, not easy to get along with.''

The new Minister of External Affairs is Dr. Ibrahim Gambari, who served most recently as director general of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, having been appointed by former President Shagari. Dr. Gambari, the 40-year-old son of an emir, received a Ph.D. in international relations from Columbia University in New York in 1974. The swearing-in ceremony took place in a wood-paneled conference room in a military compound in the Lagos suburb of Ikoyi.

Each appointee read an ''oath of allegiance'' followed by an ''oath of office.'' A section of the oath of office pledged that ''I will not allow my personal interests to influence my official conduct or my official decisions.''

Addressing the ministers after the ceremony, General Buhari said each would be expected to declare his assets within six weeks and to complete by the end of April a ''critical review'' of all projects and programs under way within their ministries.

He said the new administration must ''curb the monstrous effects of a grossly mismanaged economy, galloping inflation and insure that food and other essential commodities are readily available at the easy reach of the ordinary citizen.''
Religion / Re: Uncomfortable Questions For Tithe Preachers by JustSucre: 5:00pm On May 18, 2012
Why all these noise about paying tithes or not paying tithes. Its a personal belief and can never be enforced on anyone.....what amazes me most is all the noise being made by non tithe payers. You people talk as if the tithe payers are idiots or dumb or foolish or are being brainwashed...they are not!!!!I bet some of your parents, family members etc do pay this tithe out of their own volition....are they stupid and brainwashed too?

You know, most times people do come here and say lots of things without thinking very well and these things have a way of coming back to haunt them. The things you say you dont do,yet your family members, even your parents do it.Yet you come here and run your mouth as if you all know best.I am sorry to say majority of you people are hypocrites and you mislead lots of people with whatever it is that's flowing out of your mouths.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but what we all need to learn is not to make a mess or castigate other peoples opinion especially when it doesn't suit us.
You dont like it,you cant accept it then move on and stick to what you believe in.

As for me,i am a tithe payer....as long as its written in the bible to do so,that will i do (the bible is living, living word of God,its still alive.

E.g A colleague of mine was once running her mouth, castigating MFM is this and that...and unfortunately for her,her husband just bought a car for her and guess where the husband took the car to for blessings....MFM.Yet she was running her mouth.

You are all entitled to ur beliefs but please do not castigate other peoples beliefs cause you dont know what, who and when you can be saved or helped when you are down and out.

Politics / Re: Ahmad Sani Yerima Disgraces Nigeria -BBC Report (example child bride pic posted) by JustSucre: 9:11am On May 06, 2010
. embarassed, l am actually disgusted and demoralized by this issue of a 49 year old man marrying a 13 years old girl, BUt thank God yerima did this in the open because, things like this l know(confirmed) happens in the north very well.(please dont shoot me yet), usually to the kids of the poor masses. They have no say at all, recently l visited a former colleague of mine in my former office (southeren part of the country)and the chief security guard(+ or - 55years old hausa man) greeted me and later on told me that he wants me to meet someone, yep no wahala, and he showed me this 14 year old girl ; thinking she is his daughter,l commended him that this girl looks like him too much, l said hello to the girl(who has fear written all over her face) and went to see my colleague.

But something just pushed me to ask my collegue who that girl is, and he confirmed to me, that the girl is his wife , christ, unknowingly to me tears started coming out of my eyes.He doesnt allow the girl to step out of the gate house at all and there are marks on her arms(was later on told the girl had lots of bruises on her body when he brought her, apparently the girl was forced on the man against her wishes.).

Things like this happens in the north and has been happening for along time and will continue to happen, unless the women activists/human rights group goes to enlighten these people up there about the evils of marrying underaged girls.

But since its supported by islamic rule of law(as yerima said), l dont know what else to say, cry cry.but as a christian my bible tells me to give to ceaser what belongs to ceaser, obey the government-rule of law.

Romance / Re: Virgins' Club! by JustSucre: 5:23pm On Apr 27, 2010
, l said that cos of the mentallity some guys have that virgins are inexperienced and boring and so cant marry them, but l find it difficult ot believe that a guy can meet a virgin and wouldnt want to marry her because shes a virgin.
Romance / Re: Virgins' Club! by JustSucre: 9:23am On Apr 27, 2010
, wao, so does being a virgin mean you shouldnt be aware of whats going on in the world, theres nothing bad in being a virgin and reading books about how to be a good mother and wife in all aspects, Virgins are not meant to be boring! wink
Romance / Re: Virgins' Club! by JustSucre: 2:30pm On Apr 26, 2010
, Early in life l learnt being a virgin till after marriage is a good thing and more so,the spiritual implication is much more rewarding in that you obeyed God in that aspect.;putting ur selfish desires aside, @ 30 , am still a virgin and very proud of it anytime l remember the lord jesus christ passed through that gate.l so much believe in that my kids will be Gods own kids, obeying God will for their lives, even before they enter this world.

This is my belief and my opinion!, this doesnt mean my heart has not been broken before, because of that, it has , but as one door closes , God always open a better door.

wink
Romance / Re: Why Is It Difficult To Get A Virgin As A Wife? by JustSucre: 1:26pm On Apr 20, 2010
, i don`t think its difficult to get a virgin as a wife, you just have to pray sincerely to God about it, l mean if thats what you want, and l guess they are still out there, most times play hard to get, and majority of our guy today do not like stress so they will rather go for the easy to get ones.

Just pray about it, they re still out there!
