Fashion / Disguise Tricks For Women With Big Tummy by Nekaoflife(f): 11:07am On Nov 28, 2013
With Christmas and New Year fast approaching, you might find yourself engaging in lots of excesses and at this point a flabby tummy could find its way out. While there is no immediate magic to banish the stomach fat besides exercise, dressing cleverly to disguise a big belly and make you feel comfortable and classy. Here are some chic and classy disguise tricks.

Avoid tight clothes

Don’t wear tight garments over your belly. If you want to look stylish and highlight your strengths, it is best not to wear tight tops. They will accentuate every fat bubble you have and draw attention away from you and your fabulous clothes.

Leggings with wide tops

Leggings can be your best friend. They will fit comfortably around your belly and tuck it in a bit. Also, with so many wonderful tunics and long tops to choose from, you will look fabulous. Noone will notice your belly

Wear long cardigans and jackets

Opt for layers with long cardigans or wear jackets. If you wear several layers or add a nice modern jacket emphasizing a vertical line your belly will not be noticed at all.

Avoid belts

Don’t emphasize your tummy by adding accessories like belts No need to draw attention to your midlife tummy and belts will do just that.

The empire waist line

Dresses or tops with an empire waist line can be your best friend. These tops highlight the thinnest part of your top body, which you gives you a great silhouette.

Don’t tuck in

Wear tops over your skirts and pants and don’t tuck them. Tucking draws attention to your non-existing waist.

Health / Things You Should Know About Your Penis By Happenings by Nekaoflife(f): 10:29am On Nov 28, 2013
Discussing the penis is a sensitive subject that is usually not brought up in mixed company, and many men are uncomfortable and unlikely to discuss questions they might have with their doctor. Consequently, this article is designed to answer a few questions that many men (yes, and women, too) have possibly considered asking, but for whatever reason(s), never asked.

Does the penis have a mind of its own?

There are situations when a man may get an erection at an inappropriate time and the man may wish or desire not to have it, but it occurs anyway. Alternatively, there are some times when a man may want an erection but it does not occur. In these situations the penis acts like it has "a mind of its own."

When a penis becomes erect (or not) is controlled by information to it by parts of the nervous system that is not always under a man's conscious control. Two parts that may send messages to the penis independent of a man's conscious control are the autonomic and sympathetic nervous systems. A good example of "brain control" of the penis that is not voluntary (ie controlled by the person) is the erections that occur during sleep or the ones a man notices on occasion when he wakes up in the morning.

Voluntary input for man can influence an erection both positively and negatively, but the penis is influenced by other body nerve systems that, to a large extent, men have little or no control over. In addition, physiologic reactions (blood flow, exposure to cold environment, nerve damage) all interact and may affect the penis and its reaction to any given situation.

Let's talk penis size

Perhaps one of the more comprehensive studies of multiple sources of data on penile size is summarized in an article (reference 2) published by the Department of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College as follows:

Average length of flaccid penis is between 3.4 inches and 3.7 inches (8.6 cm and 9.3 cm)
Average length of erect penis is between 5.1 inches and 5.7 inches (12.9 cm and 14.5 cm)
Average circumference of an erect penis is between 3.5 inches and 3.9 inches (8.8 cm and 10.0 cm)
Other studies provide additional information. For example, several studies show that some men have a flaccid penis that is about the length of an erect penis but when erect, gains little or no length while other men have a short flaccid penis but gain about twice its length when erect. Slang descriptions for a penis are numerous so for a longer flaccid penis, slang describe it as a "show-er" while one that is short but increases length markedly when erect is termed a "grow-er" but many are a combination of both. Consequently, the "show-er" may make the "grow-er" feel inadequate (especially in a High school locker room), but both types usually will produce a somewhat similar sized erection and so "grow-ers" should not feel inadequate. However, in some men, increased body fat, hormonal problems, certain surgeries and disease may decrease penis size.

Is the penis always straight during an erection?

The answer is that during an erection, the penis is more boomerang-shaped than straight, according to many MRI images taken during sex. The base of the penis is fixed by a ligament to the pubic bone (termed the suspensory ligament) and provides support for its upward angle and reduces movement at the base of the penis. This base area of the penis is inside the body; cutting the ligament can add a bit of length to a penis but the upward angle is lost as is the stability at the base.

Romance / Re: 5 Dating Tips For Shy Guys by Nekaoflife(f): 7:06pm On Nov 06, 2013
these are the remaining tips as requested:

3: Prepare (but Don't Rehearse)
Take reasonable steps to avoid any surprises. Scout the place out and do a run-through. Find out how much money you'll need for food, tickets or souvenirs.

