@justwise, pls permit me to ask you just a quick question... Pls What measures have you guys taken or are currently taking to revive our page??.. Cos i dont understand this anymore.. I heard the site ''crashed'' but dv2013 thread pages which has way longer posts and some other thread pages are still intact..and our other thread created by obatide,(preparation and settling down in the U.S) thread has totally vanished into thin air or what they call 'OBLIVION'.LOL..pls what really happened to our page and can't it be UNDONE??.. Because i wanted to quote an old post but it was no where to be found ... Your answer will really make me undestand things cos i know you are the only qualified person i can ask that will give me the appropriate answers to my thoughts...(and by the way, u are our noble moderator)so that leaves me with no other options... Thank you in anticipation..

opeone: Hello forumite, is it necessary i obtain state i.d before the driver licence. pls your response is urgently needed. And what is the different between the state I.D and the Driver's licence Thanks.

My answer is NO.. Its not compulsory because the state i.d number is still the same number that will be printed on your driver's licence.. You sholud only get the state I.d if you are not going for driving school ANY SOONER because most jobs requires it before they can hire you, even schools and hospitals ask for it...

State I.d is you Identity card which is used to identify you.., while driver's licence is your identity card with proof that you are now legally approved to drive in the U.S.. Thats the way i understand it.. Hope it helps?

Greeting to you all... I'm happy to hear from you guys and to see that the good work of the thread has not stopped.. Just to add a few info that you guys may need..

1. Pls if you travelling, go to market and get a good, thick jacket that u'll use for your trip especially if you have long stop-overs, and if you are not used to extreme cold like me.. Cos i was almost frozen at morroco and moreover the plane is always cold so if u like urself, better carry one sweet jacket..(i swear,,you will thank me later)

2. It doesnt really matter the bank u are using to pay for ur greencard.. I used Enterprise Bank and it was awesome.. So any bank is good as long as: A. Its mastercard and B. It has been activated for internet banking...

3. When paying ur Greencard fee,the 3-digit number at the back of ur ATM card is ur pin.. Dont even think about using ur normal 4-digits ATM withdrawal pin cos it wont work..

4. At POE i wasnt asked to switch my phone on, my bag wasnt searched at all and i wasnt asked any questions at all... I guess i GOT REALLY LUCKY because i saw the way a lot of people were scruntinized and searched thoroughly, how their foods and valuables were destroyed, how they asked them to switch on their phones and how so many phones and gadjets were destroyed too because they weren't able to turn it on, probably because their batteries died on the way to U.S, so save ur battery, 1 bar wont hurt a fly!

5. According to the newyork 103.5 ktu fm's news i heard that countries that posses the EBOLA disease WILL be barred from entering the U.S until the disease is cured permanently, as a measure to prevent the disease from spreading... The law has NOT yet been pass down or decided yet.. So ur prayers will go a long way for those who aren't yet in the U.S...

I thought it would be nice to say 'hi' after a while now, and i have to confess that i miss you all and that every nerve in my body cant wait to see all of You in the U.S soon smiley... Adeboy,Armba,Chijen, kaydaddy, lakesideforchrist, jehovahfavour, phazika and all the founding members (i cant remember all your names) HOPE you all have not forgotten me sha?? smiley.. For your sake u berra dont forget me because i still have my KOBOKO.

I was privileged enough to go through all the posts I have missed since the past 2 weeks.. and this are what I have to say...
1. I felt like crying to realize that I wasn't amongst the people our great guy obatide appreciated... I was even more sorrowful to find out that I missed obatide's interview scenario... @ obatide, I am so happy for u... I wish u more better things to come because u deserve it... U are u great man just like my doppelganger, kevwe flex said... God that did it for u will do it for me and everybody in this forum...Amen.
2. I also noticed that there was an issue about opening a new page here on NL, but just like somebody said earlier on, I would prefer it to be open after the last person has been interviewed... We need to consider a lot of things like; What of people who are not members but are beneficiaries of this thread,"GUESTS" as NL calls them how will they follow up?.., . I am saying this NOT because am not current yet, rather because, I LOVE THIS THREAD SO MUCH.. LOL.. for now I think sharing of personal contacts and other social media is advisable.. just like kevwe said, THIS IS MY YEAR OF GREATNESS, GREATER AND ABUNDANT GRACE... AS FAR AS GOD IS ALIVE, EVERY MEMBER, OF THIS 2014 THREAD WILL MAKE IT THROUGH INTERVIEW STAGE... CAN I HEAR A AMEN?
3. God blesses us , we were successfully interviewed then we Run, "WHICH KIND PACKAGE BE THAT ONE?"... It's not a good thing that God has bless u, and u don't want to help others, don't u know that God can use because of ur relentless efforts of helping others here to favour u in the states?... Where are u all running to self? Ermm??... I know life after interview can be time consuming because I believe I will get there, .....but u all know that 30 mins per day won't hurt a fly.. we all need to "STICK" TOGETHER LIKE ARADITE ON SOLDIER-ANTS... Helping eachother when needed... Hope am not crossing anybody's boundary?, if yes pls forgive my habit and forgive me for posting this.. am truly sorry..

