He started saying some words but the language didn't develop. Also selected Intrest, he only reacted ro things and sounds that interested him.
Autism comes in different forms.
Early diagnosis andbsupport can change a story around.
At age 5 he was diagnosed as being mentally hadicaped and was non verbal.
At age 6 to 7 he was talking and diagonsised as above average... However he still need to develop in certain areas.

Too few... sorry I couldn't have any more.

I am left handed.
But I learnt to eat and shake hands with right hand.
Allot of criticism as a child.
But you can learn it after all the second hand isn't meant to be totally redundant.

Motherhood can be overwhelming indeed especially when n you think about the future and also when some other factors are aggravaitng the situation... Like lack of finances or having a special needs child or a child with hyperactivity.
I have 11 children and so I have had to deal with quite a few situations that aggravate.
Despite all the pain, they have filled my life with so much love even though I must admit there are phases of feeling unappreciated

The few tips I can give are
Start early! Start early enough with the rules and discipline!
I start from day one with my rules. Only use a dim light in the night, no singing or standing up to carry the child at night. Just nreastfeeding, changing and back to sleep, beside me so I don't start jumping around like a kangaroo the next 2 years.
Also teach the too clear up their mess and do house chores. To be independent, to learn how to take responsibility. Little steps at a time.
Get used to expressing praise, love and motivate. It works wonders.
Try to tickle out the best but keep your expectations realistic.
Not everyone can become a doctor, lawyer or Engineer.
Speak to you children and most importantly listen to them!
Be humble! They could sometimes be right and apologise when you have wronged them.
Most adults don't know how to apologize because they never saw their parents do so.
Above all lay it at the feet of the Almighty, the omnipotent.... All things are possible through him.

it's a pity nobody has commented on this thread yet. I have seen several of your videos and have always admired your calm, warm-hearted manner of delivery but this video is the best I have seen so far.

I have just watched a documentary about autism on Netflix about young adults with autism looking for love and I learned a lot about what it means to be on the spectrum. I can't describe how adorable some of the characters in the documentary were and the documentary inspired me to dig a little bit deeper in the topic. One thing led to another and I stumbled on this thread.

I think that such threads/videos are very important since autism is sometimes diagnosed late and too late to tackle some of the effects autism can have on development. However, your video should not only be watched by parents with an autistic child but by every parent. There are so many lessons to be learned here. One of them, to give an example, is that we should make the learning process fun. I think it would serve every child if we knew how. I also love how you addressed your little assistant saying thank you for agreeing to help you. It tells so much about the kind of mother you are and the way you appreciate your children and what they do. I could go on and on but I don't want to make it too lengthy so let me finish off by saying that you are a wonderful mother, as far as my humble self can judge, with beautiful children and I hope more people will visit this thread and learn from your video, this one especially.