It also helps to have a backup plan. Check with your date first, however. You may think the auto show is a fine Plan B if you can't score tickets to the art exhibit -- your date, not so much.

After that, loosen up. Don't script the whole date. Think of the best times you've had with your friends. Did you have a program of planned events with predetermined starting and ending times? Unless you're thinking back to your sixth birthday party, probably not.

Unfortunately, the saying about the best laid schemes of mice and men is true -- for men, at least. Our next tip helps you deal with that possibility.

2: Don't Expect Perfection
Suppose you're enjoying a really good hamburger. Would you lose your appetite because you think it could use more onions? It's the same with dating. You can both have a good time even if your haircut looks nerdy and you don't get her jokes.

But suppose the burger is burned beyond edibility. Do you mope over the charred beef or chow down the tasty fries? Likewise, getting lost on your way to a destination could be a humiliating disaster ("I'm so sorry! I guess you never want to see me again"wink -- or a chance to show grace under pressure ("We missed the start of the movie. But I hear there's a cool show at the planetarium …"wink. The choice is yours.

Our final tip is the make-or-break factor. It's the aim that underlies all the others.

1: Make It About Her
If you've been reading between the lines, you see this is the essence of a good date. Smile when you see her. Compliment her hair. If it's raining, offer to drop her off at the door.

Ask her questions; listen to her answers. It flatters her and takes the focus off you. But don't make her feel like a "CSI: Miami" suspect. Try comments that encourage a response without demanding one: "It sounds like you really like your job," or "I can't wait for winter to end."

When it's your turn, avoid making yourself sound like a superhero. When you're with guys, bragging is almost expected; to women it's a turn-off. A little modesty makes you look a lot better.

Fashion / FASHION TIP: For The Athletic Built Woman by Nekaoflife(f): 3:58pm On Nov 06, 2013
The lean athletic body shape is one of the least common body shapes. Also called 'boyish', 'straight up and down' and 'sporty', an athletic figure normally has shoulders and hips of the same width, long arms and legs, a slight (undefined ) waist and small boobs. It may include broad shoulders and strong thighs.

The great advantage of an athletic shape is you can wear pretty much anything but lots of women who have this shape complain about feeling unfeminine and find it difficult to find clothes that suit their slightly androgynous shape. Here are some style tips:

Short, fitted dresses

These dresses show off your slender shape and long legs. Flippy dresses with simple spaghetti straps instantly add dimension and femininity.

Avoid plunging necklines

Stay away from round or plunging necklines - they will make your boobs look smaller - and opt for an empire-line cut instead.

Your slim hips and long legs can accommodate the frilliest underwear, and you can add oomph to your cleavage with a padded or gel bra

Wear leggings

Leggings look great as they show off your slim legs and allow you to wear something with more volume or detail on top. You can get away with skinny and straight-legged jeans too.

A-line skirts

Use A-line skirts to add definition to your waist. You can experiment with lengths - show off those lovely legs. Flat waistbands on skirts will add some structure to your middle.

Soften hard lines

Look for feminine details in your clothes to soften any hard lines. Ruffles on tops will work wonders.

Romance / 5 Dating Tips For Shy Guys by Nekaoflife(f): 3:46pm On Nov 06, 2013
If you read the comic strip "Peanuts," you probably know about the little red-haired girl. She's Charlie Brown's unnamed, unseen dream girl. Charlie Brown worships her from a distance -- a long distance. The few times he gets up the nerve to approach her, something gets in the way and messes things up. Usually, that something is Charlie Brown.

A lot of guys can sympathize, some more than others. For chronically shy guys, every girl is that little red-haired girl. And unlike the comics, it's no laughing matter. While we can't cure shyness in five easy lessons, we can give you five tips for overcoming your inner Charlie Brown -- five strategies to boost your confidence.

To start our classic plot of boy meets girl, we ask: How does boy meet girl?

5: Look for Like-minded Mates
Having common interests or shared circumstances makes it easier to break the ice, and you're more likely to pick events that you'll both enjoy. Is there a classmate who loves Civil War history as much as you do? A coworker whose spread in "Farmville" is even bigger than yours? There's your cue.

If you're not a member of a group or club, consider joining one. Unless it's a fantasy football league or something similar, you'll probably meet a fair number of females. If you get to see each other in ordinary situations, that might be even better. When you clean cages at the animal shelter with someone, worrying about impressing her on a date seems kind of pointless.

