Business / Re: Has Anyone Successfully Linked Their NIN With Their Bank Account? by Osombo: 4:15pm On Feb 29
Duplication too much; even after both BVN and NIN are often provided during filling some forms in the banking hall, they expect the customers to go online again and link.

NYSC / Re: Opinion: NYSC Has Outlived Its Usefulness by Osombo: 3:46pm On Oct 11, 2023
Fact! Once the FG allows youths to dream be innovative with monetary and friendly policy support, the system then work and then economy boom cos it means we export our goods and services and less import. The issues is those youths that benefits from corruption won't like this idea cos most are not ready to add value meanwhile in other countries, private sector is the highest employer of labour
spiSeyi:
Most developed worlds don't do programs like NYSC which have no or little impact on the economy.
The US unemployment rate stands at 3.1%, what the government does majorly is provide grants and create entrepreneurship institutions like Silicon Valley. Elon Musk got a grant from the government to start Space X, Meta, Google, and Microsoft are all products of Silicon Valley.
Which notable entrepreneur(s) has NYSC produced that has helped to solve the country's problem None undecided
Nigeria's unemployment rate stands at 53% among the youth and 90% of Nigerian graduates go to NYSC programs. The funniest thing is that it's not the US government that is creating the employment directly, the employment is being created by those who went through the grants & funding series, and Silicon Valley.
My opinions are
1 NYSC should be replaced with compulsory 6 months of entrepreneurship programs in major areas of the economy.
2 Every successful candidate should be given a noninterest loan of 5M each to start a venture.
3 Candidates who failed the programs should go for mandatory skill acquisition for 6 months. The government should give them the necessary equipment they need for their trade and a 1M noninterest loan. (e. g. , a trained fashion designer should be provided with a sewing machine, a weepy machine, and a 1M loan)
Feel free to object to the opinions or add yours

You are calling a closet enemy a friend?

I pity you, bro.

He gets a hard-on from reading about and knowing that he's doing better than you economically and material-wise and all the respect and worship you've been according to him will become a thing of the past.

Most of them hate competition and always revel in the reality of being the ones at the center of all attention.

Even if you are 50 and able to move to the U.S., get serious, work legitimately for the next 5-7 years, and call it a wrap, you will have successfully settled your downlines and created a wonderful retirement plan for yourself with proper planning.

Move, if you can, and with the right plans and connect.

It is good to skill up, but if you ain't got it, you ain't got it and it isn't the beginning and end of life.

There are a ton of zero-skilled jobs where you can make the equivalent of what you currently earn in a month in Nigeria in just a single day..yeah, you heard me right, in a dayyyyy.

*Edited*

For those quoting me to say what they know nothing about or just getting pissed that I might be encouraging people to come compete with them, I no blame una, it is the usual hoarding of information by Nigerians because they want to be the only ones making it and revered in their locality.

In the U.S., every other nationality are united and supportive of themselves with information and intelligence sharing to prosper together. But Nigerians? Neverrrr. Dem go dey buga dey talk from nose...

Come see Haitians, Moroccans, Kenyans, Hispanics, all having agencies and supporting their people with jobs to survive....

I met a Nigerian grandmother who came here for omugwo. We got talking. Grandma was like, "my pikin, why e be say those our people wey don tey here dey always lie to us" I say "mama, I no know oh".

Mama was like "you no see my new car for outside there, na me dey make $6-7k per month like this depending on how many hours I work. I dey softly dey build apartments for Benin to use for shortlet.."

😊 U eh
Samantha124:
The last time my family purchased electricity was back in 2014.

When the prepaid meter got spoiled, they bought a new one and called the electricity people (Eskom) to come and install it.

They came, but never did finished installing it and the last person that came said something about the electricity being too much on the prepaid meter, that he couldn't control it and that he'll be back... He never did returned.

Throughout the years we contacted them, but no one came.. We made sure to keep the call records.. One of them even said we should enjoy it like that as it's the municipality that is paying for the electricity with government money and that we shouldn't worry because it's not our fault.

So we've been enjoying free electricity all these years... grin grin grin

Family / Re: Should I Meet Her Biological Father Before Paying Bride-Price To Her Step-father by Osombo: 5:11pm On Jun 01, 2023
Let this teach women decency especially if the daughter was gotten out of wedlock, to avoid repeat of history, I can father orphans from orphanage or whose parents are late or children of relatives I can cater for them. For the stepdad as U asked, he definitely knew from onset that child is not his biologically so he should face his decision from onset
IamAsiri:

And what happens to the man who decided to take care of another man's daughter regardless? Can you take that? Can you even take care of another man's abandoned child? Let's all judge with fairness.
Family / Re: Should I Meet Her Biological Father Before Paying Bride-Price To Her Step-father by Osombo: 2:51pm On Jun 01, 2023
Fined doesn't necessarily mean paying bride price, what's important is starting their marriage foundation on good note, what if the real Dad and stepdad are from different tribes and tradition, does it mean d fiancee will all of sudden practice different tradition diff from her real biological own? Unfortunate thing is na Church dem fit do white wedding yet the mother and daughter can't forgive the real father, if the father is the problem, are his family bad too? OP needs to do his independent investigation, marriage is no joke except he wants to marry two wives
sharone21:

Biko, if the man is fined and he pays her bride price which he would have done since if he wanted honor from the woman and her child, do we conclude that the woman married 2 husbands?..... We don't even know why the woman and child ran from him, some men can be wicked, deadly... Some don't even mind to wipe any trace that will make them look irresponsible in future incase he desires to seek one higher position or the other....

