onatisi: op,i have noone to blame except you for ur predicaments , forget about Nigeria or the state of the nation, i was once like you , i graduated with a degree in quantity surveying , searched and searched for a job , well after waiting for 5 yrs noone told me before i packed my bags and left Nigeria for a west African country with less than 15k in hand , i suffered real real real hard but now my eyes are opened now i know that Nigeria isn't a real world , that is a country most ppl blame everything on the govt and situation and we expect other to have sympathy and mercy on us the real world is a brutal place where you will get no mercy only your skill and God ,outside Nigeria it is ALL ABOUT SKILL FORGET UR CERTIFICATE IT IS ALL ABOUT SKILL, NO ONE WILL PUT YOU INTO AN OFFICE , THERE IS UNEMPLOYMENT EVERYWHERE BUT ONCE YOU ARE SKILLED YOU WILL MAKE IT ANYWHERE YOU ARE , it should be noteworthy for you to know i am also a singer and even once recorded and released an album , anyone telling you to pursue music career with no money is only making fun of you , this is my advise to you , drop this stardom mentality , try to learn mason ,bricklaying work at the construction site you are working give urself 2 months look at what the foreman is doing and let him know you are willing to learn , try to learn and get as many building skills as possible , from plumbing to steel bending or carpentry, then leave Nigeria , you will never see urself until you leave your comfort zone , just like pastor femi Emmanuel once said CHANGE ANYTHING THAT IS NOT WORKING FOR YOU.if Lagos or the location you are isn't paying you leave , i left nig and i am not regretting it ALTHOUGH I SUFFERED REAL REAL HARD DON'T THINK SAY NA EASY OO, over here i at one time was taking food from the refuse bin to eat so don't think you will find it easy but now i am about setting up my biz in Nigeria and here , so stop blaming and take action . just like nike logo "just do it "
. thanks for your time, concern and encouragement. Appreciate

natude1: First and foremost, I want to encourage you to be focus and never allow this present situation to weigh you down. Your mum needs your assistance now than ever.

However, as a fellow engineer with experience, I don't want to believe that a civil engineer should be looking for job with d levels of problems in d country e.g housing shortage, flooding in different part of d country, bad roads etc. I want you to look inward to your problem, because the solution to your problem is simple. I will start by asking d following qtns:

1. What options did you specialise? Is it structural, highway, geotechnical etc? Can you interprete drawings? Can you analyse a structure etc?

2. Which city are u located? Because the perfect city for you right now is where opportunities are located. For example, flood location in several part of d country, major cities like abuja, lagos n other major cities where there is housing shortage. This is d basis of your profession, move closer to opportunities, and stop writing test up and down.

3. What major software can you utilise? E.g autocad, staadpro etc.

4. You can utilise the power of internet to your advantage and market your skills and experience because the world is a global village. So drop ur email address and for opportunity to solve problem, not only encouragement. You don't knw who might be reading your trend.

As an engineer, we are nature builders, drop an engineer in a village and see it transformed into a city. So, are you sure that you are one of us. If Yes, then bubble up for d challenge ahead, you are supposed to be job creator and not otherwise.

Finally, for me to continue with you, I will need your email address.

Pls, can you drop it here.
. I can use AutoCAD and Land Dev. am in Benin presently. my email is talk2klemza@yahoo.com. God bless you my brother. thanks a lot.

semid4lyfe:

The song is by no means wack.

The beat is a fast up-tempo beat, the rhyming lyrics though generic ain't bad and the chorus is very catchy and very "sing-alongable".

I mean, this is the success formula of today's Naija urban street jamz. It kinda reminds me of Chuddy K's "gaga crazy" with it's repetitive sequence.

OP, this song has the potential to be a HIT. You've got something here. Push it as much as you can. . you know the works nah wink
thanks very very much my brother.don't just kno hw to tank u. Ur words my strength

Music/Radio / Should He Keep Searching For A Job Or Foray Into Music. Pls Advice Him by man119: 7:13pm On Nov 03, 2012
I graduated in 2006 with a second class upper and completed my youth service in 2007.Knowing that I came frm a poor backgrd,I started preparing for aptitude tests and interviews during youth service, learnin vital softwares within my financial capacity. Frm 2007 till date,I hv written so many tests and have bein invited 4 several interviews, but at the end of the day, the" man know man" issue crops up (don't want 2 name firms) and those of us that are children of nobody get thrown into the gutters we came frm. The issue tearin me apart right now is my mother,s health. After loosing my dad in the Liberian peace keepin mission (He was a soldier @ 342 field artillery brigade, owerri), she went through a lot of trauma and was diagnosed of a heart problem. The little money I make from daily construction site struggles ( instead of staying idle) is nothing close to wht is needed 4 her surgery. Apart frm looking for daily bread, I write stories and songs to take my mind away frm all I'm going through.

A friend that has always being there for me suggested that I air the song, that it might be the brake though. Considering my situation, all the yrs gone, the humiliation, insults and above all, my mothers health, should I keep applying 4 jobs or go ahead with music? Pls I need ur advice to be strong. I see every one here as my strenght. Your advice means a lot to me right now. Thanks for ur time.