Which brings us to the next tip: where to go and what to do.

4: Stay Within Your Comfort Zone
Until you gain more confidence in yourself and the relationship, look for situations where you know your way around. That doesn't mean you have to go to the same restaurant every time. Just don't go to a grill-your-own steakhouse if you're clueless about cooking.

Pick an informal, open-ended event with no set agenda, like a street fair. If you and she "click," suggest a more intimate but nonthreatening follow-up: coffee at a popular restaurant, say, rather than a walk in a quiet park.

On the other hand, stay open to ideas that stretch a little beyond the tried and true. Trust your date not to suggest something where you'd really feel lost or bored -- she wants to have a good time, too!

Celebrities / I Was Paid N500 For My First Show – Ill Bliss A.K.A Oga Boss by Nekaoflife(f): 11:01am On Nov 05, 2013
Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor popularly known as Ill Bliss or Illy is a Hiphop/Rap recording artist, CEO, The Goretti Company (Talent Managers) and Principal Partner of Capital Dreams Pictures. He can be characterized by these three features: consciousness, lyricism and creativity.

His diverse approach to hip hop ranges from social issues to love/relationships, peer pressure and topics the average head can relate to, while retaining elements of hip hop and ethnic content, a virtue which sets him apart from the crowd and makes him the OGA BOSS himself!!!

Happenings: Tell us about your musical background?

Ill Bliss: I got into rap music through my older brother. He brought some tapes to the house and asked that I listen to it. I did and the first song I heard was Eric Birac, it sounded interesting. So I wrote down the lyrics, then from there I started digging into that kind of music. It was that regular for me, I mean growing up in the eastern part of Nigeria; rap music wasn’t something that was all over the place. From there I found other artiste like the late heavy D, LL Cool J, Cool Moody, The Nice; the list is endless. I just got into it and I liked it because it was different. It sounded like words over beats, from there I started writing down the lyrics and from writing the lyrics; I started writing my own lyrics and that’s what brought me to this stage.

Happenings: When did you decide to go into rap professionally?

Ill Bliss: When I was in the university, my first year in the university; my pocket money was never enough. So, I had to start rapping and doing something else to get money. So, I started doing shows; my first show I earned N500 and I tore the whole school down; from there I moved up my money to N2000. Then it started growing, that was a lot of money back then in school; so it will be my first year in the university. I just realized that I was never going to be a cultist or a club boy, I just wanted to be different; so I went in for rap and started performing. But before then, I’ve been writing music, trying my hands on rap. I’ll go to a record store, record instruments and start to write over them; try to see if I can find the bounce and the flare for it.

Happenings: Tell us about your company?

Ill Bliss: I have a management company called Goretti Company. We manage talents basically. However, I got into partnership with a very close friend of mine, Clarance Peters, who owned a label at a point; called Capital Hills Music. We met and discussed and started working together; after a few years, it became a full blown partnership. So Capital Hill is the record label and Goretti Company is the management Company. My direct business is Goretti Company but because of the affiliation, we also take care of the entire artistes on the platform.

Happenings: How have you been able to differentiate real talent from one hit wonders?

Ill Bliss: I guess its God though. It is very divine because I take my time in the selection process and I give it a lot of insight, then I put everything in God’s hands. If this is that talent that we need to stay on top of the game; then so be it. Like Chidinma and Phyno, if you’ve noticed these two talents are very dynamic and different.

What we do is to find a talent and create it. At Capital Goretti, what we do is to find a talent and then mold it into what they need basically; make him/her look different and unique from everybody else in the business. We also pay a lot of attention to the music, we always insist that people maintain their originality and retain their sound. Tomorrow if you see me signing a rock band, don’t be suprised or even a saxophonist. All I’m just trying to do is to make sure that I put people in their comfort zone and then give them a platform to go main stream with whatever they are doing. No matter how eclectic it is.

Happenings: When did you first meet Chidinma and what was striking about her?

Ill Bliss: She won the third edition of the MTN project fame show. So, after the show I was called to have a meeting to discuss management with her. And then, we started working from there. She came straight from the choir to win Project Fame. She has never recorded a single song in her life, so the first song she recorded I was there. So we built it all up from the scratch to what it is today. And then, it takes a lot of hard work, a lot of perseverance. As at the point she started nobody really gave her a chance but today she is “Miss Kedike” “E Mi Ni Baller” and everything is really pouring up for her.

