I think u can agree with me that saying something a certain way all your life does not make it correct. Its just that its the way you know it, and if you hear it said differently, it sounds wrong. You are wrong, the use of the two words together turns it into what is called a "phrasal verb" and this turns the preposition "for" into a particle. And no, it ain't Nigerian lingo either

E.g. His face cracked into a smile (Oxford Dico).
The witnesses cracked and the truth came out (Oxford Dico).
It means the question's brain taxing.
