Nigerian music is, without a doubt, doing well, not only in Nigeria but also in different parts of the world.

Undoubtedly, Burna Boy is one of those artists pushing Nigerian music and also representing it well in many parts of the world.

Recently, he took to his Twitter page to reveal that he is the first Nigerian act to have sold-out shows in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille.

Burna did this in response to a fan who attempted to praise him with some music stats that belittled his achievements.

The African Giant revealed that he has sold out the arena in Paris with 3000 capacity, the Lyon arena twice, with 2500 and 3500 capacity, respectively as well as Marseille with 3500 capacity.

Nigerians have taken to twitter to call out Burna Boy over his unruly behaviour in an interview in 2017.

A Twitter user shared the video in which the singer was being interviewed by a Caucasian man.

In the trending video, Burna could be seen sitting with his mum and grandfather as they spoke with the journalist about their life in the music industry.

During the interview, the African giant suddenly told the journalist that the interview was boring.

Also, showing less concern he stood up and asked the journalist if they could ‘roll out and go turn up’.

Eventually, the singer said ‘Bleep stories mean’ and left the room.

However, his mother’s facial expression showed that she was disappointed in his attitude.

Actress Etinosa Idemudia has taken to Instagram to drag Apostle Johnson Suleman.

She took to her Instagram page on Monday, February 24 where she dragged the clergyman over his condemning comments on people who bleach their skins.

Etinosa wrote:

Actress Empress Njamah took to Instagram on Wednesday, 22nd of January, thanking God for saving her from a terrible robbery attack while with her mom.

Unknown to the public, the actress and her mother had been victims of a robbery attack which reportedly took the lives of many and left others injured on December 30, 2019.

According to Njamah, they survived three different robbery attacks in the space of 40 minutes.

Hence, to show appreciation, Empress visited orphanage homes and performed charity to the less privileged.

Pushing aside the fact that Naira Marley has stepped on quite a lot of toes since breaking into the Nigerian music scene with his kind of songs and the vulgarity of his lyrics, certain people in the corners of power have taken it upon themselves to tarnish the image of the rapper no matter the cost.

As far as 2019 is concerned, news about Naira Marley on the internet over an alleged internet fraud has far more been consistent than the way Nigerians sing the praises of Jollof rice on social media. Nollywood Actor, Yomi Fabiyi, in a recent interview addressed the on-going feud between himself and colleague, Toyin Abraham that made him stop being friends with her.

While speaking with Biodun Alao, Yomi revealed that he started to notice some things about Toyin that he did not like. He said their issues began after he chose not to cast Abraham in one of his movies.

According to him, the actress had expressed interest in acting in the movie but he told her he needed a new face.

Basket mouth has released a statement with respect to his removal as an ambassador for EU in Nigeria’s campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

He was one of the Nigerian celebrities who were chosen to be advocates for the EU’s cause on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

However, the news of Basket Mouth being one of the ambassadors didn’t augur well with Twitter users and caused an outrage. Twitter users brought up a 2014 joke he made about rape and said he was not fit to represent women and the issues they face.

Hence, he was removed following the outrage on social media.

Reacting to his removal, Basket Mouth released a statement of apology on Instagram with a photo collage of a number of women including his daughter, his wife, Busola Dakolo, and more.

He wrote:

Season 3 ex-BBNaija housemate, Nina Ivy who has without a doubt look like she has been doing great without her ex-boyfriend and her BBNaija house lover, Miracle. As a matter of observation, the elegance in the way she dresses cannot be overlooked as she literally always pop up on the gram.

The former reality TV star posted a photo sharing a kiss with an unknown man whose face could not be captured properly because she had her phone obstructing his face. She captioned the photo, ‘Don’t wake me up’.

However, an Instagram user with handle @queenireta, has allegedly accused Nina of sleeping with her man after she posted the photo. The lady revealed that she and the unknown guy had been dating for 3 years plus and that Nina went all the way to Atlanta to sleep with her man for $200. She added that Nina had blocked her Instagram.