Health / How To Keep Your bosoms Firm by Nekaoflife(f): 4:19pm On Oct 11, 2013
No other part of the body is more affected by the force of gravity than the breasts. Saggy breasts are the most listed concerns of women, according to researchers. And for that reason, we have outlined a few tips on how to prevent saggy breast and keep them perky. From the moment a woman’s chest is fully grown, in her late teens to mid-twenties, she faces an uphill battle to defy the downward pull.

Keep Weight Stable

One of the best things you can do for your breasts is to maintain a constant body weight for your height that’s within the recommended range.’ Inconsistent weight gaining or loss due to yo-yo dieting will permanently stretch the supporting skin, leading to a droopier chest. As women become more buxom, they are more likely to face sagging. That’s because the rise is mainly due to an increase in fat content in the breasts-fat is heavier and therefore harder to support.

Breastfeeding

Don’t be afraid to breastfeed your baby. Contrary to what most women believe, breastfeeding doesn’t cause the breast to sag. Researchers found no difference in the degree of sagging between women who had breastfed and those who had not. Researchers and health and medical personnel strongly encourage breastfeeding especially as the health benefits for the baby far outweigh any possible effects on the breasts.’

Health / The Nitty-gritty Of Menopause by Nekaoflife(f): 11:44am On Oct 08, 2013
It is normal for every woman to experience menopause at some point in their lives. The same way the beginning of a menstrual cycle signals entering a certain stage is the same way menopause signifies an advance in years — the end of the monthly cycle for women and as such, the end of reproduction.

Menopause is expected to occur during a woman’s 40s or 50s. The occurrence of menopause in many women might come with sudden uncomfortable changes; mentally and physically.

Fashion / Dressing To Suit Your Body During Pregnancy by Nekaoflife(f): 11:04am On Oct 08, 2013
No matter how you’re carrying your baby; big all over, carrying high, carrying low or tiny all over, flatter your figure with these tips:

If you’re big all over

From puffy face to swollen ankles, you want to signal that you're pregnant, not fat. Your goal is to emphasize length, not width. Pair a floaty tunic top with plain black pants. The dark head-to-toe silhouette lengthens your torso, which offsets roundness and de-emphasizes girth. Draw the eyes upward to a snazzy neckline with jeweled or embroidery detailing. For your feet, slim flats or wedge heel lengthen your legs. Steer clear of rounded-toe shoes, which can make your legs look stumpy.

If you're carrying low

Your baby rides so low on your frame that you look overdue. Rebalance your proportions by drawing attention elsewhere. You can achieve with a V-neck Empire-waist top lends, which will add definition to your figure and accentuates your blossoming bust line. Keep the focus up top. Throw on a shorter open cardigan to help even out your proportions. And since a low belly can make legs look stumpy, lengthen yours with boot-cut dark pants in a jersey knit or stretch denim paired with a slightly pointed flat shoes.

Romance / Things Happy Couples Do Differently by Nekaoflife(f): 10:09am On Oct 08, 2013
Not all relationships are created equally. If you’d like to spice up your relationship with a dose of fun, consider the following 15 things happy couples do differently.

1. They care about each other’s day.
It is easy to get so caught up in our own lives that we forget all about our partners’. Before going off on a rant about what a stupid jerk your boss is, give your partner a hug or kiss and ask, “How was your day?”

2. They embrace trust and avoid jealousy.
Our schools and workplaces aren’t segregated by gender, so how could we expect a person to not have friends of the opposite gender? Recall the tried-and-true statement innocent until proven guilty. If you accuse your partner of cheating without cause, what incentive do they have to be faithful when they feel like you don’t trust them no matter what?

3. They find common ground.
That initial spark is a glorious thing but there’s no denying that it can be fleeting. To keep your relationship interesting, find common hobbies and interests to pursue. If you don’t have much in common, explore something that is new to both of you.

4. They compromise.
We can’t have everything we want. If your boyfriend took you to a romantic movie he wasn’t that into, snuggle up with him during Game Night to return the favour

Romance / Diary Of A Curvy Phat Girl: “let’s See How It Goes” by Nekaoflife(f): 3:45pm On Sep 27, 2013
I’m not a relationship expert but if there’s one thing I know, when a guy or man you’re seeing refuses to label what you both share, whether it’s a committed one or friends with benefits and somehow you come up with the discussion on where “we have something” relationship is headed and he tells you, “babe let’s just see how it goes”.

