Politics / Re: Tinubu Vendetta Against Dangote by okoloto: 6:24am
Dangote did not setup his refinery to subsidise fuel or gas for you. It is a business for him which is all about taking advantage of an environment.
If you check his cement is the costliest amoung all cement producers and importers.
Why should it be so? When he has more capacity which should transcend to cheaper production and delivery cost.
No government allow an individual sabotage their plans. Without the government of lagos, it is not easy getting that land in a metropolis city like lagos. Nigeria government gave him concession by providing foreign exchange at the official rate instead of market rayw at the time. Do you know how much that is? Nigerians made him and should be considerate in his pricing.

Politics / Re: Lagos Govt To Start Charging Cars Parked Outside Church Premises Per Hour by okoloto: 6:20am On Jul 21
Lagos traffic can be messy and so the authorities has a responsibility to make life easier. What about buses that indiscriminately park at the center of the road to load passengers without considering other road users.
To me whatever decision taken to make a free flow of traffic is a welcome development

Politics / Re: Katsina Elders Urge Tinubu To Reshuffle Cabinet, Halt Insecurity by okoloto: 6:32am On Jul 19
Regionalism is the only thing that will solve Nigeria's problem. Nigeria is all about interest and tribal interest. How can we solve these problems? Each regions understands their peculiar problems and how to deal with it and then let there be a weak center with rotational presidency.
Some think they won't survive with it but when it happens, they will understand the advantage they have against others. Unfortunately those that has hijacked power in the center will never allow that. Do you think they are there for your interest? Dey play
Politics / Re: Dangote Refinery Products Inferior; Nigeria Can't Rely On Them Alone - NMDPRA by okoloto: 9:08pm On Jul 18
Even though what farouk said about dangote maybe true, those guys in nnpc in charge of importing fuel will normally fight back because their food is being taken away by dangote.
The level of corruption in that sector is why Nigerians don't benefit from God given oil.
If the government can't manage refineries, let them sell it to private sector and there will be competition. Our refineries won't be allowed to work so that importation continues which lines their pockets and improvish Nigerians.

Politics / Re: "Most States are not viable": Agbakoba seeks return to regional Government by okoloto: 5:18pm On Jul 14
South east needs more states. It's not injustice only because it is not happening to you. Equal state as per region balances resource and political sharing. Creating more states will not stop regionalism. After all we know who and who is afraid of regional government.
All regions is blessed in Nigeria and I don't know why some are afraid of regional government. They prefer to share free lunch in abuja from other regions without contributing anything. Selfishness and tribalism is what is holding us down. Nigeria will be great but we need to do the right things. Competition breeds achievements. Forget the I'm not competing with anyone mantra.

Tinubu's wisdom and Umahi's courage have once again proven that PDP's misgovernance and lack of vision is still evident in their attempts to disrupt development in Nigeria with their constant change of plans.

How is this wisdom after destroying properties. It tells how planned the project is. No proper feasibility study before engaging in a project of that magnitude. Anyways the project will open those corridors for development and easy movement but we pray it's completed.

Celebrities / Re: Imade: Davido & Sophia's Child Custody Battle - My Candid Opinion By Dele Momodu by okoloto: 3:13pm On Jul 06
What I understand is that davido is ready to do anything to at least have access to her daughter. Any responsible man would always want so.
The thing is that Sophia like most woman
knowing davidos statues would want to use it as a cash out or to remain (most bills paid) in such high class but davido wants to have the child which cuts off that.
Sophia refused the vacation because she may not see that child again for a long time.
What I love is the Adelekes family setting. Very tight.
If possible for davido, he should buy a house for the girl and allow her and the mother there which also in a way is a settlement for the child and pay the school fees directly to the school/pay the nanny and they agree on food.
Half of 23m is a huge sum for rent. It must not be banana island
In all imade should be happy having access to the mother and father.

That's why I am all for demolition of illegally constructed buildings blocking drainages. Mr Tokunbo Wahab should increase the tempo. These are good justifications.

How did this happen without the knowledge of the Lagos state building authorities?
They collect bribe and allow it and later come to complain, mark it for demolition, collect another bribe and if a higher authority notices, then demolition.
Properties / Re: ‘many Structures Will Go Down’, Lagos Blows Hot Over Flood by okoloto: 4:16am On Jul 04
Lagos should widen and build more drainage collecting channels. In some parts of Lagos, you will see big waterways and channels that collects drainage waters not built hence encouraging blockage. If it is well built with concrete, water will flow easily. For example since a big underground water channel was built in ejigbo, the ejigbo flooding stopped. You also can't see flooding inside festac because of the underground drainage. Lagos has the capacity to do more and bring these floodings to minimal situations. Not only about demolishing houses. if all channels and waterways are cleaned, water will flow easily hence less flood. A task force that compels landlords to pay certain fees where existing street gutters are not cleaned should also help to make discharging to waterways much easier and quick.

Wahab is doing well but should do more on clearing / construction of waterways and big water collecting channels. When water flows easily, flooding won't pesist.
Land reclaiming is also part of all of this. We should ask, where did the water chased out for building eco Atlantic go to and other reclaimed land. It goes to lower land part of lekki hence slow flow of water after the rain.
