Hello VO. Please I would like to find out if a mother and daughter can apply for b1/b2 visa together. Will both the mother and daugher be present for the interview. Will they pay seperate visa appointment fees? The mother has been to the UK 4 times In the past 6 years but now wants to visit the US with her daughter on vacation. She is married and has strong home ties but what are the chances of her daughter who doesn't have travel history is single and unmarried in her mid twenties. Thank you. |

Hello House. Please who can recommend a very reliable portfolio manager and stock trading house for someone who isn't vast in knowledge about the NSE? |

You have a point here But do you think it is worth all that money to file those papers? 25omega: The green card is worth no more than $3000 which is the max amount of money you will spend if you get it the proper way. Those who spend $15,000 are those who probably over stayed their visa and they end up spending money on lawyers to file all sorts of papers that helps sometimes. |

LOL @ignoramus. But honestly is the huge price tag running thousands of dollars worth it? I have seen people paying as much as $15,000 just to change their status from non immigrant to Green card and I can't help but wonder if its wise. Royal Roy: |

Hello House. If you were to put a price tag on getting a US green card how much money will it be truly worth? |

Finally gotten to the end of the thread after reading patiently for days. I am glad to be a part of this experience. To all the gurus and contributors in the house, more grease to your elbows and those of you that painstakingly take the time to respond to peoples questions including the ones that have been repeated over and over again. |

I have silently been following this thread and I must commend all contributors because lots of us have learn so much from it. I have a friend in the US about one month who arrived on an F1 visa to study an Mba with a promise from the school to work on campus but unfortunately when he arrived there where no more jobs for him so couldn't afford to enroll but differed till the next semester and sadly he had to spend out of his available funds to settle his accommodation and living expenses. What would you advice this person to do in order to make his stay permanent since that is everyones dream in the US. Serious and honest response needed. Thanks |

Thanks pal...Yes, as a matter of fact i do. I have an undergraduate degree in Agricultural extension and rural sociology and would love to do a STEM major. Unfortunately i didnt do the GRE exam back home and my CGPA is low plus getting a school to apply haven't been easy. Any ideas please? because i am not even keen to complete the Mba programme in AIU atlanta because its a mushroom School. Allohrandy: I hope you resolve your accommodation issue soon. I guess you want to a STEM major, however do you have a science background in your undergraduate. Also If you want to go for MBA program, it will be an advantage to attend a top or Ivy league school for your MBA program unless you already have years of work experience in a financial organization or company. |

Hello house...Been a while i dropped a post here thats because ive been trying to settle down here before classes start Oct 7th and my program me begins plus getting an accommodation here is no beans at all. I have been doing some thinking and hearing imputs from folks who are used to the system and it seems the Post graduate course i put in for isnt as promising as i was hoping for because there is a large glut of american citizens looking for similar jobs and that is Mba. Since programme resumes i was thinking of deferring the semester without paying tuition and work on getting a transfer to another school in another state preferable in a STEM course to resume next year. Please what are my chances? |

Hello Fam...I owe the house my sincere gratitude. Honestly I wouldn't have done this without stumbling upon this thread accidentally few months back because it prepared me gave me exactly what I needed to prepare for my visa interview. I got my F1 visa today at the Lagos embassy at first attempt without any standardized exam and to a school that the whole world criticized Not to go with their I-20. I applied and was admitted to AIU atlanta and school resumes October 7th. Not to say I encourage laziness or advise people not to write standardized exams but the truth is that you have to work your ass out and prepare for your interview, standardized exam or not. When I learn't that not writing an exam would limit my chances I went and did a professional course relating to the course I intended to study. So my candid advise to folks out there is prepare hard, try not to mince words and lastly impression matters because I saw that today. Dress to kill like I did. As a student it is expected that you dress formal. Not necessary with a tie, suit and pants but a long sleeve shirt tucked in and a good jeans isn't a bad idea also. Here are the interview questions. V.O- what are you going to do in the U.S To pursue a masters degree in Mba with specialization in project management. V.O - what will this degree do for you. The potentials of PM in Nigeria are quite enormous and project management skills are lacking in Nigeria..bla bla bla V.0 -Who is sponsoring you - My dad My dad V.O- What does he do I answered. Special thanks for the one and only Big Francis, so much love for you, Oga imperiouxx and BabSharon. I have been a very silent follower of this thread for a few months but I read it all through and learnt all the tricks. I'm out y'all....BTW how do I book the cheapest flight to Atlanta? 1 Like |

Hello house...please which affordable hotel can someone pass the night within the proximity of the Lagos embassy for people coming from afar and how much does it cost. Thanks |

Ehyaa...i feel exactly what you are going through plus i'm not a guru here either but the best advice i would offer you is please don't sound pessimistic. Give it your best short and don't think twice about paying your Sevis. You never know, it just might happen to you. hackeller graduate skol of mgt, devry university (before I started readin comments here) for mba(international business concentration), got my i20 and acceptance letter. I have booked an appointment for my interview but have not paid my sevis yet, but lately am hearing some kind of news about the credibility of the skol and that chances are that one may not get visa cos of the low reputation of the skol with vo's. Pls advice me, I don't want to waste my $200, suld I just forget about the interview and take my time to look for a better school and start the processing all over or still go ahead in faith. Secondly, can the visa application fee still work for another school i20 even up till next year? Thxalot[/quote] |

Thank you for the valuable piece of information but will someone apply to the CC from Nigeria as an international student even after having visa approved with an expensive school i-20. imperiouxx: |
![]() |
Ermmm....Does that mean after you get your visa here in Nigeria you can defer your admission, remain in Nigeria and apply to a CC, get an admission there and their i-20 then go to the previous school and ask for a transfer even without attending classes or paying tuition? If memory serves me right, i thought most schools indicate clearly in their i-20 that you must be present in school not later than the resumption date? I'm confused. imperiouxx: |