My dear friends, I advise you to run faster than a cheetah from men like that, except you’re not looking for anything serious. If you’re looking for anything serious then you should read this article.

I’ve been a victim of “let’s see how it goes”, not once but twice, apparently I remixed the once beaten twice shy lesson.

I was having the time of my life with Stanley (not real name), or so I thought. I assumed we were dating but it turns out I was in a relationship with myself.

That’s another thing you shouldn’t do, never assume, define your relationship form the beginning. Don’t be like me that was busy updating my bbm status to “boo of life”, “my baby is the best”.

Celebrities / Exclusive Interview With MTN Project Fame Winner Ayoola Ayobami by Nekaoflife(f): 3:45pm On Sep 21, 2013
How did you feel when you won the MTN Project Fame Competition?

I had my five minutes of madness. I’ve been trying out for music auditions since 2008, I auditioned for Project Fame, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th season before I won the 5th time. I also went for other auditions as well; peak talent show, Nigerian Idols, Naija Sings, everything I went for them every year, when the opportunity came, I auditioned. Somehow I was always kicked out, every time I went I felt I was going to win, somehow, it wasn’t my time.

Then I went for this one, I wasn’t really serious about it, but I just told myself, let me just go so I won’t regret it when some else wins it. Meanwhile I was just evicted for the show, a month before I went for Project Fame, so I didn’t tell anybody I was going.

To cut the long story short, when I won, it was like winning a war for me because I had fought and fought and finally my efforts were been rewarded, I will never forget that day.

What motivated you to keep trying out, despite rejections?

Number one, it wasn’t my job to go for auditions, I got hate signals and “beef” from a few people who told made I didn’t know how to turn my life, I was depending solely on auditions, that can’t I explore my other talents?

I want to say this now, most people who go for auditions; they just go to try out. It’s not like that is all they are waiting for. Of cause there are other things we do, I was in school for crying out loud. The first year I auditioned for project fame, I was doing my IT and then the opportunity came and I went for it. It got to a stage where I had to either defer my admission if they called me back, but they didn’t call me back so I went to school and completed my degree. The next year after I had finished and doing my Youth Service, I went and auditioned again. I was going to choose between my Youth Service and Project Fame. But I didn’t even get pass the second stage.

The first two times I went back because I didn’t have any reason not to go back until I was kicked out. The second time I auditioned I was told to come back the next year and try again, I felt insulted, so I went the third time to prove them wrong, not because I didn’t have anything to do. The third time was even worse than the second because I didn’t pass the first stage and that is like the easiest, you could sing with your nose and you’ll get through.

The more I was rejected, the worse I felt. The next year, I told myself I wasn’t going again, that would be the last one, somehow I found myself auditioning again, and I got to the third stage. Then again I was kicked out. But guess what? I went for peak talent show, I got kicked out. I went for Naija sings and Nigerian Idols but I got kicked out as well.

It became like an addiction for me, I even became popular, infact it became a stigma. I decided I must prove a point that was when I went in for MTN Project Fame Season 5.

Has your recent fame affected your relationships (friends and family)?

My fame hasn’t changed the way I relate with my friends or with people; I’m basically the same guy. I’m not saying this in any attempt to be humble. I’m still me and nothing has changed at all. Of course 20 friends cannot play for 20 years, some friends have moved on, no fight oh. The good thing is that people believe in me more than they used to and they take me more seriously.

What challenges have you encountered since your victory?

Everywhere I go I call it the battle of identity, we all have our different identities. Just like everyone else, I’m battling with mine, because there are a million and one extra talented artistes out there, including those that are established or struggling to be established. So having to find my grounds and my sound and to carve a niche is challenging for me. Another thing is breaking off from that surname that comes with winning a competition; everywhere I go; people are like Ayo from Project Fame, that’s not my surname for crying out loud, I want people to know me beyond Project Fame.

What would you have done if you lost?

Life goes on, I probably would have tried outing for this current season, remember I said it was an addiction for me; maybe I’ll be on another show right now.

TV/Movies / MOVIE REVIEW: Side Effects By Sodas And Popcorn by Nekaoflife(f): 2:54pm On Sep 05, 2013
The Directing

Director Steven Soderbergh who bid farewell to the world of movie making (for the art of painting, yes you heard me right, painting) recently definitely takes a bow in grand style. Side Effects definitely goes down in the records as one of the best movies he has ever made. For a man who has been very relevant over the last 6 years with at least a movie every year, hardly did any one of them fall short of expectations. Although I wasn’t a big fan of Magic Mike (honestly, I haven’t finished the movie till this day) but critics were full of nothing but praises for the movie shortly after its release. So always was the positive response to Ocean’s 13, Contagion, Traffic, and the list goes on and on.

