Politics / Re: Explosion In Kaduna. 15 Killed by Mkpotu(m): 3:20pm On Dec 07, 2011
@Splashbaby, there is no need for any revolution. Are you that cheap, if you concede to revolution what it means is that the agenda/motive behind the people causing all these mayhem is achieved. They are causing mayhem in order to discredit Jonathan and give impression that Northerners are the rightful people to occupy the position.

Politics / Re: Senate Rejects State Burial For Ojukwu by Mkpotu(m): 10:24am On Dec 02, 2011
What is even a State burial by the way? Can somebody tell me what a State burial is? Is it the way the body of Umaru Yaradua & Abacha were wrapped with Nigerian flag, is that the meaning?

For people like Bluetooth who are always looking for any slightest opportunity to show their hatred for the Igbos, you have completely failed. I remember when Ojukwu was sick, it was Bluetooth and his cronies were carrying rumour that Ojukwu has been abandoned by the Igbos and that nobody cares for him, there is no money this and that to pay for his hospital bills in Uk. As I write this, I know they are not happy the way Ojukwu is accorded all the respect he deserves from every part of the country and the world at large.

I even observed it, Bluetooth has refused to even address Ojukwu's name properly thats why he goes about calling him Oji-uku or whatever, but I must tell you that no Yoruba man dead or alive will receive the kind of respect Ojukwu will receive during his burial.

Check history of u people's greatest man, Awolowo and how he died, his family didn't know he was dead in his house after some days or so, check your Abiola and probably we will be alive when your Obasanjo time will reach and see what happens.

Politics / Re: Professors Ayodele Awojobi And Chinua Achebe: Let's Compare Them by Mkpotu(m): 10:56am On Nov 15, 2011
Anyway, guess since he died in 1984, i would have known, moreso as his policies/achievements do not have direct impact on my life or any other ordinary citizen.

Meanwile, there are lots of people that are named after streets in Lagos, thus its not my duty to go about asking who they are and what they achieved while on earth.

All the same, I wish him & all of us well, but in any reasonable man's right thinking sense, i do not see any need/justification for the comparison. They are not mates in any ramification except for the global title "Prof"
Politics / Re: Professors Ayodele Awojobi And Chinua Achebe: Let's Compare Them by Mkpotu(m): 10:45am On Nov 15, 2011
I don't even know who the Professor Awojobi is, even as a student of UNILAG, though I am not in Engineering Faculty.

Guess there is no need for the comparison as Chinua Achebe is well known and recognized both in the diaspora and locally.

Meanwhile, where is Ayodele Awojobi now?
Romance / Re: My Boss Want Me To Do Him: And Am Not Gay. by Mkpotu(m): 9:55am On Oct 25, 2011
My advice is simple, sit down with your boss probably in a place not an office, an eatery or joint. Feel free tell him why u may not want to indulge in such act, let him know you understand his challenges but that you may not be able to engage in such act.

Don't insult him but try and manage the him, i guess he will respect you and may even stop such act or will channel his energy to another person. Meanwhile, reduce as u dey chop him free money especially as u have discovered the direction he is going to.

Culture / Re: Divorce Rate Among Yoruba Couples & Igbo Couples by Mkpotu(m): 4:35pm On Oct 06, 2011
I think the posters observations are completely right. You remember, he is not saying there are no divorce cases in Igbo land. In terms of beauty too, I believe the observation of the poster.

The reasons why divorce is not rampant in Igboland are:

(1) Somebody made mention of Roman Catholic which has solid root in the east, it is one of the major factors. Catholic church abhors divorce just the same way RCCG has adopted too.

(2) Igbos value marriage thus, that is why it is usually believed that a man should be ripe for marriage before venturing into it. Marriage they believe comes with certain maturity which include; being protective and in control of the marriage, handling womens' exuberance, being able to face the challenges of ups and downs of marriage etc

(3) Igbos believe mainly in one man one wife ideology even in those days, that is why you see a man having 7 or 8 children from his wife. Also in Igboland, a married man who flirts with other women or girls are even usually chastised called to order or even advised by his brothers and sometimes, the wife can take such issues to his friends or kinsmen, who usually call the man to order.

(4) It is also an abomination in Igboland for a married woman to have an affair with another man, thus in some areas it could lead to death or something disastrous, thus in Igboland marriage is seen as a sacred institution.