Boomshakar: Good morning house. I'm sorry for not posting my interview details in all this while. Here are the full details. The C O was a black American beautiful lady.

co: good morning

me: Good morning ma

co: can I take your finger print?

me: yes you can. Then she took my finger print.

co: pls lift up your right hand and take oath that all you're going say here would be the truth.

me: I took the oath.

co: is this only the qualification you have?

me: yes

co: pls sign here

me: she gave me my form to sign

co: what have you being doing since you finish your school?

me: still seeking for admission

co: its over seven years you got this certificate

me: Yes, but in 2009 I went to the bible school

co: do you have any evidence to proof that

me: yes then I brought out the bible school certificate and the photocopy. she checked it and returned it to me.

co: do you have children?

me: no, I'm single

co: what have you been doing for living

me: driving

co: Government, Commercial or Private?

me: Private

Then C O started typing... then brought out two white paper for me and start explaining on how to pay my USCIS Greed card fee and circled one of the address on the other paper showing me where I'm going to pick up my visa same day the following week.

co: congratulations.

me: Thank you.

Glory be to God for His Exceeding Grace! Now i have my visa with me.

seyioreaje: Is my CN high or low,2014AF0000016*? If i sent my package before 15 of december when will my date of interview be?
First of all, I want u to relax... It's not too late Atal..BEFORE U DO ANYTHING, I WANT U TO GO THROUGH ALL THE PREVIOUS POST OF THIS THREAD FROM DAY 1 TILL PRESENT, it will help u understand a lot of things..just download ur forms, fill them carefully, u can ask google how to fill the forms, Google will take u to interesting and helpful sites where people have filled theirs and u can also ask questions here. After fully filling the forms, u can send it with through DHL to the address u see at www.dvselectee.state.gov , I used it to send mine and DHL was cool.. or u can use email as others suggested.. then u can either call kcc or email them to confirm they have received it.. once they have received it, u'll have to wait and keep on checking ur email until u see a notification that ur 2nl has arrived.. if u don't see any notifications pls keep calling them to know ur faith.. once u receive ur 2nd nl, then u have to get ur police cert, and medicals plus ur $330 application fee money.. And to answer ur initial question, YES ur cn is VERY,VERY, VERY LOW and wasting anymore time could be dangerous bro.. u need to send ur forms as quick as possible because u have been long overdue... And before ur second nl arrives I'll advise u to get ur birth certificate or attestation any of which applies to u..and also get ur school results, degree and/or work experience ready.. God will favour u... Hope this helps?