Side Effects which delivers a classic neo-noir story was so well done, I am sure any mistake sighted in the movie would be seen as some part of Soderbergh’s style. Like many of his other movies do, Side Effects relies on awesome storytelling and captivating performances from its acts.

The Acting

Rooney Mara was absolutely mind blowing as usual in this movie. Just like she blew our minds in Girl with a Dragon Tatoo, she did again in this movie and totally stole the show from everyone else. She will most likely get an Oscar Nomination for her performance in this movie. Jude Law who played the more troubled and desperate Doctor Watson in this movie wasn’t short of a lovely performance himself. At some point in the movie, I got so drawn in, I started to truly feel sad for all the happenings going on in his life, before I finally snapped out of it.

Music/Radio / FLASHBACK: Remembering Kevin Lyttle’s ‘turn Me On by Nekaoflife(f): 11:22am On Aug 29, 2013
A time existed when no party was complete without the jamming of ‘Turn me on’; a song by Kevin Lyttle, a Vincentian Soca artist.

‘Turn me on’ usually always brought good, bad and ugly dancers to their feet with its rendition, lyrics and beats. Kevin Lyttle in that time became a household name for making such an excellent track alongside dance hall artist Spragga Benz.

That song ruled the air waves and parties for so long and just as fast as it invaded the music scene, its singer, Kevin Lyttle dropped from the radar.

Where is Kevin Lyttle now, you may be tempted to ask; but then this piece isn’t about the artist but the track ‘Turn me on’.

Family / Baby Shower Gift Ideas by Nekaoflife(f): 11:18am On Aug 28, 2013
Pregnant ladies equal shopping time. Below are 5 gifts that any mom will most certainly appreciate of. The baby shower gift ideas are wonderful for those who are going shopping or for moms

1. Baby diapers, diapers and more baby diapers. That is rather a normal present however a very much required gift. I do not consider any mom who will grumble about having a lot of baby diapers with a newborn at home.

2. Layettes, blankets, socks and burp cloths. Making this a great gift is if you purchase them in bigger sizes. After a few months, mother still has brand new presents for the baby to delight in.

Romance / How To Fall In Love With Your Husband Again by Nekaoflife(f): 10:54am On Aug 28, 2013
In the Picture Perfect Relationship, everything looks amazing – from the outside. You and your partner go on awesome vacations and host everyone’s favorite dinner parties, but once you’re alone you don’t touch or look at each other anymore. Neither of you are truly happy or fulfilled, but you also aren’t willing to address the disconnection. Instead, you each just stick to your routines and pray that the rift between you magically repairs itself.

If this sounds like your relationship, know that it’s entirely fixable, but you’re going to have to experience a major shift in your priorities. You have to truly understand that no matter what you achieve in life, it’s not going to matter if you’re alone and miserable. In addition to kicking butt at work, caring for the kids, and planning your next vacation, you must work on your relationship.

You can start by genuinely making your guy a priority again. For example, when he asks you a question, put your book or phone down and look at him. Even if you’ve been together for 20 years and you’re pretty sick of looking at him in general, do it anyway! Make eye contact, answer his question, smile, and be present. I promise you: this is one small step that goes a long, long way.

Next, figure out what you two still like to do together. Even if it’s something small like watching a particular TV show in bed, make sure you do it regularly! You could even place your head on his shoulder while you watch, instead of staying far away on your side of the bed. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but do it anyway!

Career / Words To Avoid When Talking To Your Boss by Nekaoflife(f): 10:45am On Aug 28, 2013
In your career, you will inevitably end up saying some dumb or regrettable things to your boss. We all do it to varying degrees at one time or another. The following list of such things is by no means exhaustive, but if you can avoid saying them, you will be doing yourself, your professional persona and your boss a tremendous service.

“Impossible; that can't be done.”

This is just the kind of short-sighted thinking no boss wants to hear about. It suggests both a lack of effort and indifference. So, unless you follow it up with a solution or an alternative, it’s not terribly proactive or even helpful to say such a thing.

“This is the best they could do, huh?”

Whether said in response to new office phones, computers or the banquet hall at a family-style restaurant rented for a Christmas party, this is one of those smart-ass comments that indicate to your boss, and to others, that you have a deluded sense of entitlement. It also belittles the efforts someone -- possibly your boss or even his boss -- has made.

