European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Between Manchester United And Chelsea, Who Had A Better Season? by kcjazz(m): 1:22pm On May 21, 2013
Winning the europa is like my son failing his class and been demoted to a lower class and then he takes first position.
It is good for his spirrit but bad for my pocket. Man utd had a better season and financially it pays more to win the league than the europa.

Family / Re: When Is The Right Time To Employ A Maid/house-help? by kcjazz(m): 3:40pm On May 15, 2013
The first year of marriage is crucial. You can make or mar ur union by your actions. No housemaid. No inlaws. Just the two of you rediscovering urselfs.
Buy appliances
share the work
hire a washman or woman. Dryclean delicate favorites.
Live close to your office or find a middle ground with your husband. If you work in Ajah and live in Iyana Ipaja you will age badly.
With good planning like cooking once a week. Life gets simpler. Avoid househelps now some runsgirls are into this stuff plus if househelp is under 18 it is child abuse.

Politics / Re: What Is Your Definition Of Development? by kcjazz(m): 10:26pm On May 13, 2013
I don't believe that building physical stuff like roads or houses etc are misplaced priorities especially if we can base such structures on facts or at least statistics. The problem is most decisions on when and what to build are based on sentiments rather than statistics/planning.

When a Governor builds a road to his village that produces nothing and neglects the other village that produces commercial yams that could feed a nation due to voting records. How can that be development?

Having the tallest building in the nation could be used to brand a state but branding a state involves a lot of things that one building cannot answer. All comes down to planning.
How many states can read the migration trends and understand their population 10 years from now?

Family / Re: Open Communication In Marriage, A Plus Or Minus? by kcjazz(m): 9:37pm On May 12, 2013
If Abraham had open communication with his wife, I doubt he would have succeeded in obeying God to sacrifice his son Isaac. Like most things in life open communication is good BUT we need balance and wisdom to know when to say stuff. Timing is important.

Do I tell my wife that the money I just withdrew from the bank account is for her birthday surprise gift?
I don't need my wife to tell me every detail that happens and I don't need her to wait for me to make most decisions, the key is to trust your partner to do what is right always using good judgement.
Religion / Re: Should A Pastor Be Paid A Regular Month Salary? by kcjazz(m): 12:10pm On May 03, 2013
Paying Pastors depends on the financial health of the church. If the church is financially healthy (meaning: pay all their bills as at when due) then YES he should be paid. God wants us to use our common sense as well. You made mention of Jesus paying tax through the fish, how do you expect the Pastors child to go to the University? Get it from the whale tongue The pursuit of money is the real pressure for the pastor. Hence if the church doesn't want to pay they should set up scholarships for Pastors children, pay his taxes, feed him, pay for his trainings, transport, suit grin etc

At the end of the day, if the Pastor has other options like writing a best selling book then he can say "No I don't need the pay" in order to help him focus. Rick Warren after his best selling Purpose Driven Life book returned all the salaries from the first day and today does not receive a penny from his church. At least he has an option. The key is to do the work without life's worries.
Education / Re: Nigeria To Create Six ‘mega Universities’ by kcjazz(m): 10:27am On Apr 26, 2013
If the current universities are not running at full capacity due to funding and personnel issues why go Mega, that's like buying a bus to replace a car after having a first child. Its amazing that people get paid to bring up stuff like these.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Is Lagos The Preferred City For Job Seekers? by kcjazz(m): 11:59am On Apr 22, 2013
Lagos has evolved into a cosmopolitan city. No other place in Nigeria are people from different cultures/tribes/race accepted more than in Lagos. It is not even about the money anymore, Lagos is a tolerant place.

Education / Re: Good English: A Sign Of Education & Intelligence? by kcjazz(m): 10:57pm On Apr 07, 2013
Speaking above average English gives a cue of intelligence and that opens doors. If one can take the time to master any foreign language it shows discipline and intelligence. In our everyday life even in Nigeria the driver, gardener, conductor that speaks good English don't stay long doing that people reward them with better opportunities. You got to learn to express yourself in the language most of the world understand.
Religion / Re: Do Names Actually Have Effect On One's Life? by kcjazz(m): 11:51am On Mar 20, 2013
Names have effect IF YOU WANT THEM. Jabez (meaning pain)never changed his name but when he prayed God enlarged his territory.

However don't name your child SATAN or any terrible name, the society frowns at it and it could make you a target spiritually. On the other hand don't name yourself CENTRAL BANK and hope to be rich. You got to work it out.