(5) Igbos also value the root of a child that is why no woman or man will want to have children that doesnt have father or root where they are traceable to and that is why today even in America, you see Igbos from a particular community in the East having town's meeting, thus identifying with one another.

(6) As per beauty too, i think it is not disputable as far as Nigeria is concerned, but note that Fulani women are beautiful (facially though). You may not see other places but mind you beauty is not all about face.

Remember, if you as a person reaches that age, it's a blessing, so better be careful how you talk on some issues. Every time  is not for joke or time to make sarcastic statements.

Even if Ojukwu dies today so be it, after all nobody is meant to be on earth forever or do.

Crime / Re: Anambra Monarch Still Missing 45 Days After Abduction by Mkpotu(m): 1:18pm On Jul 18, 2011
@G-Syntax & Sicily4u, it was good point that it wasn't on a Sunday but they are still correct in the sense that that day was ascension day and Catholics all over the world usually have church service like every other Sunday.

As per the incident, its a pity as I know the pains the family is going through likewise the community. I pray he is still alive and in good health.
Politics / Re: D.Mark Seeks Declaration Of State Of Emergency In Flooded Areas In Lagos by Mkpotu(m): 9:06am On Jul 15, 2011
People should stop exhibiting their ignorance on this thread. David Mark's call for a declaration of state of emergency in flooded areas in Lagos, does not mean the Governor will be removed. A state of emergency in this situation means that an urgent and focused attention should be given to those areas in Lagos by the Federal Government in order to avert similar occurrence.

Just like GEJ announced on assumption of office last year that he is declaring a state of emergency on power sector, though after all said and done not much was achieved.

Politics / Re: Obama, Cameron, Fashola: Are Left -Handed Leaders A Special Breed? by Mkpotu(m): 1:52pm On May 31, 2011
I do not know anything special about them but these three people caught my attention whilst they sign any documents; Namadi Sambo, Fashola and Obama. Why it caught my attention was simply because whilst growing up, I used to know parents discourage their kids from using their left hand. I doubt if there is anything special about those species of people, if any will like to know,

NYSC / Re: List Of Corp Members Killed In Bauchi As Released By Nysc by Mkpotu(m): 6:41pm On May 03, 2011
May the souls of the Corps members and those of other Nigerians that were murdered as an aftermath of the election, rest in peace, AMEN!!!

Meanwhile, if NYSC posting should be based on North and South, what then should be the fate of Benue, Plateau people, because i know that what happened to an average Southerner in the North can as well happen to a Benue indigene in the core North.

A lot of things have been happening in the North especially their hostile attitude to strangers which has always been swept under the carpet. Very notorious amongst them is Bauchi. Bauchi's hostility to strangers has no bounds and why corps members were hit most in Bauchi is simply because, the state is a deserted state in terms of non-indigenes. The blood of innocent citizens that they have shed in Bauchi has no equal and this has been age-long. In fact when Gombe State was carved out from Bauchi, there was mass exodus of people from Bauchi to Gombe because of Gombe's hospitality.

I must mention at this stage that those blood suckers in Bauchi could not have access to some strangers who were fast enough to move to Baracks, thus they descended on corps members. Apart from these corps members, they equally killed people in their small towns that have strangers, eg Azare, where lots of people were killed.

But I must say that I appreciate the way we are going about talking about all these mayhem and killings so that it will be a serious issue that government will look into. If not for the days of digital communication gadgets/equipments like mobile phones, dstv, on-line means of dissemination of information, we would not have known the extent of what these people are doing over there.

I was in Jos, sometime in 2008, when there was a riot, was driving to the office when I received a call from my boss then that I should go back, but do you know how many corp members that were killed in their houses around Bauchi Road area, but everything was swept under the carpet.

One thing we have to know is, going by an average Muslim Northerner's belief, that this life is nothing and that once you die, it has been destined and I know that was why Isah yuguda made the comment and that has been the reason why they have been killing and maiming southerners at the slightest provocation. I must say that successive government of IBB, buhari, etc have been paying lip service to this Muslim Norherner's intolerance, hence the continuous killing of innocent people, but I tell you, if Jonathan can take the bull by the horn and ensure those arrested are duly investigated, prosecuted and sentenced to death, even if it is two or three persons, they may not be highly placed people, i tell you, it must send a SIGNAL TO THEM, IF NOT I TELL BY NEXT YEAR YOU WILL HEAR OF ANOTHER RIOT IN ONE PART OF THE NORTH.