ekwynox: Sorry this is coming very late but it is because of some exigencies.
My visa was approved yesterday 3rd December. My interview time was 10am.
I arrived at the embassy around 9.15am. One of the policemen on duty at the gate almost got me off my foot when I asked the way i should into the embassy. he told me i was already late but i should go and try my luck. On getting to the gate, the attendant there told me that those for 10am appointment are told to wait outside until 9.30am. This gave me a big relief. So before you ask questions, try to ask a reliable source to avoid unnecessary panic. At 9.30am, we were ushered in under tight security one after the other. The attendant collected my appointment letter and tore off the front page, gave back the remaining pages to me. She also gave me a blue card and some papers for payment. Please, try and keep those papers intact. They will ask for it later. From that point, i passed through four security gate, the last one being an automated scanner. Please avoid coming to the embassy with powder, liquids, make-ups, snacks, metal objects and phones because you won't be allowed to take them in and disposing of such may cause you some panic. I dropped my phones and other gadgets at home before coming. At the last door, i was issued a number B429. After some time, my name was called and i was asked to go and make payments before the submission of documents. After that, my documents were submitted and then waited for the interview proper.
the interview came around past eleven or some minutes before twelve.
Before the interview, i saw the CO, a beautiful black lady, scrutinizing my degree certificate, he even called another CO to help him do that, the man immediately confirmed to him that the seal is for authentication. I think that was because my certificate has some seals from the federal ministry of education, abuja, when i intended going to austria for my masters. Not quite long, my number beeped at that window and the interview went thus:
CO: Good morning
Me: Good morning
CO: Are you blah blah?
Me: yes
CO: Do you swear to say the truth
Mes: Yes, yes
CO; ok, sign this form
Me: signed
CO: i want to take your fingerprints
Me: i obliged
CO: have you traveled out of Nigeria before? (I know it was because of the seal on all my certificates from the ministry that made her ask that)
Me: No, i haven't
CO: cool, what is your highest level of education
Me: University degree in blah blah blah
CO: sorry please, started discussing with another CO, after some time, he called the short form of my first name, nonso. at that point, i suspected she is ibo. when did you finish your university education?
Me: 2011
CO: Have you done your NYSC?
Me: yes
CO: where?
Me: blah blah blah
CO: What was your primary assignment?
Me: Teaching
CO: what did you teach?
Me: biology and chemistry
CO: what was the age of your students?
Me: smiles, say between 15 - 18 years, the normal age of ss3 students
CO: good. what are you doing now?
Me: blah blah blah
CO: where?
Me: blah blah blah
CO: Are you married?
Me: No, of course, am single
CO: have you any kid?
Me: smiles, not all
CO: you have satisfied me, you visa has been approved. brought two white papers and started explaining about how to pay USCIS fee and how to pick up visa. I was happy, though i was listening to her but happiness couldn't allow me to hear her well unlike when she was interviewing me.

So, my fellow forumites help me thank God. I equally pray that the God that did it for me will do so for all of you. the VISA is all yours in the mighty name of JESUS! Amen.

Am so happy for you... God that did it for u, will surely do it for me and every member in this thread.. I love u all.....
Darhmee: Hi guys.. so here was how it started.. I did the visa lottery for myself as the principal and my mom as the principal back then. So when my mom won, the only the only thing i have was the confirmation number.. i wasnt sure if i registered my dad and my siblings with her but with faith, we continued the processing. My dad didn't want to go with us because he has businesses he is running here in NIgeria and also, my older brother is over-aged. So, i and my mom decided to do the processing for just the both of us.
However, because of the rareness of our case, people said we will be turned down, they said we will be rejected bla bla but i and mom paid them no listening ears.. That really helped!

So today, our interview was for 7am, we got there 5:45am, and at about 6:15, we were told to line up, we did security checks, people's powder, phones, sharp objects, liquid, charger, containers were disposed..(please do not bring any of these with u to the embassy, its an lot of trouble finding how to dispose them).

So at about 8am, we were inside the hall, my mom paid for the both of us and when it was time for submission of document, the woman in charge told my mom to go out and take another passport photograph because the one she has with her was with a blue background. So my mom went out and the cheapest rate she could find for 6 passport photograph was N2000!! Can u imagine?!.

So she brought the passport and while we were submitting our document, the woman asked why my dad wasnt included in the first submission and my mom said it was because he wasn't interested, the woman shook her head! Right there, i had thought we would be rejected.

So at about 10:15, our number beeped on window 17.. the CO was a beautiful and young black American
She told us to swear, took our fingerprints and then the conversation below ensued
CO: what is ur name ma'am
My Mom: xxxx
CO: Did u fill the lottery form urself
MM: Yes
CO: So why is ur sister here with you:
MM: She is not my sister, she is my daughter ((we both laughed)
CO: OMG.. Im so sorry.. Wow madam.. u look so young and she is gorgeous
MM and I: Thank you, u look beautiful too
CO:. Who is philip and why is he not going with u
MM.. he is my husband and bla bla
CO: what is your highest level of education
MM.. bla bla
So she excused herself for a minute, came back, typed some things into the computer, gave us 2 sheets of paper.. (i was already jumping by then lol). She then said, your visa has been approved, pick up this this this that.. i wasnt listening anymore cheesy

So guys im not gonna lie to you, i and my mom prayed and fasted for days before attending that interview.. we even went to a 7 nights vigil that ended last SUnday.. If not for prayers and God's favour, we wopuld have been denied. Please lets prepare ourselves and pray to the God/gods we believe in.
