Autos / Re: What Are The Advantages Of Buying Used Cars? by niyimat(m): 10:09am On Nov 29, 2013
Been reading through comments on this trend, am like how many %of Nigerians can afford a new car? Realistically, new car is the best, but for you to afford it, you must be related to a politician and be spending part of our common wealth or fortunate to be working for one of the big paying jobs which are very very few. Prices of new cars keep going higher because of the extra research manufacturer put into new car designs.

Cars should be a necessity by needs not the new status, I don arrive and luxury syndrome that we attach to it in this country.

Besides we lack the maintenance culture, we over look a lot of things and that is what the oyinbos got more than we do and that is why our cars doesn't last long.

Buy a fairly used car maintain it and save some money for tomorrow.

Religion / Re: Why Do People Treat The Jehovah Witnesses Like A Plague by niyimat(m): 2:46pm On Nov 21, 2013
[quote author=Ozichim]

Answering your questions:

1, The Christian God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is three in one. Human being was made in God’s Image.
There was never a time when there was no God because when Christ was death, He was still in charge, according to the bible Christ descended into hell to liberate the souls in there.
There was never a time when there was no God because when the body of a man sleeps, the man is till there and still exists. (man is made of Spirit, Soul and body). So when the spirit is sleeping the man is still there. Christ rose from the death and returned to His Glory.

2, When Christ was baptized the father said this is my beloved Son. It was God the father that said that.
You can liken God the father as the soul of man.
ie For God: For Man:
God the Father, ------------------- Soul of Man,
God the Son (Jesus Christ), ------ Man’s body man’s flesh (The visible body),
God the Holy Spirit----------------- Spirit of man

3, Jesus always refer to God the father as “Father” because that's the best way man can understand His personality, if you understand what “I am the Son of God” imply you will also understand what “My Father” mean.
John 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
John 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Joh 8:53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
Joh 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
Joh 8:55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
Joh 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
Joh 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Let me say something here, If you know that your son is a human being then just know that God’s Son is God. Otherwise your son may be goat or monkey.

When Jesus call God His Father they and when He say He is the Son of God they try to kill him because they understand that He is telling them that He is God. John 10:30 I and my Father are one.[/q

this explanation is definitely incoherent. you preach trinity yet the bible vs you quoted says the opposite.
as to john 8:58 that you quoted, jesus was the first angel that God created.
Col 1:15 attested to that fact "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation"
yes jesus was right to say he was greater than Abraham becos proverb 8:22-30 "Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago..............."
you should please try read this book of proverb very well because it confirms the father son relationship that jesus has been with jehovah for ions of years and that says a lot on the agreement btw them.

danzite: last tym Jw came to my house, they told me that "God" is a tittle nd not a Person. any Christian organization that doesn't bliv in Trinity, Rapture, Repentance, Salvation..... ain't Christians. jws are worse than idol worshipers, they are the best tool being used by satan today. I avoid them cos they disgust me with their heresy.

Hi my friend, i well respected your opinion about the JW. firstly, as you have said that any body who do not believe in the trinity doctrine is not a Christian,
how about if we go a little bit on what the doctrine is all about?
Nearly all churches of Christendom teach that God is a Trinity. But what is trinity all about?
according to the catholic encyclopedia, it refers to it as “the central doctrine of the Christian religion,” it says and i coat;
“In the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another. Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed: ‘the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God.’ . . . The Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent". . The Catholic Encyclopedia, 1912, Volume XV, page 47

The Baptist Encyclopædia gives a similar definition. It says: “[Jesus] is . . . the eternal Jehovah . . . The Holy Spirit is Jehovah . . . The Son and Spirit are placed on an exact equality with the Father. If he is Jehovah so are they." . The Baptist Encyclopædia, edited by William Cathcart, 1883, pages 1168-9.

now if the trinity is the core doctrine of the Christian faith as you and the reference above claims, then I invite you to search the Bible, especially the 27 books of the Christian Greek Scriptures, to see for yourself if Jesus and his disciples taught a Trinity. As you search, please ask yourself:

1. Can I find any scripture that mentions “Trinity”? any at all
2. Can I find any scripture that says that God is made up of three distinct persons, Father, Son, and holy spirit, but that the three are only one God?
3. Can I find any scripture that says that the Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in all ways, such as in eternity, power, position, and wisdom?

Search as you may, you will not find one scripture that uses the word Trinity, nor will you find any that says that Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in all ways, such as in eternity, power, position, and wisdom. Not even a single scripture says that the Son is equal to the Father in those ways—and if there were such a scripture, it would establish not a Trinity but at most a “duality.” Nowhere does the Bible equate the holy spirit with the Father.

that they are have done this twice this year is a big indicator is that they are loosing the nigeria market. more and more people are refusing to subscribe to their sets of repeated program based premium channels. i use DSTV because i live in the far north and there are no local channel to feel up the vacuum they occupy.one thing i dislike about them is that there banquets are not commensurate on the money. i used to dash them money by subscribing to their family banquet at 3k. until i realize that i should downgrade and subscribe to the 1500k thing. i never regretted doing so because the difference btw the two are just few insignificant channels. pay them 1500k and stop wasting money.

Family / Re: Raising A Child To Speak English In Nigeria: Is It Proper? by niyimat(m): 2:41pm On May 06, 2013
greatgod2012: In my own opinion, i think not allowing your children speak your indigeneus language is like telling them, indirectly, that, you are not proud of your tribe and its language, atleast, if you are proud of a thing, you will want people to identify you with that thing, and i notice that its mostly common with we yorubas, you can hardly find an igbo or hausa kids, who will not be proud to speak their indigenous languages, even, in public places, but, we yorubas,......hhhhmmmmm, may God help us.

