Business / Re: Unbiased Comaparison; Konga Vs Jumia by mashaun(m): 10:01am On Dec 06, 2013
same experience as mine.

they have been claiming interswitch declined since monday.

We exchanged correspondences and they flashed me and when i called back,i was informed my payment was just confirmed this morning and huawei ascend i ordered for is out stock.even if i have issued a cheque,it would have cleared since Tuesday afternoon, because i paid thru my card at 9:50am monday.

I asked them to do a mail to that effect (as evidence incase of inquiries).

I am giving them 24hrs ultimatum to make refund anyway.

LeSaint: Thank you for this thread - in fact I wanted to start one similar on my own, but I haven't seen how to start a thread on Nairaland. Maybe I am not yet qualified.
Anyways, I have no experience with Jumia, but I have dealt with Konga since last Thursday night, before the "Fall Yakata". That night I ordered a lcd tv, and it's now six working days since then, and nothing has happened. Website says "Track your Order", but I dont see anything except "Verified Interswitch". It has been like that since last Friday. Call them, they 'll simply say my order is yet to ship, and can't offer any more info.

I also ordered the Huawei Ascend W1 for N10,500 last Friday. I must have been among the first to order at that price because it remained at that price thru out Monday. On tuesday they posted a N12k price for it. Today Thursday, I got a brief email saying order cancelled, item unavailable!
They 4got to mention the money I already paid for it!

The main areas they fail woefully are; (1) in the inventory management - it should be a simple matter to auto-update stock as orders are placed, so that you dont tell somebody who has paid that you are out of stock. Imagine the resources involved in resolving tens if not hundreds of such situations.

(2). in order processing; they promised delivery within 5 working days. But 5 days will come and go without delivery. Worse still, you dont receive any information, even when you go out of your way to seek it either on the portal, or by calling them up. There are many other subtle ways you get the feeling that these guys can't give you reliable services.

I have had many years experience ordering stuff all over the world, including of recent, China, both personal, commercial and industrial items, so I thought if some Nigerians have mustered the courage and resources to start a mail order business right here, why not give them a try. I guess I 've been too optimistic and too quick to trust our Naija.
I 've read some positive testimonies, but quality has to be systemic, not a few flashes in the pan.

@Mods; I wish you could make a thread of this my post. So many people may be in the same boat.

Family / Re: Who Decides The Name Of A Baby(baby Father Or Grandfather) Muslim Yoruba Culture by mashaun(m): 1:53pm On Nov 27, 2013
Responsibility of giving a name to a child primarily rests with the father in agreement with the mother which might be decided even before the child is born

giving that duty to grandfather is just a tradition of respecting one's parents,it is not compulsory.

gosj:
Japaul will soon leave the car park, may be late in December, plz accumulate more of it if you can! Remember, this Privatization of Nat. Refineries is in the pipeline and that means more push for Japaul. I won't be suprised if Beco also leaves the car park soon!
I warned investors of Oando yesterday coz so many people are in a hurry to dump that stock. Transcorp passengers should not be greedy plz! Selling it will be a big problem bcoz of investors' fears of their debt burden! So if you are buying Transcorp now, just have the long term in mind.

I am interested in this Journey.

Please can you shed more light on Japaul and privitization of refineries that is on the way.

I have some units that i have abandoned at the garage.

I wish to acquire more if there is going to be hope sooner.

Dereformer: Mennnn, I envy this family. This is indeed a noble family. It is not about wealth. It is about determination and focus. I know many wealthier families in Nigeria whose children are vagabonds.

If the Okonjos are moslems their degrees will be in the act of bombing and terrorism. I still remember Abdulmutalab.

I hate Islam with passion.

meaning that you could employ chemical weapon on entire muslims if given the priviledge.

What has the topic got to do with this worst statement i have ever read on nairaland.

you are worse than Shekau then.

Elai147:

Instead of tying up your money on this stock why not join the Transcorp train instead? There may still be some upside potentials in this train.

I already joined Transcorp train before climbing mountain #2, the journey has been smooth so far.

i have bought Oando ticket expecting the train to come thru my broker.

@ Elai & mercilicious : how far with honeyflour,it seems it is cheaper now.
