Education / Success To All Jambites ! by Orobert: 10:16am On May 14, 2008
I know most of you must have prepared real hard for JAMB. I took me three shots at JAMB to be were I am. Not because I am not intelligent but for other extraneous variables which I will never want your way.

To all first timers, I pray you do this Just this ONCE. Bear in mind that HEAVEN supports the strong. I have this to tell you : SET YOUR TARGET AND DO ALL THAT IS NECESSARY .
Follow the lead, Success is assured.

And to people who had it rough like me: The truth is it can never be rougher, this is were it ends. You shall not have to do this again, this is so because you have the experience and with a little more work , it would be over.
I will say to you what I have said to the freshers. SET YOUR TARGET AND DO ALL THAT IS NECESSARY.

Be sure to tell us how cheap it was!
ALL THE BEST!

bad belle how? most of us got where we are by our own efforts, not because our old man knows someone.

unlike your celebrated alumnus, we know that if our old man/uncle passes on or falls from grace - we will still dey kampe. our parents work stopped after we graduated. whats to celebrate about our parents pulling strings after we've graduated? whither independence and being your own man?

if a position as a government bureaucrat( and we know what working for the government means - inefficency, corruption, using archaic systems and methods) posts is the best a CU graduate can expect (since you seem to consider it a cause for celebration) - then y'all were ripped off.

Did you not hear he was off in a remote NYSC camp when he was appointed. Does that show anything as self effort as you claim for CU students? Obviously a greater hand(very weak though) ve postioned him. One cant actually get stronger than his foundation. The process is bad and that we must acknowledge.
Please,Oyb give us his full name so we could match him to CU when e go happen.

Business / Business Columnist Wanted by Orobert: 1:18pm On Apr 02, 2008
Landers,
I think someone might be interested in been the business columnist of my departmental magazine.
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the  University of Nigeria, Nsukka is set to produce    its annual publication(Society in Focus), which would be in circulation nationwide by June this year(2008).
Society in Focus is designed to balance intellectual positivism with societal reality. The 2007 edition of the magazine was a monumental success, and this we are seeking improvement. This we want to do by reporting information that would be of great interest and beneficial to our readers . This move is vital as there are plans to market the magazine beyond the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The Editorial board(which am its Graphic and page manager) decided to incorporate an e-biz column and as business orientated people, I naturally felt compelled to inform landers of this opportunity.

From the decision reached by the Board, Our columnist would be allowed to educate readers on his line of biz, possibly stimulate response from them by referring them to a blog, website etc. These however would be done for a price, which we have agreed to let for  #30,000(Naira).

I think taking this opportunity is worth it.( thats if you believe in the power of real advert).

I want to promise you of a high return on investment as we have built (and still building ) alliances for the distribution of the magazine. I assure you of success If you take this leap with us.

If you are interested, please mail me on caballero4all@yahoo.com

Landers,

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has opened the stage for the production of its annual publication(Society in Focus), which would be in circulation nationwide by June this year(2008).
Society in Focus is designed to balance intellectual positivism with societal reality. Our first publication was a monumental success, and this year we would only seek improvement.

As a member of the Editorial board, I want to inform you of our decision to accept sponsorship and adverts from corporate bodies/individual who would want to take this quantum leap with us, and make there Firms/concepts a national brand.

We also have columns for executives/enterpreanuers and the general public who want to contribute articles for publication.

Most importantly, Students of Sociology and Anthropology (National and international) are highly invited to contribute to this enlargement of the body of intellect.

If you are interested in those offers, Please freely E-mail me : caballero4all@yahoo.com for more information.
I promise, you will never be disappointed.

stepestus:

hello, u don't need to know anybody there. your admission depends strictly on how you perform in the post ume examinations. What do u intend studying?

Am a student of the University of Nigeria. Admission now is so illusive like the search for the Holy Gril. The school vacated offically for the exta break today(14th March)and reopens with exams. First years would start writing from 4th April. as you can see 2007/2008 admission is "over" save you know a "strong man".
I adivice you sit for this JAMB, make outstanding grade, come over and dazzled them with a wonderfully Post-UME score, the University would ve no option but to admit you.

I wish you all the best and would always standby for any assistance. caballero4all@yahoo.com
Literature / Re: Which Books/Novels Are You Currently Reading? by Orobert: 4:50am On Mar 12, 2008
Combing Sociology and Anthropology is a little bit challenging, time consuming and (if I must say)boring but I like it. It requires time if one really wants to make out something from it, that time I ve but to the detrimentof "life"
Aside course works, am currently reading  "The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa the African published by himself.
Equiano is a Nigerian who was Kidnapped at age 11 and sold into slavery and taken to the New World. From a slave Equiano turn a captain in the Royal Navy, and later to a Quaker merchant, he eventually earned the price of his own freedom by careful trading and saving.Later he became involved in the movement to abolish slave trade, an involvement which led him to writing and publishing a literary work that is believe by many to be the first major literary work done by a black African. That should be in , 1789.

Am also reading my little cousin`s Lady bird keyword. its remains me of were life began!! Though is not scientific but ,

I pass the TORGH, what are you reading?

Politics / Re: Nigeria's Oil Will Be Gone In 43 Years(article) by Orobert: 3:55am On Mar 12, 2008
The resources of Nature are in "excess" abundance when that in Rivers, Beylsea,Bonny, Akwa ibom etc are exhusted (and Man still have need of Oil) another well will be discovered in Zamfara, Kogi, Taraba and their likes. Man shall never lack that which sustains his life, if this simple natural rule is voided then simple existence would stop and that alone makes a mockry of the Creator, the process and the reason of creation.

Man is a user of "things" and therefore he can't be without THEM.

Stumbling on "hard evidence that" which disproves evolution. I think it would do anyone that is really for knowledge to see visit this URL   https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-110965.0.html. while there try being objective.

EVOLUTION IS ABOUT THE CLEAREST OF THE THOERIES THAT CLOSELY MIRROWS AND EXPLAINS THE EXISTENCE OF LIFE FORM.
ITS KINDA REDICULOUS FOR AN INTELLECTUAL TO BELIEVE IN A WOU\RLD THAT IS 6000 YRS OLD, WHERE GEOLOGY AND ANTHROPOLOGY CAN REFUTE OTHERWISE WITHOUT EFFORT. MOST OF US ARE AWARE OF LIVING ORGANISMS ACCUMULATING 14CARBON WHILE ALIVE AND DISPENSED GRADUALLY AT DEATH. THIS HAS GROWN TO BE ONE OF THE DATING TECHS. APPLIED BY GEOLOGIST AND ANTHR.  fOSSILS FOUND DURING EXCAVATIONS CONFORM.

I BELIEVE OUR WORLD IS OLDER THAN 6000 YRS JUST AS GALILEO BELIEVED THE EARTH MOVES.
