What are you talking about? Ghana is a sovereign nation, it has laws and it can make laws it deems fit to protect its citizens and economy just like any nation. Go back to Nigeria and take a hard look at the trade laws of Nigeria vis-a-vis the protection against foreign investment and then come back and make your argument.

Could you tell me whether the Ecowas agreement states anywhere what amount citizens of member countries should pay before doing business in another country. Despite Ecowas, I don't think citizens of member countries can just go into another country and set up any business, countries have laws.

That is certainly part of the problem. A country like Ghana is small and it's resources are limited. Just imagine a million Nigerians (could easily happen) in Accra competing with Ghanaians in the retail industry. This could create real problems. Nigerians don't have to worry because they have a huge population/resources so there should be no threat.

I don't know of the instances you are talking about, but my guess is there is some exaggeration here. Nigeria being as populous as it is will most likely have a large number of its citizens anywhere that Africans are. If an African is attacked you know it could be you next time, so the smart thing to do is you bind and fight the enemy. It becomes attach one attack all. I don't think Nigerians go around fighting peoples fight.
