Politics / Re: Babangida Will Not Be President - Abiola Family by mue2: 12:54pm On May 16, 2010
chidichris:

why are we leaving the object for shadow?
obasanjo has refused us democracy. the abiolas are in no position to say who will or who will not rule nigeria after all their father was part of our present suffering as contributed by his criminalities.
it is rather unfortunate that most of us here are not even interested in our constitutional rights to vote and be voted for.
the abiolas and their supporters shld tell obasanjo to allow the amendments of the constitution that will allow the senate choose the inec chairman and institutionalize our inec. a well organised election will see nigerians choose their representatives instead of obasanjo handpicking practically everybody for every post and impose them on us.
as long as obasanjo remains the sole decission maker in nigeria, our coming here to argue these issues will remain useless.
like i said, the most undemocratic thing to do will be for the abiolas or the obasanjos to have the responsibilities of selecting and imposing rulers of their choice on us.

Chidichris, with all due respect, you should stop insulting the Abiola family and their late brother's/father's legacy. His brother has said nothing wrong by opposing IBB,he is simply saying what so many Nigerians have been saying since we all heard that the retired Military man had intentions of running for president.Practically everybody is saying that it would be unaceptable and a moral hazard for IBB to run for president,so why should it be any different when the Abiolas say it? In a democracy , every man is free to speak his mind,so why not the Abiolas whose father and brother was the matyr of democracy in Nigeria ?

And stop insisting that Abiola was a thief and "was part of the cause of our present suffering as contributed by his criminalities".What concrete evidence do you have to prove that Abiola is a person of questionable character? a thief? No disrespect, but you have none ! The only "evidence" you have are old rumours  that were created to stigmatize the man. What public office did he ever hold to steal from? We all know about the lack of accountability in the government as government officials are able to steal public funds and are not really answerable or accountable to anyone. But do you really believe that a manager of a multinational firm can get away with embezzling company funds on the scale you claim Abiola did ? Would he not have to answer to the firm's shareholders? His superiors in the company hierarcy in the USA? Would he not have been sent to jail? Please think about it.Let's talk like educated people.

Even with the glorified Obama of the USA, when he was running for president, speculations of him engaging in money laundering arose. But were they true? Such stories are regularly made up to taint the reputation's of public figures.

The only possible truth in all the critisms of Abiola might be his sponsorship of coups in Nigeria. But even this is unproven. There is nothing to prove this.So let's stop making claims and statememts for which we have no evidence.Abacha is a thief,Obj is a thief, ibori is one too etc , there is evidence to this effect. So Pls do not categorise the Late Legend MKO Abiola as one of these people.

For example, if i call you a liar , then it only makes sense for me to provide good evidence to back up my claim.

Thankyou.

I've read through most of your comments on this issue and i must confess that very few of you have made intelligent contributions. Many of you seem to be adamant that the late Chief Abiola was a thief. But before jumping to such conclusions, you should do you research.

What is the source of this popular rumour? is it Fela's ITT song? Well let me be the first to tell you that Fela's stance on Abiola were biased because he and Abiola were in a feud over his work on the Chief's record label and thus were not on good terms. The feud was concerning his royalty payments.

If you are so sure that this man stole money from the government, ask your self another question, unlike OBJ , Ibori and the rest, has there ever been any proper concrete evidence to this effect? Were all his businesss' not financially independent from the government?

Where ever you have a rich man, there's always speculation as to how he made his money, and the issue of fraudalent practices or theft will always come up.It's just like how many say that Adenuga is a thief. These men are not thieves, they are simply manipulative and witty - a characteristic of all rich men.

Now,get the facts right.Abiola made his break at ITT when he was able to get the Military government of Muritala Mohammed to pay a debt the Nigerian government had owed to the company for years. Before Abiola was able to retrieve the payment , the company had made countless unsuccesful bids to get it,hence they were highly impressed with his perseverance and made him the head of the firm's operations in Africa and the middle east.He became the first indigenous Nigerian head of a Multinational company.

With that being said, pls endeavour to stop speaking ill about a man who's philantropic deeds and benevolence were ground breaking. All those saying that IBB saved Nigerians from the wrath of a "Kleptomaniac" have no argument.Your arguements are flawed.

From Nairaland alone , it is clear that Nigeria is a very tribalistic coutry,b'cos it has become clear to me that most of the pple speaking ill of abiola are igbo. Yorubas' would seldom speak ill about MKO Abiola. In yoruba land, he is a legend. As a matter of fact, excluding a relatively few ignorant Nigerians, he is a legend! from Maiduguri to sokoto,to abuja to Enugu to Delta and all the way to Lagos.

I rest my case.

Romance / Re: His Mouth Smells; Should I Tell Him? by mue2: 1:50am On Dec 23, 2007
IF THIS MO IS TRULY OUT OF HIS CONTROL,I WOULD SUGGEST SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN USED FOR CENTURIES.HOOK HIM UP WITH VODKA TO GAGGLE.THE MO IS GUARANTEED TO GO AWAY BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE VODKA SMELL!