Well, in my own house, we (hubby and i) ensure that our children understand our language very well, infact, its a rule that........
1. You must know the yoruba meaning of whatever you are talking about, so anytime they see a new thing, which they know its english name, i tell them the yoruba meaning and ask them to address the thing in yoruba for a whole week, except in school.
2. Once i speak to you in yoruba, you must respond in yoruba, and it has helped them a great deal to speak the language fluently.

The mistake our people makes is that, once a child speaks totally in English, it makes the child a brilliant child, which is not true sometimes, or even most times, i remember one of my secondary school mates, who could speak english like mad, but repeated S.S1 three time, and the fourth time, she was advised to withdraw, because it was a laid down rule in my school then, that, once a student repeat a class three times, and she also repeat the fourth time, she would be advised to withdraw, but, you need to know this girl, then, even, oyinbo man could not speak english fluently as she used to, but, gbogbo e.....odo ni.
@all, lets all embrace our indigenous languages, and also encourage our kids to embrace it. teni n teni, takisa ni t'aatan.
May God help us.

on point.

once upon a time in the the cradle town of ile ife, Osun state. The education stake holders decided to build a primary school with the objective of using the local language Yoruba to teach all subjects except during English language classes from classes 1-6.

Only few academias obliged to enroll their children. I was one of the first set of pupils that were enrolled, we were about 30 in class.

The result was phenomena. Yoruba language was used to perform wonders. mathematics, integrated science, social studies, physical education name them were taught with the Yoruba language. we can recite numbers 1-1000 in yoruba, read, write and understand essays in yoruba. It was so much fun, learning was easy.
many of my colleagues did excellently well in their various secondary schools. The SP in the secondary school that I attended was one of my primary school colleagues.

Even though the school still exist, am not sure if the method really last for a long time in the wake of Englishspeaking syndrome, and private schools springing up everywhere.

in a nutshell, am a proponent of using the mother tougue to start with an infant @least 60%. This will develop the child intellectually, more of the mother tougue and any other ones can follow.

@iebanehita, nice points. I just checked wikipeadia now, I too never knew that the formal rendering of this proverb/idiom is not correct but 'You can't have your cake and eat it'. You can't both possess your cake and eat it. i.e you can't do two incompatible things at the same time.

@ Frank, this is fascinating, I was captivated by your novel since saturday, I finished today.

The first part was very sharp and straight to the point and that was what made a first time reader to get glued to it. By the time I got to part two, you slowed down a little bit and that was perfect, you brought out all the details. When I got to the third part, you released all the adrenalin in me. Meeeeen! Isn't the EPL popular in Egypt? Or even Zambia?

Would the Ivoriens, whose team is made up of good quality EPL players, also complain about the influence of the EPL?

definitely; they will, very soon.
to me, i think the business of football has outrun its time. legends of football has come and gone. we are only left with remnants in the pack(messi and probably CR). believe me money and advertisements have done great havoc to the game. what has happened to those stadiums where we used to watch inter school football at 50k per match? they are all wasting and left uncared for. Then came the EPL, la liga,et al. on cable TV, we were thrilled, and carried away by the glamours, transfer rumours, arguments. we forgot the bases of the game and praises everything Europe which themselves are fast loosing their taste and thrills. football business is fast obeying the law of nature, 'nothing last forever' after all it all about entertaining and exercising the human body.

oh i need a proper definition of the jehovah

then who is jesus?

why do you xtians say jesus is lord?

why do you xtians respect jesus more than you respect jehovah?

i need good and clear answers!!!

in psalms 83:18. That people may know you whose name is Jehovah, you are the most high in all the universe. A number of other Bible translations give similar renderings. However, many translations leave out the name Jehovah replacing it with titles such as 'Lord' or 'Eternal'. He alone has always existed .psalms 90:2 says 'Even from time Indefinite to time indefinite (forever) you are God.

He want us to know his name and use it 'isaiah 42:8' I am Jehovah, this is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images.

Jesus on the other hand is the promised messiah, jehovah God inspired many Bible prophet to provide details about his birth, the ministry and death of Jesus. they are amazingly accurate and detailed. (isaiah 7:14 was fulfilled in Mat 1:18-25), (psalms 2:7 fulfilled in Matthew. 3:17) a few of the several prophecies.

Jesus never equated himself to Jehovah_ john 14:28 .....am going my way to the father, BECAUSE the father is greater than I am.

Why son of God- jehovah is called the father because he is the creator (isaiah 64:cool since Jesus was created by God, he is called God's son. For similar reasons, other spirit creatures, even the man Adam. Are called sons of God.- job1:6,luke3:38.

By what standard is it cheap. Where in the world do people buy whole chicken at 5 USD per kg? It is damn expensive, we have not even added the cost of dressing the chicken

I agree with you partially. On the other hand, the last time I bought chickens in that market, (@ about a month ago) even though not as big as those shown above, I bought two full chickens @ N1500. It all depends on the breeds ( local or poultry breed). To me those prices are fair enough in a place where the idea of having a poultry farm is risky because of the weather. Besides the local in sokoto depends entirely on beef,so chicken delicacies are not a commonplace therefore there are not much poultry farms around.
