Nice move by the military.

Just imagine the quantum of allegations this soldier has made against the Nigerian military high command.

Soldiers requiring orders before they engage enemy combatants has truly caused the death of many military personnel and that is an incontrovertible fact

I sometimes wonder why our drones can not loiter around Turji's general area until he shows up with his horde on bikes and then delivering "Armageddon" on those scoundrels.

The Israelis cannot be the only ones versed in the knowledge of precision drone strikes on targets nau!!

Which is best sir?
Used Canadian panel or brand new panels?

Brand new panels from reputable companies are surely better.

With the deluge of low quality Chinese panels in the market, you can't guarantee their efficiency .

New Panels from Renogy, Canadian Solar ,Trina Solar, Jinko Solar, LONGi Solar , JA Solar etc are some of the best in quality and true to their ascribed specifications.

The used panels are not at 100% of their rated factory efficiency however their low cost is the "pull factor" and are surprisingly still better than some low quality Chinese brand new panels.

what model of epever controller do u use... the reason i asked is because you are on 12v and the highest 150v epever controller can only make use of 1250w of pv power and that is the 100a version.... i understand you are using 350w x8 pcs which in my own case translates to either 250w or 200w that is if they are tier 1 panels...... i like keeping tins simple....

Thanks for your question.

I use 6 PCs of 350W
Canadian mono
crystalline solar panels bought as second hand. Their efficiency has certainly dropped considering their age. They have never delivered above 1000W even at the sunniest of seasons.(I have been using them for 6 years now. Their daily average is 960W between 11am and 2pm).

My epever is actually rated 60A at 150V with a generated battery amperage of 45A at 10am, and 50 - 59A at the peak period I specified above.
I sometimes fear I may fry the charge controller one of these days because it gets so hot that I begin to doubt if the heat sink actually works. But hey, this is 6 years and counting!

Most 100A charge controller will take higher wattages than what you quoted above at 12v battery configuration. For a 12v battery configuration, a 100A Felicity mppt charge controller can handle PV wattage of 1375W, and 2750W for a 24v battery assembly.

olaztek:

Well done boss,
Pls, can I connect 3 300watt panel in parallel to a 60A pwm charge controller without Frying the controller.

Yes but it is a waste of wattage as all the energy produced by the 3 panels in parallel is reduced to around 12 - 16 volt maximum and a summation of the current of each individual panel.

I conducted an experiment of connecting 4 Canadian solar panels at 350w each [ all parallel] to a 60W pwm charge controller during the course of this post.

The maximum charging current I ever recorded was 20A.

With an mppt charge controller of same amperage, your current can go as high as 40 - 59A depending on the time of the day.
Charging time is also reduced and you attain float charge even before 2pm daily.

Always ensure that your batteries are fully charged before use.

Ozempic is not FDA-approved for treating weight loss. However, Wegovy, a medication that contains higher amounts of semaglutide than Ozempic, is FDA-approved for chronic weight management in individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 and higher or 27 and higher in individuals with a weight-related health condition

Invariably, it is the other bands (B to E) that have been impacted negatively by the unending power rationing and blackouts as emphasis has been shifted to providing Band A feeders with sufficient power to avoid downgrading and loss of revenue.

This is one of many unintended consequences of the tariff dichotomy that was either not envisaged ab initio or stealthily hidden in plain sight from consumers until it dawned on us that we just had a hair cut in absentia.

you are talking rubbish. I had a setup with one 150kw solar panel 200 amp hour battery and 500 watt inverter and it worked perfectly the trick is to also connect it to main electricity supply so it’s powered by Nepa when there is light

You are confusing the post here.

Firstly, your system is grid charged and not solely charged using solar power.

Secondly,150KW solar panel = 1500W panel as a single panel does not exist as I know it.

Thirdly, let's agree that you meant 150W solar panel. This will have maximum generated current of 8A as Isc (short circuit current) .
Your 200Ah battery requires a charging current of at least 10% of its rating, i.e 20A to be charged effectively and efficiently.

If not for your grid charging, your battery would have been long dead from undercharging.

We don't play TRICKS here

Hello bro. Can you point me in the direction of the MPPT charge controller or post a picture here. Also, what's your submission about buying a 100ah or less battery if one is to use it majorly during the afternoons. I'm looking at getting them in bits for installation later.

A 100Ah battery should be your basic minimum.

Even if you intend using it mostly during the day, it still doesn't negate the fact that the battery must be fully charged each day after use.

I will advocate you get a 30A mppt charger but scalability will be difficult beyond a certain threshold in future.

Science/Technology / Re: I Have 350k, Can I Install A Single Solar Panel For My Appliances? by matify83: 4:34pm On Apr 22
GerogeI:

A 60A charge controller has power capacity of 60Ax12v=720W,
576W is well under the rated capacity, Moreover those 150 w panels, especially used one will average 3-5Aamps, that's 30A for 6 panels. 48A will be peak performance.

Your concern is not genuine. The system is properly sized. The only complaint is that you cannot expand without replacing the charge controller.

Secondly, if am running such a system (which I did for 3 years with 30A PWM controller and 3 x300w panels before upgrade), I will always favour more panels, above MPPT charge controllers. I only replaced my charge controller when my panels exceeded the capacity, then I had genuine reason to invest in a robust 5kw solar hybrid inverter, which I still run for daytime power only.

I give it to you sir.

Never knew the 60A PWM can carry such power on a 12v battery until someone posted its specs for me.

However, lts still difficult simultaneously drawing power from the battery and having it charged using the PWM system unlike with an mppt that can generate a charging current as high as 59A for a similar 60A charger.

The inefficiency of a pwm is responsible for most disgruntled solar energy users in Nigeria.

Thanks for your valid contribution.

60 AMP PWM CC

Thanks for the picture on the power requirement specifications for various battery connection.

Must admit I'm ignorant of the workings of the pwm save for the theory behind it.

I am however curious that a 12v can carry as much as 780W on this PWM charger.

Hope these Chinese guys won't end up burning down someone's property?

Like I alluded in an earlier post, it's the inefficiency of the pwm that stops must home going up in flames.

Very grateful for sharing.