“Not my problem.”

Be that as it may, this presupposes the existence of a problem and, more than likely, a frustrated boss or coworker in need of some assistance. At the very least, your boss is looking for someone to take responsibility of the solution to this problem -- even if it wasn't yours to begin with. That means he already knows it’s not your problem, so you can spare him the reminder.

"That isn't in my job description.”

A lot of things aren't detailed in your job description, including e-mailing your friends from work or surfing the web, but you probably do those things anyways, right? So when the boss asks you to do something a little out of the ordinary don't take offense and never say to your boss that it's not in your job description to do it.

Health / Is Sex Safe During Pregnancy? by Nekaoflife(f): 4:23pm On Aug 24, 2013
Pregnant women and their partners often wonder if it's safe to have sex during pregnancy. Will it result in miscarriage? Will it harm the unborn baby? Are there sex positions to avoid? Here's the information you've been looking for.

Is Sex Safe During Pregnancy?

Sex is a natural, normal part of pregnancy -- if you're having a normal pregnancy. Penetration and intercourse’s movement won't harm the baby, who is protected by your abdomen and the uterus’ muscular walls. Your baby is also cushioned by the amniotic sac’s fluid.

The contractions of orgasm aren't the same as labor contractions. Still, as a general safety precaution, some doctors advise avoiding sex in the final weeks of pregnancy, believing that hormones in semen called prostaglandins can stimulate contractions. One exception may be for women who are overdue and want to induce labor. Some doctors believe that prostaglandins in semen actually induce labor in a full-term or past-due pregnancy, since the gel used to "ripen" the cervix and induce labor also contains prostaglandins. But other doctors believe this semen/labor connection is only theoretical and that having sex doesn't trigger labor.

As for orgasm, those contractions aren't the same as labor contractions. So there's no problem there

Romance / 10 Habits That Let You Meet Women by Nekaoflife(f): 4:13pm On Aug 24, 2013
Let's be clear here: This is not just a list of places to go to pick up women, and if you take it that way, it's not going to be very helpful. Rather, these are ways to conduct yourself so that you'll be more open to meeting people -- specifically, women -- and will then potentially have the chance for those relationships to become something more.

As a general rule, women are more approachable and less suspicious when they meet guys through the course of a regular day and in an atmosphere when they feel at ease, as opposed to when a guy introduces himself in a more typical setting (bars or clubs, for example). For a lot of women, anything with a meat-market vibe is not ideal for meetin men, and if you go through this list motivated only by a slavering desire for sex, women will detect that insincerity, and you'll fool exactly nobody. Don't look at these as pickup strategies; just think of them as generally positive habits that happen to have an added benefit.

No.1 Never hesitate
The rest of this list is pretty useless if you're afraid to seize the opportunities you're presented with. When you've got the chance to get to know someone -- or if you've already gotten to know her, and you want the relationship to develop into something more -- you can't expect her to do the hard part for you. Confidence is like any other personality trait; you can improve it by working at it, and if you don't, you're not just going to spontaneously grow some confidence someday. Take initiative, and don't waste the opportunities you get.

No.2 Find causes you care about and volunteer

It's important for you to actually care about whatever cause you decide to champion (although you really can't go wrong with anything that involves animals). Spending your time in service of some greater goal demonstrates that you're a decent human being, and on top of that, passion is an attractive quality. Just be genuine here, and don't pick some cause you're ambivalent about. Faking concern over social issues so you can pick up women isn't a plan that should cross a healthy mind.

No.3 Offer help and be courteous
We're not trying to suggest that holding the door for someone with an armload of groceries or giving up your seat on the bus to an old lady is a way to meet women, and besides, it hopefully doesn't take the lure of sex to convince you to be a gentleman. But keep in mind that not doing those things is a pretty good way to look like an ass. And if it does take the thought of social repercussions to convince you to act like a decent guy, then consider that a beautiful woman could be watching every time you don't tip a waitress or cut off a driver.

No.4 Use dating sites and social media to fill up your calendar

One of the most significant roadblocks to a vibrant social life is falling prey to regularity and routine; you're not meeting as many people as you could if you do the same thing every night and every weekend. It's important to branch out and do new things when you can. Facebook is instrumental in letting people publicize parties, shows and events, but don't stop there; something as simple as meeting up with people through Foursquare can be rewarding, and dating sites like OkCupid and Zoosk are surprisingly viable options

No.5 Groom
Part of the motivation for this list is that meeting women can and does happen just about anywhere. You never know where and when you're going to run into someone absolutely stunning, but you'd better believe it'll happen on the one morning you skip your shower and stagger to work looking like a grungy failure. Taking care of your appearance shouldn't be something you only bother with when you're going out; it should be an indispensable part of your routine.

