them tell u say hit songs must dey complex? where are u guys from?
u dey complain of autotune, no be make goodmusic be the koko?

I must say i used to respect your opinion, but now i'm sorry to say, it's clear that you have no idea about what a good record should even sound like. How can you downplay the importance of lyrics in a song? Okay, they don't have to be complex, but at least, they should make at least small sense. Nigerian music is bringing out so much rubbish these days and when they read posts from people like you, they feel very happy to continue doing it. Wake up bros.

The only real talent in MoHits is Wande Coal. As for the others, if not for Don Jazzy, they will have no careers, cause they're all rubbish.

Nicky Ninaj represents everything wrong with hiphop today. All hype, no substance.

DaGrin final yarns is the best tribute of all of the ones released, including MI's own. At least it's the one me personally is feeling. The words touched me. RIP DaGrin.

RIP Dagrin. I think he just said what boys were thinking generally.

i score the beat 105% and verses 75% over 100!

rapjunkie u said it o, i nor belief , i confess openly k16 is too much this year o ,
and this is just a fcuxkin mixtape, i will surely cop the album when it
comes. am officially a k16 fan starting from today onwards.
where the bleep is this morthefuxkin rapjunkie! who made the southern beat o n school days o?  sick backside .this is indeed a tribute to the south, now i understand what k16
mant when he said everybody cannot sound the same, he is truly unique.!

those are some deep and real lyrics right there.it has the potential to be

the best tribute song to grin baba.
am coming to do a proper review of the entire tribute to the south EP.

My own rating:

Umuaba: Very good beat and storyline. Catchy chorus, 80%
Dagrin tribute: 100%
Get this money: the chorus is in my head and can't come out for that alone, i give it 82%
Oya: All it needs is a Video and it's a summer smash,  90%

You might not agree with my review, but this was a very impressive offering. I can safely say K16 is in his own class, doing his own thing and for me, it's working. Can't wait for the Debut album, lol

http://www.360nobs.com/2010/06/hype-360-k16-listen-to-oya-school-daze-naija-stand-up/

Just listened now. Naija stand up is very good. I haven't heard a record like that out of Nigeria for a long time, if ever. I am definitely a fan of all the guys that rapped on that record. Everybody came correct. They all tried, i don't even know who i like best. I know of unseen, but who is this Big Faz? K16 is really impressing me. I must say i am now anticipating the Mixtape. School Daze is also very good. These Ikuku guys are not joking. Thumbs up.

@mega, wat else do u want mode9 to win, Best Pop artiste ?

A real award that means something, not i dash you. Please explain to me what a lyricist on the roll is?
Music/Radio / Re: 2010 Hiphopworld Awards. The Winners Are… by megatronz: 6:40pm On May 30, 2010
heyo:

i think d awards were ok

I see, so you agree that Sample was the best hiphop single of last year? What about owo ati swager, or Kondo, or the finest or so many other banging records we heard last year? Or you agree that P square, 9ice or 2 face (this one is paining me) don't deserve anything?

Or that Mode 9 should continue getting lyricist on the roll every year? Even, doesn't he have shame. The thing tire me.
Music/Radio / Re: 2010 Hiphopworld Awards. The Winners Are… by megatronz: 6:15pm On May 30, 2010
Honestly, why do they even bother with this, they should have called it The 2010 MoHits/Hiphopworld awards. How can best rap single be Sample? Lyricist on the roll Mode9? What does that even mean? Next rated Skuki, is this some form of a joke. Nonsense

Music/Radio / Re: Sha Featuring K16 - Home Sweet Home by megatronz: 1:57pm On Mar 24, 2010
Saw the original posting on Notjustok. Very good song. K16 comes correct as well. Not sure about the charity thing, but at least their addressing the issue. Most of these artists in Nigeria only seem to want to talk about money, women and champagne. Nice to see some conscious stuffs.
Music/Radio / Re: Under G Video Is Out - Sauce Kid & Don Jazzy by megatronz: 3:27pm On Mar 15, 2010
At least the video has something to do with the topic. Not the greatest video, but it's okay,

K16 can obviously do better than OYA, but that doesn't mean it's not a very good track. The hook is one of it's strongest points. Like which track have you been listening to?

I wonder
Music/Radio / Re: K16 - New track 'Oya' Can Somebody Post The Download Link Please by megatronz: 3:14am On Mar 14, 2010
rapjunkie:

k16 is not a punchline rapper. . . .does he have to be? . . . . .i don't think it can be expected for all rappers to drop punchlines. . . . .if that was the case it would be a bit boring. . . . . wouldn't it?.

However, the good things about punchlines is that it make writers think more creatively but sometimes they overdo it. . . . .  please look at this thread. . . .so many examples of silly writing all in the effort to write a punchline  grin grin

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-239274.0.html

I think hooks are K16's strong point. . . . . . which kain hook u wan make the guy write?

What is your problem? I said it's my best flow and it makes sense, but he doesn't have punchlines like M.I. or IcePrince. I didn't say he was or wasn't a punchline rapper. Just observing. I'm saying i'm a fan. Is that a problem?
Music/Radio / Re: K16 - New track 'Oya' Can Somebody Post The Download Link Please by megatronz: 3:14pm On Mar 13, 2010
Saw this track on NotJustOk. Lets talk about it. I love it. He also has another track Free Me Jor posted on there. My best flow so far this year. Lyrics make sense too, even if they are not too many punchlines. Discuss. Thanks
