Are you comparing Birnin Kebbi with Gashua? Do you know BK is in Kebbi state north west while Gashua is in Yobe state north east? Bro I'm from Bauchi north east Nigeria but with all sincerity Gashua is no go area. One single fact that keep coming to my mind is, can I be able to work there even if I got the job? And please before we begin to discredit the YouWiN selection process at this point considering how transparent the it's been, also noting that quality assurance was provided by a reputable organization in UK. We should remember that all of us cannot be winners since the numbers that must be selected was far less than those that applied, not to mention the many 1st & 2nd edition winners that refused to comply with the programme terms by diverting the grant to unprofitable ventures...we all know the story; else there wouldn't have been a presentation/interview in the first place (I guess) and they wouldn't have had to be this strict with this edition. Also this edition was keenly contested and we have to realise it must not have been that easy for the selection panels too.

So, let's be good image makers for the YouWiN programme and continue to pray that it will be continued so that those that were not selected in this edition and other youths who were unable to apply, will have another chance.

Please you should understand that nobody is trying to discredit YouWiN. Infact I have defended YouWiN if you check my previous posts and I still believe YouWiN is the most transparent and open program in recent history this notwithstanding there is subjectivity and human factors in the interview. Someone told me he knows the chairman of his panel and another member of his panel is his friend and classmate. He gist with them and cool down before the interview started. Of course you don't need to ask the outcome as he is successful. This kind of thing is just natural when there is physical contact. But in the YouWiN 1 and 2 Nobody knows you as your name will be removed only the Youwin ID will be used in making your concept. I will forever defend the program as long as it remains transparent. Kudos to GEJ and NOI

I still can't come to terms that I didn't succeed in this YouWiN. Except if the final award is not based on the interview as I did excellently well during my interview to the extent that when a member of panel asked the chairman if he had any question for me in which he said he will only advice me to make good use of the grant as he is satisfied with my presentation. They even told me the guy before me with same second class upper can't defend his business plan to the satisfaction of the panel.
I sacrifice a lot to fail this YouWiN as I missed two aptitude test and two interviews as they clash with my Youwin training and interview. But I take solace on the fact that I asked God to choose the best for me. I can't ask God why. To be sincere with you guys that get the award, it's PAINFUL to fail at this stage and as I speak I don't think I will be able to participate in YouWiN 4 if there's anything like that. Wish you success in your various endeavor. Thank you and God bless this family.

@Sholatech, am not deriding anything here, FG and the Youwin team have done a good job of going through the youwin1, youwin2 and now Youwin3 if what we are used to here in Nigeria is anything to go by. My point was just that a year period to sieve through and give grants is rather long, remember that it will take approximately another one year to fully disburse the funds. I will get you the list of few countries that have done something similar in the past! though am not sure if they gave up to 1200 awardees. I came across it while i was doing some background research on youwin.

Israel and Singapore are examples of countries that did better than what we have. Notwithstanding Youwin is one of the most transparent and open program in recent history. Kudos to Mr President and Madam Ngozi

I don't think it's true. That means it will take them like additional two months to complete the exercise. I believe the result will be out by the end of this month.

Definitely it's 1500 that will be awarded the grant from the 2500 that attended the interview. But one thing I'm not comfortable is the fact that the composition of the panel favour others and some panels are more critical than others.

Sure, you must not have noticed, I think I spotted that; they've got a set of criteria/schemes printed on an A4 paper in front of them, which they were either ticking or assigning marks to, as I was presenting and responding to their questions. I'm guessing its mush be so for every panel/applicant.

The same case with me. They asked me to offer only one service out of the six services I planned to deliver. Is there any one that notice how and where they assess candidates? because I didn't see them my presentation and response to questions.

Nursery / primary and extra lessons but they advise that if I get the grant I should just go for extra classes because I have more passion for it and considering the recent mass failure in WASSCE. Let's just wait and see what God will do.

It was Ok Sha. We spent about 20 minutes arguing that I should rent a place for my school instead of building my own structures. At last I have to agree with them so that we can move on. The experience is the same Sha!

There were 740 to be interviewed up to day 5 in abj (as on the board). So, let some one sum up the three centers.

The 740 is for 4 days just that the page contains about 6 candidates that will be interviewed on the 5th day. about 1100 will be interviewed in Abuja by the end of 6th day.

Done with my interview. Let's just keep praying.

For 3 days they have interviewed 560 candidates in Abuja. Possibly over 1000 will be interviewed by the end of the exercise.

Omaobe: Can financial experts in d house pls explain to me if i sud include in my implementation cost any part of d profit made during d year and used to augement d operating cost?

For example, if my operating cost is initially N3.8m and I later add N5.2m from my profit during d year totalling N10m operating cost and Fixed Cost N4m, sud I say my implementation cost is now N14m (10+4) or N7.8m (3.8+4)?

Your implementation cost should be only your FC and OE. In this case 3.8 and 4 making a total of 7.8.
