we all know he was not qualify to contest but because he is a school candidate everything was swept under the carpet. although he is intelligent and brilliant; the school will always hold him ransom because they have his secret. we should all know that 8 members of the electoral body who are ment to be independent resigned yesterday because of the irregularities that were done. the election was nothing but scam, from opening the portal late to otp problem and bypassing of otp to closing the portal earlier than scheduled. this is the most ridged election in unilorin history, thousand of votes were on ground for the management candidate before the commencement of the election. I am not disputing d fact that the winner is capable but danger looms in unilorin because the president can be impeached at any time and a woman will become the president. my fingers are crossed.

A lot has changed bro. And positively too. The secretary of ASUU in Unilorin now, comrade Alex Power ran for the SUG Presidential post in 2001. The election was marred by gunshots and ballot box snatching.

But we had far more matured and deeply versatile SRC members then... Unforgettable is Aristotle (Nobody really remembers his real names cos it was never used). He was a medical student who could draw inference from the biblbe, quran, shakespear, Mao, Awo, Nkrumah, Nyerere... He schooled lecturer.

And perhaps the finest was Comrade Wasiu Raji... Super-eloquent proponent of a campus socialist movement (Campus elections were driven by philosophy then) but lost the elections when the religious card was played. Muslims used to be barely 20% of the school population back then. He was to return to broker (as a non-elected student rep) a peace meeting between ASUU and the VC in LT1. Now that was a feat that got us all back in school after spending nearly a year on a single semester. It was the beginning of the new Unilorin everyone enjoys today. But he was the president that never was!

Ambode signed a PPP with an entity that is not known anywhere in the world for waste management.

Somebody (in the right circle) appears to have had a brainwave.

We can corner waste management in Lagos, all we have to do is get the State assembly to decree that each house must pay.

Then we float a bond (invest state funds in the name of private individuals & private entities)

Then we seat back and ENJOY the flow of money.

Problem is bond was under subscribed.

Lagos need 1500 compactors (they've just brought in about 50)

One compactor costs in the region of N70m (without import duty).

That's somewhere in the region of N105B

They simply don't have that kind of money (yet)

Which is why they've quietly called back some PSPs

Pure unadulterated Greed...

Meanwhile the compactors belonging to the operators of the old LAWMA-PSP arrangement lie around idle. Ambode has lost it on this. Totally! I daresay it cant even be salvaged. Not with this greed driven dream.