Queen Ireta also posted a video of the unknown guy and herself having fun at a club. She opened up on a conversation that ensued between her and the unknown guy which revealed the man pleading for her forgiveness with claims suggesting that he was only helping her out.

Nina, on the hand, has reacted to the news circulating around that she slept with another man. Her response suggests she does not seem to be bothered as she even created humour of the whole saga.

The whole drama took a different turn when another lady who chose rather not to disclose her identity, alleged that the unknown man is also her friend’s boyfriend. The lady who identified the unknown man’s name as Tony Ifeanyi Anoliefo, stated that Tony has since deactivated his Instagram when he saw her post.

The lady who could not hold back on her rage used cursed words on him and went on to share a video and a picture that captured her friend and Tony hanging out on several occasions.

The ongoing beef between rappers, Vector and M.I doesn’t seem to be coming to an end soon as it keeps getting hotter everyday.

The beef, however, prompted their fans to propose a face off in a rap battle between the duo to settle the rancour between them which none of them gave a response to up until Nigerian Big Boys, Williexo and Hushpuppi weighed into the matter.

On the 17th of October, Williexo posted a video informing Vector and M.I that there’s N40 Million on the table for whoever wins in the rap battle.

His caption reads:

”This bout to become the biggest showdown in the history of Nigerian music! My billionaire brother @hushpuppi just added 10Million to the 30Million I put on the table, so now we have ₦40 MILLION ++ on the table, winner takes all.

“We go even arrange extra big mulla for the opening hip hop acts. Let’s get together and make history for Nigerian hip hop! One mic, two legends, one of them will walk away with 40Million cash doing what they love.

Vector, however, has accepted the challenge via a video he posted on his Instagram page on October 17, 2019.

His words:

And the money is now N40 million, which is more more serious... .For the culture too, it's great... 40 million is big money. So now, I don take the challenge. On the other hand, it’s not looking like M.I would be accepting the challenge as he hasn’t responded to the challenge since yesterday. If he does, it is without doubt that the show will be one of the most talked about in the history of rap in Nigeria because fans and celebrities cannot wait to watch a live rap battle between two of Nigeria’s best rappers.

Without doubts, the two recently released songs which talks down the male gender, seems to have engulfed the heart of ladies as most of them are not willing to persevere in their relationships anymore just because they are now trying to get rid of their “Yeye Boyfriend”.

The month of September, 2019 was a hot and drama filled one as the internet was on fire over the feud between two Yoruba Nollywood giants, Toyin Abraham and Lizzy Anjorin.

The duo were involved in a serious and heated exchange of words via their various social media channels, not left out are the legal notes they served to one another like a plate of Jollof rice. It was during the course of the tussle Toyin Abraham reportedly gave birth to her first child, Ire. The birth of the child, however, brought about a revelation of what seemed to be hidden from the mouth of Lizzy Anjorin. She subtly alleged that Toyin gave birth to her child in a traditional home as opposed to what she made the public believe that she gave birth to her child the conventional way at a reputable hospital.

Debunking the claim, Toyin with the help of her publicist released a video showing her after she welcomed her son in a hospital in Lekki, Lagos. However, Lizzy countered her with a video she shared on her Instagram page claiming that the video was doctored just to prove a point by Toyin.

Fast forward to this month, Toyin Abraham began a sensitisation on her Instagram page about a project she has had on-going for sometimes which she did the unveiling via her personal page on Instagram on Wednesday, 16th of October, 2019.

Alas! the long anticipated project happens to be a herbal company that deals in increasing female fertility and helps in child bearing.

A herbal company? At a time like this? It poses different assumption to the mind and different people have reacted in various manners but worthy of note are the set of people who believed that Toyin used Lizzy’s claim as a business idea and we have the others who believed Toyin’s move was a confirmation to Lizzy’s claim that she had her baby the traditional way.

Nevertheless, it seems like it is a smart move from Toyin Abraham if she actually got the business idea from Lizzy’s claims, which makes her similar to Zlatan Ibile who takes the opportunity of everything thrown at him to make a hit. And if she had her baby the traditional way and this move of hers was just a confirmation, it still balls down to favour her because a rift is a rift until someone decides to turn the narrative around in their favour.