Celebrities / Mr Nigeria 2013 Kenneth Okolie In Exclusive Interview by Nekaoflife(f): 2:22pm On Aug 21, 2013
I started my modeling career in 2006, but before then, I hadn’t thought much about modeling until my friends encouraged me. They asked me to accompany them for a photo shoot and they urged me to participate, I actually did it for fun. I had never thought of myself as the photogenic type, but the photographer was very impressed; he took my photographs along with my friends’ own and presented them to agents. I got two modeling jobs before my friends; in addition, a particular agency took all of my pictures. This experience gave me the confidence to go into modeling.

In 2007 I represented Nigeria in Abidjan and won the black model award. In 2010 I won Mr Nigeria, that same year I represented Nigeria in Mr World contest and I was the second runner up (3rd place).

Before I signed up for the Mr. Nigeria contest, I already had experience and skills in modeling

Career / Some Mistakes Job Seekers Make by Nekaoflife(f): 4:41pm On Aug 06, 2013
Many people make significant job search mistakes and never even know about it. These blunders are easy to make, and they can cost you the job offer or loss of money.

Below, are 10 of the biggest mistakes some job seekers make and how to avoid them:

Starting the process too late:

Ideally, graduate students should start looking for meaningful jobs long before they convocate. Some undergraduates, who assume that they will get a job without too much effort, wait too long to begin the process,, forgetting that the job market is very competitive.

Under-utilizing the alumni network:

Though parents and their friends can provide good contacts, the network of professionals that comes through a college or university should be one of the first places a young job seeker turns.

Using a sloppy and self-centered résumé:

Young job seekers are often weak on résumé basics, like clear, tidy layout, careful proofreading for grammar and punctuation, and use of keywords from the job description. Another big problem: the “objective” section tends to be too much about what they want, and not enough about the potential employer. For example, young applicants often say, “entry level position where I can use my skills, ideas and enthusiasm and I can learn a lot.” Instead, the emphasis should be on what they can contribute to the employer. Applicants should also leave off menial jobs like camp counselor, unless they can quantify their achievements.

Writing cover letters that repeat the résumé

Many young applicants regurgitate their résumé accomplishments in their cover letters. Instead, cover letters should be short and vivid, and say something particular about what the applicant can bring to the job.

Doing poor research

Young job seekers often just glance at a company website before an interview. Instead they should read everything on the site, search for news clippings about the company, and track social media information, like Twitter feeds, on company managers.

Failing to clean up their social media profile

All of those drunken, bikini-clad pictures on Facebook should be removed, or locked down with privacy settings. Everyone, including college students, needs a polished LinkedIn LNKD profile.

TV/Movies / For Men: 4 Types Of Women You Can Easily Have Sex With - See More At: Http://www by Nekaoflife(f): 12:54pm On Aug 02, 2013
Sometimes, you're up for a challenge, pickup-wise. Other times, you need more of a sure thing.

Simply put, if you can recognize a certain characteristic in a woman and play that characteristic to your advantage, then you have a pretty good chance of playing things all the way to the bedroom that same night.

From the Cougar to the Sexplorer, it all starts with knowing how to read and recognize the signs. Each type of woman below will be accompanied by a personal story and a conversion rating out of 10, showing how likely you are to consummate things on the first night with her.

1- The Cougar

Who is the Cougar?
The name says it all. A Cougar is an older woman who may have previously been married. She may or may not be well to do, but she definitely appreciates money.

She goes out to pick up men. She is often quite direct in her attempts to seduce men. She's out to enjoy life and have a good time with younger men who still desire her. In this way she's like The Player's opposite number: the one who brings experience and confidence to the table -- or bed, rather.

She'll often be a smoker who dies her hair and dolls herself up -- she wears quite a bit of makeup and tight, sexy clothes that make her look like she's trying to look like anything but a middle-aged mother.

Where to find her: Bars, lounges and offices. She probably hangs out with other cougars.

How to get her: Look good, successful and fit -- she's seeking younger men for their youthful "perks." She wants a boy toy she can show off to her girlfriends. Meet her confidence level and you'll be locking genitals in no time.
