You're highly appreciated. I got the mail of the schedule on Friday.

Moreso, do you mind sharing the experience at their Lagos Embassy as I had the experience of the Abuja last year?
The lagos embassy was pretty cool. My appointment was for 9am but I got ther 6:50 and was attended to. Make sure you have all your original documents as they will be checked by Mr Paulinus. Also dont carry cash, carry your card amd make sure the card is working because i was actually shouted at for bringing cash. Then make sure all your documents are signed.
After we got past all these, the interview was actually cool and short. Make sure you answer all the questions concisely. Dont say too much so that you dont get into trouble. Also dont say you can speak german if you cant because you will be tested on that. And make sure you are able to defend the money in your blocked account

Hey bro,

Can you shed more light on this waiting period? Alot of applicants are here waiting for more than 1 year now. Are you in category A or B? Kindly share with us. I am personally confused.

Thanks

I was in category A

I appreciate you guys for your responses. I will need your clarification on this:

On the appointment booking site, I found this message "Current waiting period: You have to wait for an appointment approximately 4 weeks". Does it mean I will only be able to select from or see available dates for appointments 4 weeks after submitting for a booking reference or 4 weeks before the filled starting date of study on the booking reference form?

The waiting period to get an appointment date is around 4 weeks but I got mine the next day after I applied. You should have gotten yours by now

Hello house. I just got admission some days ago.
School starts- Oct 7th
Enrollment ends- 31/01/2025.
Registration for exams - 5th/6th week of lectures

What are the chances of meeting up?
I am in CAT A.
Thanks.
Rough estimate: If you book your appointment today, you should have your interview in about a month from now say October ending. And if you pass, your visa should come in about 6 weeks so say beginning to middle of December. You actually have a high chance of meeting up before the end of the year.
Goodluck!

So guys, In my B.SC certificate in nigeria I got 4.36 grade out of 5, when uniassist converted it, it says 1.4 grade. Pls do I fall under CAT A or B because are they saying german grade or nigerian grade . I really need clarification on that. And also is it compulsory you must notarized all documents for the germany consulate?
You are in Category B. I was in category A and the first question I was asked is what qualified me to be in category A which was a first class degree in my bsc. 4.36 is a 2.1 not first class
The interviewer collected my certificate to prove that I was in CAT A before she started interviewing me. So unless you have a scholarship to combine with your result, I think you fall under category B

Did they respond to you when you sent this email?
nellystrong7:
Which city is responsible for your application? What is the name of the city that your school is situated? You can search the email of the Ausländerbehörde in which your school is located. I will send you a screenshot here so that you put your request in the right manner.

If it the one in Lagos you can use either POS or cash but I think its better to carry your card because they actually shouted at me for bringing cash
Enjay1998:
Please, what method of payment is used at the consulate? Cash , transfer or both?

Which category did you apply with

If its CAT A, then just cancel and reapply but if it is CAT B, then go to the embassy and explain to them. They may give you another date to come back. I know someone who was in a similar situation that was given another date after 9 months. But its better as opposed to waiting for 24 months for another appointment.

Your uncle can also go to the foreign office in his city and plead with them. That is what my aunt did and she was given an appointment the next day
laivwire:

I'd appreciate if I can get your feedback. My appointment is next monday and I intended to use a sponsorship letter. My host has applied but is yet to get an appointment at the foreign office so I don't have it. He's suggesting I go along with a retinue of documents showing his income, mails and all other documents he's exchanged with the foreign office and explain to the VO

I'm not totally convinced about this because the consulate is not the foreign office and besides, there are many others in the same situation. I also don't want a rejection as this can affect my future applications.

Should I risk it or just pass and apply for another interview date?

E no dey even reach 2 weeks. It’s a week at most. I don’t know about getting the Visa after the interview but you see appointment, it’s 2 weeks at most.
I applied on June 20 through CAT A and got my appointment date the next day. I did my interview on July 16th, so it has been almost 4 weeks now and I haven't heard anything from the embassy. Is there anyone that had their interview recently and have heard from the embassy? If yes, how long did it take.