Names are really the meanings you give to them or the meanings people give to them. Eg. in Nigeria a name like Akuma is used by a few, in Japan it means Satan and the Government bans it. If the Nigerian Akuma goes to Japan he will be in serious trouble lol

I would have called you a bigger fool but you just showed urself. Per NUC rules you cant walk in and say hey am Mr Ignorance I want my own sch. You need an organisation and a board for posterity sake.

And Holy Ghost order owns nada it is our Saviours order and guess who founded it? get ur facts right rufus

Why can't Christians learn to live as one? Why do we like to compare stuff, my church is better than yours nonsense!
In this country a Rev Fr. uses military escorts, owns two universities, one polytechnic, businesses and industries + real estates. Just because he is not on Forbes does not make him a poor man. He is not humble either. Does God care that Mr A rides a train while Mr B flies OR is it about how much they are doing to make humanity better. Let us get our priorities right abeg.

Pope Francis has a lot to do and please don't distract him with this nonsense.

Rossikk:

If all the money and plots of land he received are ''unimportant'' why doesn't he return it all in disgust?

Since he didn't get a ''phone call''?

Afterall there are many in Nigeria who would love a pinch of that ''tiny little thing'' he got from Nigerians.

BUFFOON.

Why should he return money that was given to him while in service to his country? You think if Dangote makes 1 million dollars on a bad market day he would return it in disgust cos he is worth 16 billion? WTH!
Does America pay its soldiers who fight for them? Yes! So why do they still honor them and show so much respect it if is about doing their job?

To you it is a just a phone call and that is the problem because it isn't about a call it is about human decency, respect and care. He is not asking for Nigerians to call him, he is asking for his coach to show his human side and You can't buy that with money, if racist Spartak Russians are doing that then it is a shame to us as Africans.

A player wins golden shoe for Nigeria to help clinch first trophy in 19 years, got injured while playing for Nigeria and people are talking about money? How much was given to them in the first place? 100million from Dangote and you think each person got 50 million? 22 players, coaches, gazillion NFF bosses to share even 500 million amounts to nothing if you can't give a simple call to ask him how he is doing. Where is Keshi's land in Abuja from US 94?

In the same interview, his club that pays him weekly even when he was playing for Nigeria was praised for their support. Spartak pays Emenike even more than what Nigeria would do/will do/had done dollar for dollar.
Ever heard of man management? and you think Maurihno or Fergie are loved by players because of money? Whether you are a policeman, ex soldier or footballer when it comes to life it is the little things that matter and not money. Today it is Emenike, tommorow it will be another and one day it will be you. Karma!

Religion / Re: Some Churches Carry-out Pregnancy Test Before Wedding: Why? by kcjazz(m): 6:07pm On Feb 20, 2013
To my understanding, the marriage is basically one man joined to his wife. The baby makes it a party, creepy if you think about it. tongue But on a more serious note I do not believe churches want to be vindictive with this practice. You forgot that there is also a HIV test as well. The world lacks trust and for an organization that preaches morals then tests are the way to go. If you don't like it try court or traditional marriage.

On the other hand it saves our ladies from evil men who want to see pregnancy before they marry her. Where is the love?

The issue is partly a lack of leadership, lack of structure and ofcourse a lack of commercialization. Infact 1 million is rather too small if Lagos can get a championship winning team. As prescribed here https://www.nairaland.com/701628/commercializing-nigerian-premier-league-like

Yeah, if this is the Philipine cardinal, I really think he is a good guy the church needs. Humble, eats with the poor and has social media presence.

85 is resigning due to old age and you think his successor will be 81. Is either he is a PDP youth leader or Benjamin Burton. Please stop this fantasies. What the church needs is a young 55-70 year old to handle the huge task if faces.

Family / Re: Pro And Cons Of Living Together With Your In-Laws. by kcjazz(m): 1:48pm On Feb 05, 2013
What context? If you live in a mansion, it might not be too bad but one room, two rooms etc.
Context 2 How is your relationship with your inlaws? Good, Bad, Fair, Enemies
Context 3 Reason? Are they sick? Some old folks come to Lagos for treatment at special hospitals?

PROS

If your inlaws are not lazy, they help with kids, you can go on dates without kids.
If you are super olodo tongue they can help with kids homework
If you can't cook, good food for everyone and time to learn if the inlaws are good sha
Building a legacy and a relationship with family it could come in handy in future

CONS
Added cost of living
Depending on the relationship it could be a nightmare
You cant argue with your husband/wife unrestrained. That could be a good or a very bad thing
No privacy. Our society loves secrets due to evil folks, instance if you are building a house in Lagos or planning investment. Your info is out there.
No privacy. Woman can't dress seductively at home
No privacy. Can't walk around naked anymore if you are into that (assuming you have no kids)
Child Sexual predators can be a grandpa, uncle, cousin etc, extra security needed angry