ANYWAYS:

This is a very sensitive topic.Personally i couldn't and wouldn't manage a partner with bad breath.I feel that if you dnt have basic hygiene, then i cannot have an intimate relationship with you-because that would be disgusting. And i cannot start trying to strategise (nice) ways to sort the problem out.i don't have time 4 this and i dnt feel that it is my place to tell you-that wud be best done by someone in your family.MO is a major turn off for me and so relations between myself and such a female wudnt even go past the courtship stage. We would definitely never get into a relationship.

I have always believed that MO is as a result of poor oral hygiene ie not brushing properly or even at all.Brushing properly constitutes of brushing the back and front of your upper and lower sets of teeth,as well as their bases (the parts used to crunch) and your tongue (including the back of it).if you do this and use mouth wash afterwards (twice or even once a day) you should be ok.

i have heard that there are medical conditions (to do with the lungs) that cause BB but generally i see this arguement as a lame excuse! if u brush properly,i believe you shud still be ok-at least relatively.

To all those that suggested that mouth wash should be offered as a solution, i personally feel that this is wrong because mouthwash is not meant to be used as a sole means for oral cleanliness. It is meant to be used to aid brushing,as a supplement.Same goes for chewing gum etc. These things are not meant to replace brushing, they are supplements. If used alone, they can only "mask" the problem, and will only offer short term relief!
Romance / Re: Should A Man Know His Wife Or Girlfriend's Past? by mue2: 7:50am On Dec 20, 2007
D-RELOADED THERE WAS NO NEED TO INSULT ME.LET'S TRY TO BE MATURE ABOUT THIS.AFTERALL WE ARE ALL ENTITLED TO OUR OWN OPINIONS.

Anyway, the bottom line here is that it is good to know about your partner's past. This is So you have a better understanding of the person you are dealing with.I think that both parties should be open and honest about their past, and the other should accept them with it-or leave the relationship if they feel it is too much for them to handle.I guess that it is because of the fear of the latter option that alot of females might not want to be completely honest alot of the time.As it can clearly be a turn-off if your past is too "reckless".

I personally wouldn't want a girl who has been known to sleep around in the past. It's just embarassing and as a man there would be no self esteem or pride in going round with such a female when everyone knows that she's a LovePeddler. It's crazy when u find out that a couple of guys you know have slept with your girl. That would be a major problem for me.So it's best for your partner to come clean,so that (as i said before) you can decide whether u can cope wit it!

So for these reasons i would definitely wanna know about a girl's past.

under my criteria,it is only acceptable if a girl has slept wit past boyfriends-and even then i don't expect that there should have been too many of them.for me,at the age of 21,i dont want ne girl that has had more than 3 partners.

Where a girl has bin known to sleep wit guys that she is not in a relationship wit, well we cud play around, but she shudnt expect nething serious to result between us.

IN REPLY TO D-RELOADED WHO SAID :

"I could say the same about a guy. After all a marriage proposal requires a yes from either the man or woman. If the woman says No, there is NO marriage. If it turns out that in YOUER past you're a horrible person who slept with every girl you cam across, caused girls to have several; abortions or stole stuff, that could be just as a dterminant for the girl to say NO to your proposal."

quite frankly, the sexual behaviour and tendencies of men and women are not measured by the same yard stick. As i said earlier, society expects women to be on a higher moral ground.it aint fair but that is just how it is.So you can't say the same about guys.A guys past is not as important as a girl's past.I'm not being biased,it's just the truth. This is how society has made things.

To further prove this point,i have alot of female friends,we talk alot about such issues and they generally don't care about the nature of their guy's past. They don't care about how many girls he has slept with etc All they are concerned about is the present.Guys on the other hand, are naturally interested because they want to make sure that they are not dating a girl with a reckless chracther - a LovePeddler.
Romance / Re: Should A Man Know His Wife Or Girlfriend's Past? by mue2: 3:33am On Dec 19, 2007
To all those that are sayin' that the past should be left in the past and that it aint important etc
i would like to ask one question,

if that is the case, then why is it that alot of girls lie to guys who are chasing them that they are virgins

if the past wasn't important then there wud be no need for such lies!

but personally, i think that u only need to know your girl's past to an extent.
so that u can decide whether she is virtuous enough for you.
if you're lookin' for a virgin, that is virtually impossible these days.
so maybe you should discriminate on the basis of under wot circumstances she has slept with guys in the past.
if she was in a relationship with those men, then i guess that is acceptable.but if not,you might want to reassess your decision.
Also the number of men she has slept with might also be a basis for discrimination-regardless of the circumstances.

the truth is society expects higher moral standards from women so u can't quite use this assessment on men, because it doesn't make sense.
that's why a dude can sleep around and get away wit it, but once a girl does it,she is labeled a LovePeddler.
it aint fare but that's how it is!
Romance / Re: If Your Boyfriend Keeps Many Female Friends by mue2: 12:04am On Dec 18, 2007
i would suggest that u be understanding that he has alot of female friends, and as much as it might be awkward, you should accomodate it.But then again,it really depends on the situation.cos for all we know he might not be sincere wit these "friendships".Guys play these type of games all the time and use reverse-pyshcology to make it look as though they are not up to anything.I know because i do such things myself lol so just analyse the situation and you should be able to judge whether they are truly his friends or not.it's never too difficult to assess this.
