As i've always said Davidlyan dissappears when challenged. He is a bigot in its purest form. One who understands Nigeria from a myopic standpoint is now attempting to take on world matters.

Politics / Re: Yar'adua's Cabinet: Husband Replaces Wife by Kazaure: 5:05am On Jul 06, 2007
Before u get fired up over a non issue, Nenadi Usman is not married to Dr.Shamsudeen Usman. It is not investigative journalism, it is inventive journalism. There is absolutely no truth to the matter. Its shocking the length to which these propagandist newspaper journalists will go to churn out reports on a daily basis. Usman is a fairly common name in the North, just because they share the same last name doesn't mean they r married. I personally know Dr. Shamsu and I reiterate he is not married to Nenadi!
Politics / Re: Northern Ambassador Tells Host Country That Nigerian Criminals Are Southerners by Kazaure: 8:10am On Jul 04, 2007
@davidlyan

I am shocked that when a topic that points the finger at southerners is presented, ethnic jingoist like davidlyan stay mute. Haba davidlyan with all your blogging and "surutu" ya na ji ka yi shuru ne?

It was an improper statement by the ambassador. Insensitive also but It is true that most crimes that are publicized involve the name of a southerner unfortunately. Yet when I travel and carry the Nigerian passport nobody checks to see that I am from Kano or Katsina they see the Naija label. We must continue to speak against 419'ers and thieves that give us all a bad name southern or not.

I also think that the argument that southerners are forced to 419 or other illicit activities internationally because northerners have looted the country is absolutely ludicrous. I know for a fact that there are southerners in London and the US from privileged families (that arguably also looted) that still do credit card fraud and 419. It should be an issue the southern society should confront head on to understand why youths embark on these sorts of activities regardless of status.

@Bankole01

you're gravely misinformed. Northerners don't come to do menial tasks, don't make this an issue of competing in American society

My mother and father are Harvard Alum

and I work for a fortune 500 company in the US

We are from the Heart of the City, Kano fam who want it?

El Rufai is a Harvard Graduate and go find out about what Isa Odidi is doing in Canada

Do not begin to make this an intellectual argument you can be crushed, tsk, idiot

@ Danmasani holla at the kid whats good for your side?

Yar Adua , its the new thing, Allah taimaka!

Politics / Re: Yar'Adua: President In Waiting? by Kazaure: 12:39am On Dec 25, 2006
hhhhmmmm,a northern president.may God have mercy on nigeria.cause its really scary having a muslim president,no one can tell.Thoniaslim

Were did you go to school. Religious ethnocentric bigotry are the beginning of this nations problems. So what if YarAdua is a muslim.The founding fathers of this nation were muslim and christian and they discharged their duties with humility and responsibility. Nuhu Ribadu is a muslim and El-Rufai is a muslim. With views like that I fear the type of future we have in the country with you teaching your kids nonsense like that. Shame on you. Nigeria is Nigeria regardless of religious views, we should have country in mid first and vote for those that also do.

Merry Christmas.

Politics / Re: Press Release: Gov. Donald Duke Withdraws From The Presidential Race by Kazaure: 11:36pm On Dec 24, 2006
The Presidency was not zoned as some of you have erroneously mentioned. Rochas Okorocha still ran, and he is not a northerner. He ended up coming second. Duke realized that he would not win as the party bigwigs decided to support Yar Adua. Unfortunately Duke played like a sore loser and decided to remove his hat from the VP running, and went publicly to claim the presidency has been zoned. From all I've heard Duke is a good candidate but his immaturity surely proves he had negatives. Wearing your emotions on your sleeves is a political misnomer. He should have made nice, gotten the vice presidency, and in the event Yar Adua's term is up he pushes for his campaign once more, all in the process keeping himself in the limelight political stratosphere. Now he will graduate into life after "governer", and who knows how political trends will be after next dispensation (whomever wins, Yar Adua, Buhari etc.).

I am so happy I haven't seen that many bigoted ethnocentric remarks on this topic. We are getting better in Narialand. We should tone our responses in moderation as Nigerians and not as Southerners or Northerners. Let peace and Understanding reign. Merry Christmas to my Chrisitian Brothers/Sisters, and Eid Mubarak to the Muslim Brothers and Sisters. Happy New Year to All!

@ Mariory

You misunderstand me. I am not standing with the individual/s that are against third term, but with the principle behind it. Are you telling me that because someone has an alterior motive behind his actions, that if they are right we shouldn't say so. It is irresponsible, ungrateful and down right disrespectful for Obasanjo to treat the Nigerian people like we have no sense. I could care less who is the president as long as nigerians are given the right to choose who they want, without imposition. Obasanjo, Mantu and cohorts rigged the so called constitutional amendments to include a third term. In all honesty what does an exercise to reform a flawed consitution have to do with injecting new elements into it(such as tenure extension). The whole country is at a standstill. Elected officials are polarized regarding this issue, at the detriment of their elected duties. They are more concerned with this issue and their future's than concluding their programs and project for the benefit of the nigerian people. KAI! Allah ya sawake!

@ Danmasani

Na ganka Danuwana.

Nigerians don't know whats good for them, after the extreme suffering and mismanagement IBB brougt about to this nation in his 8 year escapade to even mention his name in the same sentence as president is blasphemous. May God guide the wayward(Amin). Obj dances with the devil and then calls on God. God loves not the hypocrite. We must stand with those against third term, not because we love them, not because we want them to be president, but because that is the right thing to do, point blank! Just analyze the shady nature in which the third term issue was introduced into the constitutional amendment schedule (De ja vu from the Abacha Period), Baba shege, careful oh, you may be the Shege of Nigeria when all is said and done. Take time, it is for the wise to heed.

I don't understand why in a political dispensation where freedom of speech is supposed to be cherished and upheld, do we criticize the Veepee(atiku) and call him a traitor for speaking against the third term ambitions of OBJ. Those of you who are pushing for the tenure extension are what then? Traitors to the constitution maybe, traitors to peace and prosperity in Nigeria maybe? We all know that what OBJ is doing is highly irresponsible and unfitting for a leader of his stature. He is deliberately overheating the polity and causing great uncertainty and unrest in the nation due to his mum attitude on this issue. All the Foreign Direct Investment to Nigeria will cease because of the unrest caused by this issue. He will for his own selfish reasons unravel the work his administration has done. For God's sake OBJ if you want a third term be a man and come out and say it, if you don't do likewise, it will give all of us some respite. At least then we shall know what the options are.