It will also be very embarrassing if the man doesn't fully welcome this man as inlaw. He is even creating future problems for himself especially if he wants him to be giving him things as in law and this oversabi gives it only to the stepdad, he may even start wishing them problems in the family unconsciously so that they must see him to resolve the issue and 'dash' him things.

I only accept good traditions, anyone that will not benefit me, I dump it.... Imagine bringing ex to matrimonial home of someone u never wished to be married.... He will even be surprised that the woman could get her life back and marry ( because this is NOT even a remarriage).

It is well
Family / Re: Should I Meet Her Biological Father Before Paying Bride-Price To Her Step-father by Osombo: 5:55am On Jun 01, 2023
U are a real man! Good point, most times these women manipulate and poisoned minds of these children and probably hard to live with and frustrate ur fatherly responsibility. In fact enough of these single mothers, single guys avoid ladies with Daddy issues, only a simp will agree to be someone else father when obviously the real father is alive except with his consent
Nigga44:
If you like, take the misguided advise of nairaland's bitter divorced women grin

Go and see that man!

Besides, if I was the mother's present husband, I must insist the biological father officially knows what's going as long as he's still alive

OP I know of a situation like urs, lady wasn't picking her Dad's calls even when the man was reaching out each time. I will advise U to see the biological father, meet him and if possible if U can bring him to the mother of ur fiancee and her family to make peace and if possible let them fine him and he pays, then let him be rightful person to collect bride price and he can as well handle same to his inlaws since he wasn't there for the daughter, that's respect and he can bless ur marriage, we men hardly talk, we overlook so many things. Let me ask U, U want to built ur foundation of beef? Don't U think death can be inevitable if U go ahead without his consent, even if he is dead, he has family What if ur children ask after their grandpa, will d stepfather ne their real grandpa when their real grandpa is alive? The fiancee sef no try, don't she know U avn mock her one day, ur blood is ur blood ooo Who knows maybe it was cos infidelity he left the Mom
MetaBroadband:
Good morning mature men and women in the house. Please I need your help on this topic.

My Fiancee told me about how her biological dad abandoned her and her mum after getting her mum pregnant.

Her mum later married another man who adopted her as his child.

Now she's grown and I've proposed to her, I wanted to go for her official introduction and list collection.

Would it not be nice to hear the biological father's opinion? Should I just ignore the fact that the man is still alive and proceed with the marriage arrangement?

Although she said I should not bother about that, but this is Nigeria and as an Akwa Ibomite I don't think it's proper. Although she's against me trying to find out about the man's opinion. Should I care?

What can you say about this?

Note: she only told me that the man abandoned them, but what if it was her mum that actually took her away?

I know this topic may be ironic coming from me but I am generally very curious. I have seen men of all statuses go crazy for it whether white or black-although it does seem to be black men who like it the most. Women seem to go crazy for it too. When i say curvy I mean hourglass/pear shape. I have gotten/get so much attention it’s crazy, that sometimes it starts to get embarrassing even at work that now I have started wearing loose clothing at work just to feel comfortable.

Family / Re: Men Are Afraid Of Successful Women. by Osombo: 4:48am On Apr 20, 2023
👍❤️🖤💙
Rokiat:
This is a great topic with many layers to it.

The problem is that many women lead with their achievements. They achieved and believe oh well
I’m a high achiever I don’t gotta clean for no man I don’t gotta cook for no man infact I don’t need a man. That’s the issue right there.

I have said it before and I will say it here again, men don’t give a damn about a woman’s achievements. Maybe your home girls will clap for you but this is not all a man is looking for. An uneducated woman who’s broke and never been to college don’t work but can cook, have good nurturing skills, a good mother, fine as hell, good in bed, will always get the better man than a woman who’s hella accomplished and is totally out of touch with her womanly side and roles.

Fun fact as you are off to work, he’s fu..cking that unemployed woman that truly makes him feel like a man.

Also many of these women achieved and start shouting it at the top of their lungs, a big turn off to many men. A man’s would love you to leave space for him to come in and be a man, provide for you, get you that car that house for the family etc but if you buy yourself all
Of these things and claiming to be an independent strong woman that has everything and the only thing you need is a man well my sister you will stay long waiting for that man.

The truth is bitter, but a successful man is treated like a big baller in society but you as a successful woman well sorry but many men don’t care. And the issue is that many successfully women wants the accolades, the praises, special treatment and to be exempt from their womanly duties simply because they are successful in society. It’s just as bad as men wanting special treatment and better positions because they look good. Lol that’s funny but imagine a man thinking because he looks good so he will get a higher position…rarely ever as in ever. A woman looks yes that matters but a man? Nope not really because that doesn’t impact on his ability to provide or protect. Women have to stop thinking just because they are successful and high achievers they don’t gotta do what a man’s requires of a woman to
Make him feel like a man.

And this is for the women that wants lasting and happy relationships. If you want to be a strong independent woman that don’t need no man kudos to you, do you but you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