Politics / Re: Kano Is On Fire by Mkpotu(m): 12:50pm On Apr 18, 2011
Anyway, I am not surprise. I do not know how best to describe these Northern Hausas. I was in Kano during the 2007 election and for three (3) - four (4) days we did not leave our houses for work. Offices, banks, shops etc did not open, then it was during the controversy as to whether Mallam Shekarau won the Governorship election.

The Hausaa have been the highest beneficiary of Federal Government treasury. Under Military Regime, they were handing over power like baton to fellow Northerners/Hausas except for God's intervention that made it possible for OBJ to ascend to power because of the death of his boss, Murtala. To a Northerner, it is their birth right to rule Nigeria but I thank God that we Southerners have opened our eyes and we are gradually coming together.

I know they will continue to vandalize property, kill and maim people because GOODLUCK JONATHAN a Southerner had won the election.

Our brothers in the North, Christians in the North etc be watchful and arm yourselves to avoid being taken unaware, those guys are heartless, there is no doubt about. It is the simple truth.

GOODLUCK NIGERIA!!!

Politics / Re: Gen. Buhari Is Very Desperate To Become President. by Mkpotu(m): 3:09pm On Apr 13, 2011
@enyojo, I CAN SEE YOU ARE IN LAGOS. I CHALLENGE  TO SAY HOW MANY CORRUPTION FASHOLA HAS FOUGHT IN LAGOS, YET EVERYBODY IS PRAISING.

THE QUESTION IS, WHY THE PRAISE? THE SIMPLE ANSWER IS BECAUSE OF PROVISION OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND THAT IS WHY FASHOLA TODAY HAS SUCCEEDED AND IS LOVED BY AT LEAST 75% OF LAGOSIANS.

SO, ANY SERIOUS GOVERNMENT HAS MORE TO DO THAN SAYING THEIR COMING INTO POWER IS TO FIGHT CORRUPTION. WE NEED INFRASTRUCTURE AND WE NEED SOMEBODY THAT IS COMPLIANT WITH MODERN TRENDS WHO CAN LISTEN TO PEOPLE. SOMEBODY THAT KNOWS THE RIGHT PERSON TO APPOINT TO MAN A PARTICULAR MINISTRY OR OUTFIT.

BUHARI DOES NOT HAVE ALL THOSE TO HIS ADVANTAGE. MEANWHILE, HIS FIGHT FOR CORRUPTION, IS IT GOING TO BE RETROACTIVE OR , ?
Politics / Re: Gen. Buhari Is Very Desperate To Become President. by Mkpotu(m): 2:51pm On Apr 13, 2011
WE WILL NOT EAT FIGHTING CORRUPTION FOR THE NEXT FOUR (4) YEARS.

CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA DID NOT START TODAY, BUT AN AGE-LONG SYNDROME.

GOVERNMENT NEEDS MORE TO PROVIDE THAN FIGHTING CORRUPTION.
Politics / Re: Gen. Buhari Is Very Desperate To Become President. by Mkpotu(m): 2:32pm On Apr 13, 2011
I AM NOT SAYING JONATHAN IS A SAINT, BUT OUT OF THE CANDIDATES, JONATHAN IS THE BEST.

BUHARI'S TIME HAS PASSED, GONE ARE THE DAYS SOMEBODY WILL COME OUT TO KNEEL PEOPLE DOWN ON THE ROAD IN THE NAME OF FIGHT AGAINST INDISCIPLINE.

I, AS A PERSON, LIKE THE WAY THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WENT THROUGH, WHEREIN PDP LOST IN SOME PLACES GIVING RISE FOR OPPOSITION TO INCREASE. LET ME TELL U, A GOVERNMENT PERFORMS WELL, WHEN U HAVE POSITION AND BELIEVE JONATHAN IS THE KIND OF PERSON THAT WILL LISTEN TO SUPERIOR ARGUMENT WHILE IN POWER.

MIND YOU, OBASANJO'S POWER TOO IS GRADUALLY DWINDLING. I USED TO BE A STRONG ADVOCATE FOR ZONING BUT WHEN PDP AND THE PEOPLE IT CONCERNED DECIDED TO DUMP, THEN WHO AM I.

BUT MY ARGUMENT IS THAT BUHARI'S TIME HAS PASSED AND HE WILL NOT EVEN FIGHT THE CORRUPTION THE WAY YOU THINK. HE IS A SECTIONAL AND IT IS GRADUALLY REVEALING ITSELF.
