So despite the security warning nothing was done to prevent this
In a sane country, armed with such intelligence report you would expect our security operatives to take action and ambush the terrorists. In fact, what they should be telling us is so and so number of armed men were apprehended in those locations after they were caught unaware. Why coming to announce to Nigerians where the camps of terrorists are? What should those who live nearby the camps do? Take up arms and fight them or pack their load and runaway? Why give out vital information that will make the terrorists change strategies? I just don't understand our government and security operatives!

Funny thing is a few minutes drive from that same Tunga maji towards Giri area are two police road blocks mounted by corrupt police officers, a few hundred metres apart, steadily collecting bribe from 5 p.m to midnight.

Politics / Re: Jonathan: Electronic Voting Is The Only Way To Credible Elections by kevoh(m): 3:08pm On Sep 10, 2020
I think voting based on blockchain tech linked with BVN, biometric safeguard system (facial recognition and thumbprint) makes more sense. It might not be 100% secure ( nothing is 100% secure in this world anyway ) but it sure beats the useless paper ballot system we have been used to. It will also encourage voter participation. A huge section of Nigerians doesn't vote because of the unnecessary difficulty in obtaining a voters card, security threat at polling units via armed men snatching ballot boxes and the lack of transparency of collation and declaration of results.

It's not only the effect of Hushpuppi. One would expect that weeks after the idiot was arrested that Nigerians would lay low but No. The Nigerian cultists over there started their own cult wars, Nigerians were banned from seeking employment because of this. Now legit Nigerian workers are also affected based on this news.

I'm not in support of rewarding bad behaviour but a significant proportion of that $15000 didn't come from her fans in Nigeria. South African, Ghanaian and Nigerian fans in Diaspora also contributed majorly. It was actually easier for them to contribute on Gofundme using PayPal and credit card than to vote as voting was strictly Nigerian based (MTN, Airtel) So the Gofundme was their like them doing their own quota.

You stopped reading! No, don't do that! Never do that! You need to read the whole information before claiming whether it's wrong or not!

Thanks Sir naptu2 for this educative post. However, it is sad reading some replies on this thread which is quite obvious they never read the main article. It's even worrisome that some are trying to turn the thread into tribal wars. I just don't get you, Nigerians!

Funny thing is the guy hardly eats food. I even think he was once encouraged to be eating based on health issues. And yes, he has won challenges based on skills and talents not luck like the HOH games.

It's fair enough if you don't like him but lying just to discredit him is quite unfair.

Religion / Re: Is A Reverend Father Qualified To Give Advice On Marital Crisis? by kevoh(m): 10:17am On Aug 30, 2020
From the perspective of a married person, 1 million qualified married Reverend Fathers people can not help your marriage if the couple themselves are not willing to settle their differences themselves. If they were willing, they wouldn't need the services of a third party in the first place.

You see these vices called Ego, Pride, Bitterness, laziness, lack of communication and financial issues are the major causes of downfall in marriages.

Some people are bitter humans that they see every innocent actions of their spouse, in-laws and neighbors as reasons to quarrel. They assume every body is their enemy.

Some will let Ego and pride kill them. Humility is never in their books. When one spouse offends the other, just to say "you are sorry' is an herculean task. Some just to accept apology is wahala. Yet will go on to vow for better for worse in church.

He doesn't have to regard it, that's why the courts are there to enact compliance! Any female that feels discriminated against in terms of properties and can afford the legal fees can simply walk to the courts for resolution.

I do not disagree with you neither am I absolving the Discos of being culpable due to their nonsense high estimated billing but there's some truth in what the Discos are saying. A significant proportion of Nigerians do not pay their electricity bills. Many are into illegal connection of light and/or tampering of prepaid meter.

How is it unhygienic?
It is. Unless, you are preparing the drink yourself, you can not confirm with certainty the level of hygiene during the preparation.

You are talking of people that can even afford 100k to buy fabricated machine. I am talking of the woman with no funds who sends her kids to pick up bottles on the ground and waste bins, that they will just simply wash and start selling kunu and zobo to you and people still rush them.

I keep reading here that it will boost production of locally made drinks like zobo, kunu etc. Are you kidding me? angry angry These so called locally made drinks asides their unhygienic method of production are already enjoying huge patronage from Nigerians due to low cost. What is there to boost again? Infact, once you start proper bottled packaging with NAFDAC approval, you will spend N250 to N300 to buy a bottle.

Same noise every year (BBN season) from our Nairaland hypocrites moralists grin grin grin .

Meanwhile, the BBN technical crew, from the camera men, sound engineers to other technicians are cashing out from the show. The sponsors are cashing out. The bloggers, twitter influencers etc are cashing out. Telecoms companies are cashing out. Even your Federal Government will be cashing out from the over 4 to 5 billion Naira revenue DSTV will make in the form of tax. Every Nigerian with an interest in making money from the show is doing just that, and you are here forming Keyboard Warrior and asking what value the show is to the economy. I watched the other crime videos on that Twitter account. The one where the man walking with his six years old daughter was shot broke my heart. My conclusion from those few clips (as have always been) is that you are 70% of the time most likely to get killed in the US than in Nigeria. I wonder how the people I know in the US manage to escape these violence. It's shocking!
Crime / Re: Woodbery Defrauded US Firm Of $15.3 Million Stashed Away In Bitcoin Wallet by kevoh(m): 9:56am On Jul 07, 2020
Those of you saying Bitcoin can not be traced are making me to laugh! You basically have no idea how blockchain tech works! Bitcoin transactions are out there in the public for the average person with basic computer knowledge to access and trace. You pay a fee to miners to confirm your Bitcoin transaction so that everyone can see that a transaction existed. What is not 'easily known' is who has the money that is being moved as the money is attached to wallet addreses instead.

This is why crypto exchanges force you to do KYC. This is also why they limit your withdrawals to a few million naira (Binance I dey eye you), all these are based on anti money laundering laws.

You can try to use mixing services to confuse intending forensic investigators but the problem here is it is difficult to mix huge sums of bitcoins through mixers.

Another major thing that can expose you is your ip address. Bitcoin addreses can be mapped to an ip address. You still think you are anonymous abi? VPN will not save you when these forensic investigators get on your matter!

As for passwords to your wallet, there are devices that can be used to brute force Wood.berry' passwords, the strength of his password will determine how long it will take to gain access. It can range from 1 minute to months! They already have his fingerprints if there's need for that. If he's using a cold storage device like trezor, that one too can be hacked by the FBI with specialized equipment.

If you still think otherwise, google criminals that were apprehended using bitcoin transactions.

The isolated Islamic section on Nairaland religion section and the Islamic text declarations before you post are products of these threats! Religion of peace my foot!

I have seen an instance on reddit where someone posted a picture and claimed to be the one in the picture pouring away his late wife's ashes into a river/stream just to gather sympathy and reddit upvotes/karmas (our equivalent of likes). Only for the real owner i.e the true person in the picture to come out later. Turns out the impostor knew him. How low can one get?

If rape is committed using the threat of a weapon or if the woman is abducted forcefully from her home, then it becomes a case of haraabah (banditry or terrorising the people), which is proven with two witnesses only .
Seriously? Does one need any reason to stop following these religions with their useless archaic traditions? So how do kids two years old and below who were unfortunately raped provide these witnesses? What also happens in cases where the witnesses who are bold to come out are threatened to death and then refuse, should the rape still hold?
